I had a contraception consultation with Dr Davis-Hall. She was really friendly, helpful and reassuring. She took the time to go through my medical history and previous contraceptive experience and helped explain the side-effects of various contraceptives and how they might affect me personally. The appointment was really easy to book - there were lots of slots for the following week when I looked - and the session itself was relaxed, even when we went over the allotted time booked. Would really recommend to anyone who is considering changing their contraception and wants friendly, informed advice.

After being diagnosed with PCOS I was having problems finding the right contraception solutions for me. I was opening up so many articles and academic papers - where my tabs would be filled to the brim with confusing information. Finding the lowdown has been honestly a miracle for me. Not only is the site super easy to understand - the consultation I had with Dr. Becky has genuinely cleared up so much. I feel much more knowledgeable about PCOS now and feel more confident in choosing the right contraception for me and my situation. Thank you so much the lowdown!

I had a contraception consultation after having a bad experience at my local sexual health clinic after they failed to insert a coil. It was well worth the money as they gave me so much information and let me take my time processing it and asking questions and I just felt I got so much out of it. I now have a subscription for a combined pill from their website and it always arrives on time even with the Royal Mail strikes recently. So thank you 😊

I have always had a great experience with the lowdown so far! Every interaction with their team has been really helpful, pleasant, and informative. I love their website too, it’s so useful to finally have a comprehensive overview of contraceptives with reviews from actual people. You find much more information there than your GP or the NHS website gives you, which is a really affirming experience, especially when you’ve had experiences with some forms of contraception that haven’t been so great.

My consultation with Dr Fran Yarlett was great. I'd read several reviews and articles on The Lowdown website which were really useful, and the consultation was brilliant to put that information into context, and address some questions I had. I felt like I had time and space to discuss what I needed to and wasn't rushed. Fran was friendly and approachable and clearly knowledgable in this area, and was able to answer all my questions, as well as advising on other areas that I hadn't considered. I felt listened to, and came away feeling more confident in making decisions around this going forward. I would definitely use this service again if I needed further advice. Thank-you!

Great service, pragmatic it has a place even with the NHS services in the UK, for people who want more control over their contraceptive health while having access to qualified clinical staff for advice as necessary. The process is straightforward and even if you don't know what you want/need there's a handy questionnaire available and if further support is needed there is the option to book an appointment with a clinician.
Prices are fair and depend on the brand and length of subscription. Also the process of cancelling the subscription is very straightforward and transparent. Thanks.

Finally, women are being provided with a tailored service - instead of a one size fits all approach, by incredibly knowledgeable and passionate professionals. Amazing website!

It has all of the information and advice that you need to make an informed decision on the type on contraceptive that will work for you. I used the recommendator to eliminate methods that were not appropriate for me, despite me thinking they were. Real life reviews by real people, even the NHS doesn't provide the same type of support.

Would recommend The Lowdown to anyone. Very supportive and non-judgemental advice. I have had two consultations with Dr Fran. On both occasions she listened to all of my concerns and reassured me whilst also giving me an action plan. She was kind and calming, whilst taking on board and respecting my own personal choices. Such a fantastic service to bridge the gap in women’s health!

Had a appointment with Dr Mawson in May. Tried the pill they recommended and it's been a total game changer for me.

Could not recommend highly enough to anyone unsure of what pill to take or who has been unsuccessful trying the pill in the past and wants to know if there is one our there to suit them.

My consultation with Dr Mahomed was super helpful, would 100% recommend to anyone! I felt a bit nervous at first, but she was lovely to talk to and put me at ease straight away. All my questions were answered and I've definitely come away with the knowledge and confidence to choose a birth control option that I think will work for me!

I had a telephone appointment with Dr Fran and she was amazing! So friendly and full of advice! After my concerns being dismissed by my own Dr I wasn’t sure where to turn for help. I knew the lowdown offered appointments so thought I’d give it a go and I’m so happy I did! My concerns were listened to and validated and I was given a lot of advice on how to address my current situation with PCOS.
