Awful experience unfortunately very unsupportive, unprofessional and dismissive. Would not recommend.

I don’t normally write reviews but the friendliness of the staff and professionalism is top notch.

My dog loves coming here.

Came there some years ago, How i was judged was disgraceful, Perhaps not many muslims go there, As i walk in,Receptionist ask for my debit card, Wrote down my personal details, Knowing this was Illegal, Enter to see the vet,My dog had injured her foot,No attending this matter, Just provided a 1 boot,Totally ignored my animal attention, Next,Ready to pay,For some reason a capsule was put in her mouth without my permission, The amount was over £90, Nothing at all was done,I was judged on my appearance only,And yes a Muslim knowing there Jewish, No problem about that,My concern was my dog,Therefore was scam

I really like that I get full information on each visit of what will be done and how much it will cost. My 3 year old Sproodle needed extensive dental work and I was quoted a price which would be amended once xrays, extractions etc were carried out as there was a possibility more teeth would need to be extracted. It turned out better than expected and fewer teeth removed. I got a refund!!!! NEVER had that before in 40 years of taking my dogs to vet. Took pooch back for vacs and sent comprehensive info on flea/worming that doesn't cost an arm and a leg. Would definitely recommend.

I took my cat here for a visit regarding an ear infection, I was advised that it probably was something incredibly sinister; but as she is older, prescribed some medication that in a short time cleared the infection. On return, I had a follow up appointment which lasted all of 1 minute for the Vet to advise nothing different to what I could have diagnosed myself at home. I was charged £65 for this which is absolutely outrageous, I understand Vets need to be profitable but I honestly believe that once you’ve already paid a hefty charge, a quick follow up should be included. If vets weren’t so greedy then perhaps this would support more people being able to look after their animals properly. Also, my cat is very well, despite the grave diagnosis which was completely incorrect, for a simple ear infection. I would not recommend.

Do not trust to the The Finchley Vet, unfortunately! I have had failed to be provided Stronghold for my cat, despite she is a club membership and it’s paid for.This clinic put me in stress each time I was trying to contact them. Each time it’s a big deal to receive supply for my cat , but overcharge clients they can without any doubt!
Very rude and unhelpful receptionist, who every question runs to ask Vet, but Vet does not bother to speak on the phone. I have been refused to be given nail treatment for my cat and it’s as well is part of club membership which is paid monthly from direct debit.
My experience left me very disappointed and upset. I wish to run away from them! Is it safe to trust to these people, trust them your most precious in this world? Small business company with highest ever prices I have seen, but with bad attitude .
I have never offered to be called by Vet out off busy ours to sort out my concern. You have to email them, but they will decide whether to respond or not. I left very upset, in tears and helpless!
Please do think before you join them! Keep your pets safe!

One year ago, I had to say goodbye to my beloved rabbit Bundle, who was only 3 and a half.
I knew that the practice charges excessive prices such as £100 for any simple test, but as bunny and I did not need to go there much, I was OK with it.
When bunny became suddenly ill, I understood there was not much that could be done. However, although I paid for the full price of emergency consultation, I cannot understand why they left his blood test until the poor thing was too weak for it. Overall I paid over £300 for those last two weeks of Bundle's short life, but the peak of it was the shocking lack of compassion when he had to be put away. Although it had been agreed that the last appointment would be to put him down, I was not given any prior information regarding the incineration services that could be arranged via the practice. After several hours of research, I had secured a mobile service unit to collect the body but when they called the Finchley Vet, they refused to let them collect from the premises. As an "animal lover", I wonder if the owner of the practice understands for a moment what it is like to watch your beloved pet( who us more like part of the family) put down, then have to hold his body while you pay for this service, then to have to bring him home and wait for him to be collected... I waited one year to voice my grief but my experience was absolutely awful. I hope that other pet owners in a similar situation will be spared this trauma. Again, I am not blaming anyone for Bundle's death, rabbits are such delicate creatures and we just got unlucky. But the lack of compassion for an animal lover's loss was absolutely shocking and I would not wish it on anyone. The mobile service company were also shocked not to gain permission for collection from the vet as 9 out of 10 practices would have kindly agreed to it...what a shame.

First and last visit.
Our dog was examined and vaccinated few days ago .
I had my invoice emailed, when I got home and looked at it, I was shocked as Simparica Trio ( for treating tick) was sold to for £54 and Milpro for £15.82 .
I went back strait away and asked for refund , but they refused and said they would not take medicine back. They said that next time they will let the customers know about the price before.
If I was given the invoice while I was at the surgery, I wouldn’t have paid three times the amount for it.
They are ripping off their customers. And not trustworthy .

These vets decided to give my cat to a complete stranger who has effectively stolen my cat. All the vet says is he has fulfilled his legal obligation as he has tried to contact this person who refuses to give my cat back but he cannot do anymore.
These vets are absolutely disgusting they do not even care that they have given my beloved pet to a stranger

With our previous Springer spaniel, Archie, Oli and his team were so kind when he was put down at his old age of fifteen. We now have a new Springer puppy, Gerry, who has managed to hurt his paw twice by his over exuberance! Yet again the vets have been fab!

Over the years I have used many different vets, some better than others, and I have to say that The Finchley Vet team are definitely one of the best. Oli is the owner and I have found him to be great, when my dog was hit by a car and rushed to him I could not fault him at all, he was compassionate with me while sorting my dog out quickly and calmly while keeping me updated. He took into account our pet insurance limit and clearly cared about my dog and what was happening to her. He was brilliant. The rest of the team are great too, from receptionists to vet nurses, they all care about the pets. The Finchley Vet is not one of the cheapest vets about but they are well worth paying the extra for if you can as your pet will be treated really well. I recommend them to everyone in the local area who is looking for a vet.

This small compact Vet Practice gives a good impression from the outside, but I feel the head Vet at The Finchley Vet (trading name The Local Vet Ltd.) charges excessive consultation fees and does not provide value for money.
In my case it had to do with the vaccination of my three pets. It was not explained to me properly when I wanted to do a Titre test , why Titre blood anti body tests were not reliable and why annual boosters were necessary and whether in fact the vaccinations worked or not.
It was not explained to me that he could not guarantee that giving your pets vaccinations have risks, for owners and dog, including the potential for life threatening reactions , until after he gave them their shots!
Wanted to charge me £750.00 for extracting one retained baby tooth from my 1 year 10 month old when this could have been done at the same time of her SPAY! A spay would have cost £250.00 the extraction should have cost no more than £35.00!
Had I agreed it would have also meant putting her under Anesthesia twice!
I really feel there are too many Vets in the UK. It is a very dog eat dog profession and it is hard to find a trustworthy vet that won't overcharge or wrongly advise a procedure for money's sake. I believe that female vets, are more sensitive to pets needs, and are less likely to intervene surgically, unless a life threatening condition exists. I had two female Vets which I trusted explicitly with the care of my dog Rupert. My experience with Male Vets is that they are too aggressive with Surgical Intervention and Anesthesia (having your dog or pet put down).

It is a shame that the UK Vets have their own Regulatory Body the RCVS Royal College of Veterinary Surgeons (the body that licenses them) to oversee their professionalism. Vets should be independently overseen and or Government controlled not by the body that they paid to educate them.
