Do not use this service

Do not sign up with teach me. The prices they show is only if you use their every week plan. If you want less frequent plan or 10 lessons pack, the price is much higher.

The reviews on the coaches are AI assisted based on few questions they ask you. They are not honest reviews written by users.

While they claim you can cancel any time, beware that their app is misleading. I had paused my subscription yet a month later, I got billed for more lessons I did not want. They claim they never got my request to pause and they refuse to refund unused lessons. It is also nearly impossible to get a human being on the phone from this business. Their text system (Hannah) is fast and responsive, but probably AI powered and do not have the power to make decisions.

While the coach is fine, its not worth the trouble dealing with a shady business.

Update: Nov 30
A representative from the company called me back on Sunday afternoon on a recorded line saying that they did find that I had paused my service but insisted that I only did it for one month. Still refused to refund me. I requested for someone higher in the company to contact me.

Update: Dec 4
The company sent me an email with copies of invoice and refund receipt and refunded me. They still claim I had only paused for 1 month. They had the audacity to text me and ask me to remove my negative review if I was "satisfied with the resolution". The company could have avoided all this if they had put customer service first and refund me like an honest company should the first time I contacted them.

If you ever encounter an issue with a lesson, please contact our support team directly. We’re happy to work with you to resolve problems fairly, but repeated misuse of our offers cannot be accommodated. We appreciate your understanding.

Awful business practice

Awful business practice. I purchased a few pickleball lessons, was told it would not keep charging my card when I put it in their system. They charged over 2k to my card for 4 lessons of pickleball (my fault I didn't realize the charges were on the card) but refuse to give me a refund.

This companies app is absolutely


This companies app is absolutely horrible and they make it extremely difficult to cancel. I thought that my account was cancelled when it actually wasn’t. They charged my account and when I reached out immediately saying that didn’t want the subscription or the lessons and wanted my money refunded they refused to refund me. Horrible customer support. Do not trust this company, do not sign up for this.

Impressed former tech exec

As a former tech exec, I'm constantly vigilant of the next emerging startup or company that is doing good things. I'm also a Tennis instructor who has now been using TeachMe.To for several months. From the UI to the Marketing, to the excellent Support team, I am continually impressed by the way this team executes with everything. I'm especially pleased with the high level of Coach Support from the Support channel and the way they respond so quickly. I've had early morning lessons and often late lessons that end at 10 pm and if I send a message to Support asking for help, they will usually respond within minutes. Thank you for being a great advocate for coaches, in Whatever sport a coach may specialize in on this app and for growing this new app so methodically. Much success to all of you!

Sudden, unexpected charges

I had great guitar lessons but realized I couldn't commit to paying for 4 sessions a month. Stopped the subscription but suddenly, after 6 months, I get a charge for 4 more lessons. There was no notice or indication that this charge was coming. There is no way on the App to have checked on this or to know that this was coming or prevent it. They refuse to refund the money but are keeping the money so I can have more lessons in the future that I do not want.

As discussed, we reviewed your account and confirmed that you paused your subscription from May through November using the student app. When the pause period ended, your subscription automatically resumed and renewed according to the terms agreed upon at purchase.

We completely understand that unexpected charges can be frustrating. However, as outlined in our Subscription Policy, renewals that have already been processed are non-refundable. The renewal payment you mentioned was for new lesson credits, which remain valid for 12 months and can be used anytime in the future. We strive to be transparent with our customers, and we never want you to feel misled. These terms were clearly displayed during checkout.

That said, we truly appreciate your feedback about clearer renewal notifications and app visibility. Your input is valuable and helps us continue improving the experience for all our users.

I was robbed

I had 3 lessons with this company (1 was supposed to be free) & never heard back. I sent follow up requests for lessons without response. I sent a note that I only wanted to be charged as the lesson was booked, not 4 at a time. I contacted them again a couple of months ago asking for a refund for lessons I was being charged for.
Meanwhile, I was charged a total of $670 when only receiving 3 lessons. That feels like a crime to me.
Only today did I hear back with a cancellation without refund. I was robbed.

DO NOT USE TEACHME.TO Private pickleball lesson as a gift gone wrong

I booked a private pickleball lesson as a birthday gift, and the experience was incredibly frustrating. The coach and platform kept changing the date and time without notice or my consent. Communication was poor, and when I asked for a refund, they refused. What should’ve been a fun, thoughtful gift turned into a headache. I wouldn’t recommend TeachMe.To to anyone looking for reliability or professionalism. Jamie the pickleball coach did not care to accommodate me at all, even though I communicated to her it was a special occasion and gift to my bf. I’m so upset
.

UPDATE: They only approved my refund after threatening to do a chargeback and filing a complaint with the BBB. They are trash disgrace of a company.

Auto-Renewal Without Notice + No Flexibility from Support

This is no knock on the trainer I was paired with, who has been great. My issue is with the TeachMeTo platform and its business practices.

After a string of lessons, I requested to freeze/pause my subscription due to work commitments and health issues. At the time of pausing, there was no clear indication that the subscription would be automatically reactivated without my consent, nor did I receive any advance communication or reminder that it would resume.

When the subscription was reactivated, not only was I completely unaware, but the rate had increased significantly — from $196.88 to $472.50 (a difference of roughly $275). My trainer was also unaware this would happen under TeachMeTo’s system.

I contacted support within 5 minutes of being charged (the charge was at 10:26 pm; I reached out at 10:31 pm). This was not an attempt to avoid payment, but a reaction to a charge I did not expect. Unfortunately, the support team was not helpful. I was told I have 12 months to use the credit, but due to an injury that likely requires surgery, I won’t be able to use the lessons within that period — and I don’t have anyone to “share” them with. This means I’m out a significant amount of money, and my trainer won’t be paid either. The funds simply sit in the TeachMeTo system.

To be so rigid with policy despite me flagging the issue almost immediately is incredibly disappointing — especially since I was just five minutes past an unclear six-month deadline. It would be entirely reasonable for TeachMeTo to improve its notification system to alert customers before subscriptions are resumed or freezes are about to expire.

This has been a frustrating and costly experience, and I hope this feedback prompts TeachMeTo to revisit its policies and communication practices.

To clarify, when a subscription is paused in the app, you’ll need to select an end date for when it will automatically resume. Once the selected pause period ends, the plan automatically renews unless it’s canceled beforehand.

Regarding the price increase, your coach adjusted their rate, which resulted in the higher charge. We always send email notifications to inform students of any price changes prior to renewal.

Lesson credits from each renewal remain valid for 12 months; however, we’d be happy to make an exception in your case and extend the validity of your lessons.

We truly regret any inconvenience this policy may have caused and appreciate your feedback. It helps us continue improving our communication and notification systems.
