Purchased travel insurance for a trip to Cyprus with my family in March. I didn’t receive any confirmation emails or documents for this trip, which made me wonder if they were genuine. My trip was then cancelled due to COVID 19. I emailed Top Dog twice to cancel as was within the cooling off period and my emails were ignored! They were very good at still managing to send me marketing emails though whilst taking my money and ignoring me. Shoddy service, avoid! Will never use again!

I took out Travel insurance with Top Dog to start on the first day of my holiday which would have been next week. This holiday was cancelled due to Covid-19. Top Dog have said they will not cover claims for a cancelled holiday due to Covid-19. I asked if I can therefore cancel my insurance cover for a holiday that can’t go ahead next week and get my money back. They said no as I have chosen to cancel the policy. Disgraceful

Took out a single trip travel insurance with Top Dog. Since then my travel agent has cancelled the holiday. I looked at TD's terms and conditions for the refund of premium. It says 50% of premium and a £15 admin charge....fair enough. I followed their process for cancelling the policy and requesting a refund. My email was dated 28th April 2020. On 1st May I hadn't received a response or acknowledgement so I sent a reminder. As at 8th May, still no response. Tried phoning but it says line busy. Personally, I think they have disabled the number.
Looks as if I'll be going to the Small Claims court if no response received in the next week.

12/05/2020....as well as following the TopDog process for requesting a refund, I used their Complaints form, yesterday, which goes to their parent company TIF Group. Within 24 hours my request has been processed and my refund is being returned, today. I followed their T&Cs for a single trip and have 50% of the insurance premium being returned. I also have 100% of the medical condition insurance premium returned and the £15 admin fee has been waived.
I put this down to knowing what the T&Cs say, following the initial process, giving them sufficient time to respond to my request, using their Complaints process, suggesting where I think TopDog can improve their Customer Experience and, very important, being firm but kind to those whom I dealt with.

Where do I start. Our upcoming holiday to France has been cancelled due to the current Covid 19 situation and we received a full refund from our travel provider.
Contacted Top Dog to cancel the policy, to be told I would get a refund but days on cover would be deducted- fair enough - and then a £15 cancellation charge was levied so a total refund of £2.75 !!

Friends and family in exactly the same situation with different insurers have received full refunds with absolutely no drama,
These guys are simply exploiting the current situation and should hang their heads in shame.

I’ve used Top Dog last couple of years they’re multi trip is the best value I’ve found very easy to use the website all in all very satisfied

When I applied the links on the insurance quote did not connect to be able to purchase. Had to get several quotes before link worked
In the mean time the quote had increased by several pounds

Great policy covers all that I was looking for.

Easy to use, though it didn't ask so many medical questions this time, so I hope there won't be any problems in the event I have to makke any claims,
Price seems reasonable.

I have used TopDog insurance for a few years now and find that the price and coverage is the best I could find

Whilst booking my holiday insurance on line was straightforward i was very disappointed that i could not get speaking to an agent. I rang on several occasions and was put on hold continuosly with mo mention of how long i would be waiting. I gave up and just booked it on line. In light of the current situation re COVID19 i would have liked to have been able to speak to someone to make sure the insurance i was taking would cover us.
