I recently completed my NNAS Silver Award in the Malvern Hills with The Mountain Girl. As a solo woman I was nervous to join the group, but I'm so glad I did because I had such a brilliant weekend. Anna is a great leader — friendly, patient, enthusiastic, incredibly knowledgeable and clearly very passionate about adventure. She obviously loves what she does, and that enthusiasm is contagious.

She created such a supportive and encouraging atmosphere that I felt comfortable asking questions and challenging myself throughout the weekend. The course was well organised, hands-on and genuinely empowering. I learnt a lot, met some lovely people and left feeling far more confident heading out into the hills independently. I would highly recommend The Mountain Girl to anyone wanting to improve their navigation skills or build confidence in the outdoors!

We had a fantastic experience with The Mountain Girl on the recent Scafell Pike hike. Anna and the team were knowledgeable, super encouraging and genuinely inclusive, which I particularly appreciated.

I was hiking with my 12 year old neuro-spicy daughter, and everyone genuinely helped her have a fantastic experience, making her feel completely part of the group, with a plentiful supply of Squashies to give her a boost at every break! 😁

Pacing throughout was excellent, giving everyone a chance to take everything in rather than just rush up the mountain and back down, and also ensuring we were managing things appropriately (I had recently strained a muscle). Anna's experience, knowledge of the area and hiking in general gave real confidence throughout.

The clouds at the summit meant epic views extended to several metres (!!), but that didn't dampen what was a genuinely great day out on the mountain. We'll definitely be looking for dates we can go on other Mountain Girl adventures in the future.

Booked on the Bronze navigation course. Information pre course was excellent. very clear. Anna was so knowledgable and friendly, always felt ok to ask any question whatsoever even if the question was silly, i never felt silly asking! Came away feeling confident with my basic map reading and learned a lot of new stuff. excited to book onto the next course. highly recommend!

I really enjoyed the Night Navigation exercise on the Malverns. It was a small group which was nice. Anna taught us how to orientate our maps and use a compass. We did some work in the remaining daylight, trying to remember the layout for when it went dark. I felt like I learnt a lot and have more confidence to navigate on my own now. I used the skills I'd learnt to hike 5 miles around the Malvern hills on Sunday.

The guided hike was amazing, fun and beautiful. The Mountain Girl leaders were inclusive and knowledgeable about the area in which we were hiking. I would highly recommend joining them with any activity as it was clear that if you were a complete beginner or a hard and fast hiker, they truly catered for all abilities. Thank you Anna and team, I had a lovely day doing what I love with like minded people

I joined the Mountain Girl team for a trek up to the Worcestershire Beacon. I've joined them before and they have a great knack for, immediately, provoking a wonderful team spirit alongside great humour. Great landscapes today, despite some early fog we got lucky with views of three counties and Wales from the Beacon. I'll definitely join them again, and if you're thinking of doing a challenge for yourself you'll be so pleased you chose MG. Thanks to all that shared a fun day and, especially, to the MG team. You are brilliant!

A brilliant course, very knowledgeable instructor who adapted well to the needs of the group.

Anna truly personifies the name Mountain Girl. She is an absolute machine on the hills, yet effortlessly engaging, warm, and incredibly competent as a guide. Our walk through the Peak District provided lasting memories thanks to her expert leadership and infectious energy and as a group of strangers when we started the walk, friendships were being formed on route. Ending the walk at the pub, although not for everyone. Certainly helped our group as part of the bonding experience. 😉
She catered to all abilities in our group with ease, striking the perfect balance between a relaxed, friendly manner and professionalism. Her attention to safety and detail ensured we had maximum fun with minimum risk, which is no small feat in the great outdoors.
Her achievements, like the time she completed the Three Peaks Challenge (among many others)are impressive to say the least. So she also walks the talk. (pardon the pun) And her support crew? Top drawer. You can tell she surrounds herself with people who share her passion and standards.
We even discussed using her for a future Three Peaks Challenge, and I’ll absolutely be calling on her when that plan comes to fruition. If you are considering any mountain or outdoor activity, I cannot recommend Mountain Girl highly enough.
Anna is someone who clearly loves what she does and it shows. Her passion, humour, and energy elevate the entire experience. Although, she did mention her time as a traffic warden was a close second… 😂😂😂

I recently completed my gold NNAS with the mountain girl, having previously done bronze and silver with her aswell! The knowledge and enthusiasm she shares, for the mountains and outdoor life, not just navigation, is truly inspiring. She guides with patience ensuring everyone gets the best out of themselves on the day and leaves with engrained knowledge and confidence to go forward and safely continue to navigate!

Just had a lovely weekend away with the Mountain Girl Gang. I went solo and was really worried about this to the point I nearly turned round and went home. From the lovely welcome from Anna (Not the Anna as she introduced herself as!) then connection from other souls on the same path as me. I had a ball. Loved all the activities, we were fed so well and the accommodation was stunning. I really had the best time!! Would recommend to anyone. Great value as well.

Anna and the team at The Mountain Girl are simply outstanding. I’ve joined their events over several years, from a survival workshop to completing both my Bronze and Silver NNAS navigation courses (no small feat with my less-than-perfect map-reading eyesight!) as well as hiking adventures across the Peak District, Snowdonia, and the Brecon Beacons. Whether you’re entirely new to adventure or an experienced, you’ll be in great hands with Anna and The Mountain Girl team.

I recently did a men's weekend in the Peak District with a men's charity called Man Up. I was a little surprised when I found out a lady was going to be leading us up the mountain as after all this was a Men's weekend! However was I pleasantly surprised when Anna arrived, she gave clear instructions, she is an experienced outdoor leader, hiker, but also a wonder women of a person, she had great energy, and really made the whole trip a positive one! I would highly recommend doing any events lead by Anna / mountain girl.
