Very helpful advice given to me over the WhatsApp text service. The advice was informative, very useful to have this sort of support that is easy to find on this website (the lowdown). I like how there is reviews from women with what contraception they went with and the information that they have wrote down within their review.

Dr Fran was the first medical professional to truly listen to my daughter. We finished the appointment feeling elated and empowered, having discussed many options in a very open and honest conversation.
I would not hesitate to recommend this service. My daughter now has a clear plan of action and feels confident that she has a sounding board to use should she need to in the future. Do not hesitate to use this service!

It was beyond what I thought it would be. So quick and easy. The questions were so easy to go through and the care that this company has for its customers is more than I could have asked for. I had a really informative consultation with Dr Melanie. I had questions about lots of different forms of contraception, and she answered them all so thoroughly. Following up with links to lots of great resources too. I have never had such an in-depth, individualised discussion about contraception options before - amazing!

From my post-natal doctors appointment, which was rushed and didn't feel like I was listened to, and was told to have a certain contraceptive with no explanation to why, being told we are putting every woman on this pill... I didn't feel happy to take and felt very lost and disappointed that I would still continue to suffer with PCOS symptoms and heavy periods. A few days later I had my appointment with one of the doctors from the Lowdown team, time was taken to listen to what I wanted from a contraceptive, with an explanation to the suggestion they made. I finished my appointment feeling very happy and confident with the contraceptive suggested to me. If you are deciding to have an appointment, I would 100% say go for it! It is really worth it.

Excellent customer service.
Completely lost faith in my local contraceptive clinic, notoriously difficult to get in contact with, let alone get an appointment.
Started searching online with the intent to purchase the contraceptive of my choice instead.
This is when I stumbled across the Lowdown, and they have been fantastic ever since.
An abundance of info on the site, which I felt was important to enable me to make an informed decision.
They are also always available at the other end of the phone (watsapp), and reply promptly to messages.

Heard about The Lowdown via a podcast with The Food Medic - immediately interested as my recent experience with GP and contraceptive had been really poor.
I had a consultation with Fran Yarlett who was super friendly and personable. The consultation was amazing to the point I cried with the relief of actually having options after she had properly listened to me.
Fran explained what methods were open to me based on my preferences, answered all of my many questions and I am now trialling out the things she has suggested. I have multiple routes to try, so even if some don't work out for me, I have others.
Cannot express how grateful I am this service is available and am looking to see what else the website can offer.

I had an appointment with Fran (GP) last week, and she knew exactly what was going on with me (this was the 3rd doctor I'd spoken to!). After a bad skin reaction to Yasmin she instantly worked out the problem and we've since come up with a plan. I'm so grateful to her and it's absolutely the best £45 I've ever spent! So good to know there are kind, patient experts on hand to help, especially when our poor NHS is so busy and underfunded. Thank you Fran!!

Great service and easy to get contraceptives.

Highly recommend The Lowdown in every respect. The articles and online information is such an incredible sources of knowledge to support women/women's health, and help us make an informed decision about the contraception that's most likely to work for you. When I went to my GP I was just prescribed the cheapest combine pill, and was told they're all the same, and that I had to take it for 4 months to prove it was making me depressed before they could consider a different (more expensive) one. Via The Lowdown I was finally able to do my own research and find one that works for me. The medical team are super knowledgable, up to date on the science, and genuinely care about supporting women's health. Appointments are available at convenient times, it's easy to order, and delivery is super quick. Such an empowering experience, I would recommend x100 to anyone who wants to explore different contraception options, or just understand their health better.
