I was struck with how awesome the idea is behind these books so ordered them and they came quickly. I have now turned them over to my parents, and they are really excited about filling them in! I am beyond happy to know that I will be to go through and keep these books forever, after they're gone.

My mom just passed away and left us nothing but scriptures, I wanted her thoughts and life stories so I got this for my dad so he can give me his life stories with momma.

Great idea. I bought into this because I was discussing how I wish my father would have shared more with me about his life. I bought this so I can not leave my son with the same regret.

I love the idea of these books to write stuff down to give to your kids, so after your gone they will not forget.

I bought a storytelling textbook from Thatcove to document my parents’ past, and it was wonderful. The refined questions made it easy to capture meaningful stories and details I wouldn’t have thought to ask. A simple, thoughtful tool for preserving family history.

The books you guys sell are a great idea! I am almost finished filling mine out for my sons. It's been fun and nostalgic answering the questions and recording things I want my sons to know that they can read in a few years when they're all grown up.
My only issue was that I ordered 2 copies of "Dad, tell me your story" and I recieved a "Mom.." version and 1 "Dad...".

I think it is an amazing gift some people can do to their parents if they know they like it.

the general format is useful to remind you of what may be relevant to your nearest and dearest but not mean that much to you.it is possible you would leave out some details that the family would find funny ha ha and not quite believe what you wrote! obviously the journal is American in style and format so it does ask a few questions that relate to their culture but generally you can form your answers to sound ok for the UK.
i am enjoying writing about my past endeavours, achievements and dare i say it, misdemeanours. having read a few pages to some of the family most have said 'YOU SHOULD WRITE A BOOK'...WELL THERE YOU GO ..JUST EXACTLY WHAT I AM DOING!

The site is a scam. Showing well made journals with hard covers and lots of pages. I instead paid $28 for a cheap pamphlet, with all of about 20 pages, paper covering and cheap lettering. Do not waste your time.
