The salesperson @ THINK PROTECTION was great, and the System works very well. The reason I gave 4 stars, and not 5, is that the installation instructions are non-existent, so you must use their remote installation help. That may be fine for most people, but I'm a tekkie and want to do all of this myself. So, generally - a 4...which, to me, is great!

Recent Call

Think called me since my system was off line. The problem was that a contractor had accidentally pulled the plug from the wall. Once I reconnected it, we went though a scn of my system and found that some sensors batteries were dead and needed replacing. While I was pleased to solve this problem, I was a little concerned that I was not notified of the problem before. In the future I will ensure my system is up to date and operational. The problem with this situation is that contractor had been in the house a week earlier so I don't understand why it took a week for Think to call me. Anyway, I am now addressing the battery issues with my sensors.

Had my system upgraded

Had my system upgraded, the Technician (Maciej) did a wonderful job, explained what he was doing, made sure I knew how things were connected and made it easy for me to understand the reason for any alarms in the future. He was very friendly and patient, very much appreciated.

8 months of no service without telling me, then "management" laughing at me and hanging up

My "security system" hasn't been working for over 8 months, and I HAD NO IDEA!!! There is no protection here at all, don't even think about it. I called in to complain, and was blasted with "AS I SAID EARLIER..." The whole point of a securitiy system is for it to be working, the last 8 months I had a false sense of security with crime at an all time high. After calling to complain, SUDDENLY my alarm modem starts beeping, these guys don't give a crap about your security, they don't deserve your money. Stay far away, and don't think twice about going somewhere else. It's all in their name, they make you think you are protected, while not protecting you at all and rude customer service as a bonus gift of garbage. Another huge red flag, is they have no internal monitoring of your system until you figure out that something isn't right and complain; that's not security, it's down right robbery. I got a call back from somone pretending to be a manager, when he told me his title was overseeing techincal support. Long story short, I asked to escalate this as the resolution was not fair, and instead of having his "general manager" call me back, he called me back again. He then started laughing when I explained how upset I was that I was paying for security services, when they weren't even connected and they didn't tell me. The fact that I got an alert after complaining, means they don't care about your family, your home, or you, they just want your money. Laughing at a customer who thought they were being protected with crime at an all time high is the most disgusting behavior of anyone I have dealt with. Laughing, and then hanging up.....................

As a local guide level 5, there is no way that this trust pilot score is accurate at all, they are most likely friends and family leaving reviews or paid reviews. Look at thier google reviews score and this score, the numbers don't add up. Just like the security you think you are paying for, when they aren't providing it, then laughing at you when you want a fair resolution.

My reponse to his response will be short, as I don't want to waste my time with this company anymore and their misinformation.

They have a 3.4 stars rating on google with only 107 reviews, that math simply doesn't make sense. How do they have this many reviews on trust pilot with such a high rating? 1 + 1 does not equal. Long replies can't cover up the fact that they don't monitor their clients. Isn't that the whole point of a security company? I have lived the last 8 months with a false sense of security and offering me 12 months is not only a joke, it's not about money, it's about the prinicipal. At this point, no amount of money will stop me from sharing my fair comment experience about this "security company" that hasn't provided me with security for the last 8 months when I thought I was being protected. I thought wrong, not anymore though.

Hi Ken. I chatted with you earlier today. I am/ we are very sorry that we could not meet your expectations. We are also very sorry that your system experienced issues and that you felt let down. Again, we are happy to honour the offer we made, to come to a fair resolution.

For the balance of the review, we want to share our side of the story:

1) I chatted with earlier today (I am the GM) and the call is recorded; at no time did I laugh. In fact, I have listened to all our team's calls with you and while we did not handle the situation perfectly (obviously from your review) the team was professional. In almost every call, it ended with you handing up on us because you were not satisfied with the employee, the offer or desiring to talk with the owner/leader (I am happy to call recordings to you for validation).

2) Our offer/ your response. We understand that you were very upset and tried to be generous with our offer. When I made the offer today your response was that it was not enough and if we did not offer you enough (which you stated) you would write this review. I said that felt like we were being threatened and that what we offered was fair and reasonable. You then hung up.

3) The system. Our systems work and the manufacturer we use has millions of systems in service. An alarm system only works when it is armed. Your system was not armed/ had not been armed in over 8 months. Had you tried to arm your system, you would have been alerted and we would have been alerted and fixed the issue. We do not monitor systems that are not armed – really basis of any alarm system is they only go off when armed and a break-in occurs. That said, your complaint has raised an issue and I have asked the team to determine if we can identify an unarmed system that is not working.

4) Trust pilot scores. The system is set up to ensure no false reviews. You can not game the system with your friends, family, etc. Our score is our score and we pride ourselves on customer service. Please go ahead and try and post a false review; it will not be validated/ posted. We do not place much merit on Google scores for that very reason; they are not validated customers and the system can be manipulated.

Again, please let us know if we can resolve this issue. We are happy to honour what we offered. We are sorry this did not end well and that you are unhappy. No small business can succeed if it disappoints its customers. Thank you, the Thinkpro team.

Easy

The customer service is great so far and the sales department was easy to deal with and consistent with following up. Easy to set up the doors and garage door sensors. One of the sensors was broken, so that needed to be replaced right off the bat and that hasn't arrived yet. The door bell is not easy (for me) to install, so that part is inconvenient. The set up time was longer than an hour, but that might be because the sensor of one of them was broken. Give yourself lots of time to set it up. I bought it over the holidays too so they were closed lots of the days.

Easy set up and so far works perfectly

Easy set up and so far works perfectly. I had a Bell Smart Home system before with motion detection that I couldn't use because my 12 lb house cat would set them. Been up and running with the ThinkPro detectors for a week and not one issue.
And I wouldn't let the DIY setup be an worry. The technician was great and it's not that hard in the first place.

Super easy to install. I had received everything second hand from family and it was a quick transfer. The person I was dealing with was really friendly, very knowledgeable and made sure I knew how my system works.
