Please please do your homework before


Please please do your homework before using this company. Just google lawsuits against them or look at how many people have filed complaints. They are SHADY. They ask for your card information “just in case of a no show” and then draft money out of your account without filing insurance. Do your homework. There are more honest options out there. Don’t trust this company.

Out-of-Network Nightmare and Wasted $310

would give zero stars if that were an option. I sought care here because my previous psychiatrist left, and I needed continuity of treatment. I made an appointment even though it was out-of-network, expecting that I could eventually be matched with a provider in-network. After today’s visit, I feel completely dismissed and out $310 for what was essentially a waste of time.

The medication prescribed has left me numb with no appetite, and when I called to request another provider within my insurance network, I was told there are only two providers—neither of which are actually in-network. An hour for an initial psychiatric session is far too short, especially for someone with a complex history and significant challenges.

This experience feels exploitative, unprofessional, and careless toward patients’ well-being. I would not recommend this practice to anyone seeking help from this service.

I would give them a negative star


I would give them a negative star review if I could!! Absolutely terrible business practices. They incorrectly overcharged me back in April. I finally got a check back in August, but it was $10 short. I've been on them for a month now for my $10. Yesterday I got an email that they have issued a new bill and are going to charge my card $100!!!!!!!!!!! I haven't been to a Thriveworks provider since April! My credit card won't allow me to dispute the charges, so apparently they just get to take my money whenever they feel like it!! Fraud and theft!

OVERALL RATING: SCAM

OVERALL RATING: by the end of my experience with thriveworks, or theive works, I just felt scammed.

I used thriveworks briefly and thriveworks assured me multiple times that my insurance fully covered the visits, this was after i gave them all the information, and they said they contacted my insurance. When my provider ended up switching practices, and I stopped using thriveworks, they slapped me with a $500 bill. And now theyre saying theyre going to sell the debt to a collection agency.

Not to mention, my first provider, was just talking off of a script. I'd talk for a little bit, I dont remember how long, I just remember the sessions being short, and then they'd never say much of importance, and then they'd just say the same meaningless thing at the end. The other end of the call might as well have been a recording.

If youre able, find a physical therapy office, most are willing to work with you and do telehealth, but thrive works isn't it. Thrive works will prey on you, lie to you so you sign up, then squeeze you dry. Find a real mental health service. Now i have to stress about this collections crap because of thriveworks lies.

what I expected

The company is doing what I expected to do, schedule my appointment with the right provider, get me in on time, the provider is kind, respectful and does his job well.

Do not use this service

Do not use this service! The reviews are all correct! They make appointments without your knowledge then charge you. You can’t call weekends to cacel or reschedule. It’s setup up to screw over their patients. I’m adding because no they aren’t available 7 days a week. Call their 888 number they gave me. It told me to call back Monday
Look on Reddit at all the scams thriveworks have done! You can’t even reply because there are so many people complaining. I’m not able to reply to thrive email. Only thing this company takes seriously is scamming people in need of help

First Experience with Thriveworks

I was referred to Katherine Hyer and Thriveworks after a life changing diagnosis. My first time in therapy so I was not sure what to expect. After 27 minutes of my session, I politely walked out. During that time I was barely able to speak, Ms Hyer went on about her child's medical issues. I was never asked "what's bothering you", or "what are your struggles", it was just a constant monolog of her speaking about her child's issues, and trying to align my issue with her child's. I left knwing far more about her childs issues that Ms Hyer knows about mine.
At one point she suggested I speak with my MD about trying a medication her child is on. I see a Neuromuscular Specialist who is very knowledgeable about my Myasthenia Gravis, I did not come to Thriveworks for Medical Advice.

By the time I returned to my home, I could see the bill generated for the session was $395. It clearly states on the website that the initial consultation is $200 and follow ups are $170. Either is far too much for a 27 minute session to hear about her childs issues.

I really like the therapist that I was referred to by several people. Laura Borell is an excellent therapist! She takes the time necessary to learn about her clients.

My therapist is great and listens to me


My therapist is great and listens to me and really helps me. The only thing I don’t like is that I wish the sessions were longer than an hour. Cause I feel like by the time I’m really getting to the part where it’s “getting good” time is up and by the time I have the next session I’ll probably been done forgot where we left off at.

Find something else

From billing mishaps, to dealing with god awful clinicians, I wish I could get my money back. The time and money I have spent trying to deal with my anxiety and depression, it feels like I have gotten worse. The most notable example with this is when I requested a letter of support from my psychiatric nurse practitioner through email. She responded with a horribly typed answer, stating no. Afterwards, I had an appointment that I was late for around 10 minutes, due to having bowels problems she knew about, and decided to charge my card $135 for a no-call, no-show fee despite attempting to contact her numerous times, only to be forwarded to voicemail numerous times. After talking to the billing department, they’ve stated that the was no possible way to reverse the bill because she was the one who placed the bill.

Good therapists, bad billers

My providers have been amazing. The billing office has fraudulently billed my insurance for the wrong code for every visit this calendar year and I'm still working on how bad and how long for years previous. Thrive has threatened collections on me due to their own error, multiple times. The providers are not at fault in any way. I've tried resolving this with their billing office many times and yet here we are.
