Very reliable company and great comms

The comms from start to finish were excellent. I had to change address and times a few times and they couldn't have made it easier for us to do. They also confirmed in writing everything to us multiple times to make sure everything was correct.
On the day, our pick up was delayed by road closures and the driver kept us really well informed the whole time and made it really easy to create a new pick up area.
Overall, i was really impressed and would absolutely use them again

Great service from The Coach Company

Excellent experience

The whole service from start to finish was absolutely excellent.
Peter the travel advisor was exceptionally helpful and professional and communication regarding trip arrangements was superb.
Matthew the driver was very friendly and made us feel very welcome and made for a very comfortable trip

Our airport transfer was handled with a level of incompetence unlike anything we have experienced before - and that’s despite coordinating hundreds of transfers across the UK and Europe every year.

The operations on the day of the outbound transfer were chaos, with the driver not turning up to the designated pick-up point and his contact number failing to connect, meaning we had absolutely no way of reaching them. 42 people were left standing around for just shy of 2 hours at 2am, with luggage in the cold and rain.

Trying to contact head office was equally infuriating. Calls either didn’t connect for an extended period, or when they finally did, the person answering had no idea what was going on. We were given no meaningful updates, no reassurance, and were told someone would “call us back.” They never did. Calling the customer service appalling, would be generous; it was significantly worse.
No communication. No ownership. No contingency plan. Just silence.

Meanwhile, we were in full panic mode. We had customers to get to the airport and a significant reputational risk hanging over us. With no guidance from the company, we began ringing local taxi firms ourselves — only to later discover the coach company was apparently doing the same, without bothering to inform us.
When the driver finally arrived — an hour and a half late — the damage was done. The journey to the airport became a tense, rushed ordeal filled with anxiety for both participants and staff. What should have been a simple, professional transfer turned into chaos purely due to poor organisation and a complete failure in communication.

When it comes to resolution, post-travel failures, the ‘independent review’ conducted by the company was less about establishing facts and more about deflecting responsibility. They used flight delays on the return journey as some kind of bargaining chip to offset their shortcomings. Secondly, the review concluded that the coaches arrived at the pick-up point on time. This is categorically untrue - as witnessed by an entire group of passengers left waiting in the rain. Finally, they presented failed call logs, provided by the driver, as evidence of effective communication - when in reality, they highlight the inadequacy of their attempts.

Given the chaos of the transfer, the complete breakdown in communication, and the subsequent refusal to accept accountability, I would advise everyone against booking with this company. Reliability, and transparency are not priorities of this company.

Following a full investigation, our records show the coach was at the designated pick-up point and attempts were made by the driver to contact the lead passenger, unfortunately without success at that time. We do recognise that communication did not meet the standard expected, and this has been addressed internally.

Great company!

We have previously used Thecoachcompany to book the odd coach, but for the latest tour we used them for all journeys to take our 35+ ballet production on the road. Ian and James have been our main contacts and both have been so easy to communicate with. We had one hiccup where a smaller vehicle than anticipated turned up, but other than that everything went swimmingly. When we had an urgent last minute additional journey to take some dancers home, they acted quickly and sorted it with ease! We are booking further journeys with them and find the whole process easy and the rates very reasonable.

A Little Piece of Comfort: A Seamless Journey

We hired a minivan for our work conference, Booking was very easy and staff are very friendly and kept us updated all the way. They were very accommodating to our changes and requests. The driver arrived on time as planned and the minivan was clean, spacious and comfortable. It was a very smooth and pleasing journey and the driver was very professional. We are all very impressed with the service and will definitely book again. Highly recommended!

Driver swerving all over the road from lane 1 to lane 3 on the motorway, speeding up and slowing down inconsistently.

The journey took over 6 hours of what should have been 5 hours at most (this includes allowance for 1 hour for driver breaks). We stopped for his 45 minute break only to set off and realise he needed fuel less than 30 minutes later.

We had to ask the driver if he was okay multiple times. What was more worrying was that he had another job in 6 hours time after we finished. Do not use them and risk yours and others lives, it’s simply not worth it. There is no excuse for this low level of service

Impeccable customer service

Their customer service was impeccable - especially Evan who beared with my many calls. Coach driver Andy was great and no issues with the coach. Toilet wasn’t working but that’s fine - we didn’t request/need this service. Price was very reasonable. Only suggestion is to have more guidance on setting pick up locations as we risked getting fined from tfl for using their coach stops.

Stay away

We had an awful experience with The Coach Company. We booked a return journey, where the first part of the journey was fine, but the second part there was no coach. The party finished early by 90 mins. We tried contacting the driver and company but couldn't get hold of the company and the driver was rude. Very unhelpful and unprofessional.

Following your feedback, a full investigation was carried out. Our records confirm that the return journey was requested significantly earlier than the time stated on the original booking. Unfortunately, this was not possible, as the driver was committed to an earlier scheduled job at that time. When contact was attempted, the driver was driving and could only respond via hands-free to advise that an earlier collection could not be accommodated.

The coach was available as booked and attended at the original agreed return time. While we understand this was disappointing given the event finished earlier than planned, the service was delivered in line with the confirmed itinerary.

DO NOT USE!!!

Based on both the journey itself and the way this complaint has been handled, we will never use this company again. At no point did it feel like passenger safety was a genuine concern, and the standard of customer service that followed was even worse. How this was dismissed has completely eroded any trust we had, and I would strongly caution others who expect safety concerns to be taken seriously.

We’ve used this company before with no issues, which is what makes this experience even more disappointing. As soon as we raised a complaint about our unsafe journey, the attitude completely changed.

The journey itself was genuinely unsettling and left us feeling unsafe. The driver was vaping, texting, and unwrapping sweets by taking both hands off the wheel. The driver was also rude and said to us 'I like it when people speak to me because it keeps me awake'.

What made it worse was the response afterwards. Rather than taking the concerns seriously or properly listening to our account of what happened, the company was very quick to become defensive and dismissive. Despite being told someone would contact us to discuss the incident, no one ever did and they 'closed the case'. I followed up to say no that's ridiculous and eventually someone called back.

The response we received felt procedural and box-ticking, with more effort spent explaining why evidence “couldn’t prove anything” than acknowledging how frightening the experience actually was. Safety concerns were minimised, and it was made very clear they were keen to close the matter rather than resolve it. It was dismissive and I think had it been a 'more substantial company' they may have taking it more seriously.

We were assured by David that this would be properly investigated, yet despite submitting photographic evidence, we were later told no issues were found. The implication is that our experience simply didn’t matter. Being reassured and then dismissed like this is incredibly frustrating and deeply unprofessional.

Mistakes can happen, but how a company responds says everything. Unfortunately, the customer service here was poor, lacked empathy, and left us feeling that our safety simply wasn’t a priority. We won’t be using them again.

Terrible customer service and terrible commitment to safety.

We recently used the he coach company to arrange transport for our football team to attend a match at Ashton Gate, Bristol. The communication from Peter throughout the experience was timely and informative. This was via both email and phone. On the day, the coach arrived promptly to both the pick up and departure points. The coach was of a high standard, was comfortable and was very clean. Our bus Driver, Mick, was very friendly and made all of the guests feel welcome and safe.
