We had a brilliant experience on the Village Midwife course with Jenni. She brings her knowledge and expertise as a practicing midwife and personal experience of being a mum. You knew you were learning from a highly skilled and experienced professional. Jenni is friendly, approachable and happy to answer any questions you have. She makes you feel very comfortable in the class, even when it’s all new to a first time parent to be. She breaks down all the topics in easy to digest chunks, with a mixture of presenting, demonstrations, individual/group hands on activities and guest speakers. She also provides lots of follow up information and links after each session. We came away feeling prepared and confident having learnt a huge amount. Thank you Jenni! We’d highlight recommend.

We went to Aimee’s classes in Leighton Buzzard and couldn’t recommend her enough. Really informative, valuable advice which has made us feel a lot more prepared for what’s to come! I really liked the way the class was structured, time flew by each week and bonus to get to meet other people in the same boat. Thanks Aimee!

I attended both NCT and Village Midwife antenatal courses, as I signed up to NCT before I heard about Village Midwife and then left it too late to cancel NCT... The main difference I found was the teaching style, in Village Midwife they talk through everything and it's very conversational whereas NCT is solely activity based and you're expected to know the material in advance. I far preferred Village Midwife; the course leaders were all brilliant and I thought the course content was much better and more balanced too. I hope that helps your decision!

I can’t begin to say how amazing this course was, for both me and my husband. We both came away from the first session feeling 100 times more knowledgeable and empowered in making the decisions that are right for us and having finished the antenatal course now, actually feel excited as we go through our baby’s birth and beyond.
Sophie is incredible, and Rachel was so lovely too as our guest teacher. Our group was fantastic and we’ve already got so much support from everyone from the whatsapp groups. I feel so lucky to have done the course and already signed up for the post natal course after my baby is born.

My husband and I took the antenatal course back in November and it was so refreshing to be on a course that prepared us for pregnancy, birth and beyond with empowerment and compassion. Sophie’s genuine and realistic approach gave us the confidence to challenge our caregivers where necessary and this helped us feel more in control of our path.
Whilst we didn’t have the birth we hoped for, we felt that because of the village midwife antenatal course, we were able to make informed choices and ask questions as needed. When it came to “crunch time” we knew we could ask to speak to the consultant midwife on shift, who helped us make our choices.
Thanks to Sophie, we also knew we could request a birth reflections session and make a SAR, so that we can understand and process our experiences in hindsight.
Pregnancy and beyond seem//ed so much less stressful with Sophie’s information pack” which is now well loved and covered in breast milk 😂

Would recommend this course 10 x over!

Our leader, Jenni, was incredible and helped us feel so much more ready and equipped to welcome our little one.

She was very knowledgeable and also non-judgemental. We felt we could ask her anything. You will be equipped no matter what your thoughts/expectations or hopes for birth and beyond are.

The course was structured well so we feel we covered all bases from where to give birth to visitors post partum and beyond!

If you're having doubts about the Village Midwife doubt no more - you will get a lot out of the classes!

Can’t recommend The Village midwife enough. The course was just brilliant for us becoming new parents and exactly what my husband and I needed. At The Village midwife they make you feel so comfortable and deliver the course with a relaxed and friendly approach. Sophie is very professional and extremely supportive. I was so impressed that I’ve booked onto the postnatal course and already can’t wait!

Honestly one of the best things we did whilst pregnant. Put our minds at ease about the birth, all classes were so informative and Alessia (midwife) was so helpful with any questions. Made some great friends along the way too. Would recommend to anyone that is expecting!

Absolutely amazing. Would highly recommend, Sophie’s knowledge is fantastic and evidence based/current, taught in a way which really sticks and is relatable to everyday life. The other guest speakers were brilliant as well. In general reassuring and always felt like you could ask anything. The time goes so quickly and already booked the postnatal course as feel like it will be a life saver.

This was the single best thing we did to prepare for our first baby. Sophie was fantastic and really helped us to think through our birth priorities and plan for how to advocate for me during labour. Even during labour, she sent me some really helpful info about birth positions after an epidural. She has been brilliant afterwards too, answering panicked first time parent messages from me about sleep! Every single person in our antenatal course signed up for the postnatal course too which was such a good source of support. I do not know how I would have survived the first few months without this group!

Can't recommend highly enough!

This course is a must for anyone who is having a first baby. I started the course clueless and with no idea what to expect. After the course I felt informed and empowered to be able to make my own choices. I also met lots of other future parents in the same position as me.

I cannot recommend this course enough! We are expecting our first child so we wanted to be as ready as possible. We read lots of book but nothing compares to live sessions where you can ask questions. It was incredibly informative, open and empowering experience. Kate is very passionate and approachable person which makes this experience even better. She helped us to put all the information into the right context and left us feeling very positive about parenthood

My husband and I attended Kate's antenatal course in Taunton, Somerset, and it was the best decision we ever made. Such an empowering and safe space, she has taught us so much, given us plenty of reassurance without ever being patronising. I honestly recommend it to any first time parents, as it is such an eye-opener and has brought us so much peace.

We highly recommend Jenni and her NCT classes. She is very knowledgeable and always willing to share advise on personal questions.

With this being my first pregnancy, I’ve had a lot of questions and unknowns to contend with. Not only did this course answer all my questions but it made me feel a lot more confident and comfortable in what will happen during labour and the fourth trimester. Laura made us feel like no questions were out of bounds and gave us all the tools we need! Couldn’t recommend enough 😊

My husband and I had a fantastic experience as part of the January 2025 antenatal group in Wendover. Sophie clearly loves what she does and her warmth and openness put us at ease instantly. Over the course of the sessions we learnt so much, and feel equipped for our baby's imminent arrival. We are so pleased we listened to the glowing recommendations of our friends - thoroughly recommend!

Back in October Hannah provided wonderful 1:1 antenatal classes for my husband and I! Especially helping us navigate the last weeks of pregnancy as it was cut short, she cooperatively saw us fairly last minute when we couldn’t attend the group antenatal sessions. We will be forever grateful to her and the sessions as we felt much more prepared going in to labour and parenthood. It is so nice to have little hints and tips from a midwife with experience, so it is not a textbook course! I also thought we received advice that wouldn’t ordinarily be provided in a NHS leaflet or website. It was surprisingly helpful on a 1:1 course, to mention and show the products that we have considered or bought too. Additional people could also attend, my mother in law was briefly present but had errands to run and had to leave. I would recommend the course to anyone and recommend Hannah as a great tutor!

Berkhamsted course was cancelled one week before the start date without explanation.

Alternative options are not suitable, as they are either located 30+ minutes away or too late because of the due date.

Very disappointing. Awaiting refund.
