Questa è stata la seconda volta che ho noleggiato un'auto da Top Rent A Car a Sofia e, purtroppo, sarà anche l'ultima.

Durante il primo noleggio, sono stato spinto ad acquistare una polizza assicurativa aggiuntiva che costava più del noleggio stesso. Il personale l'ha presentata in modo tale da farmi credere che fosse legata al deposito cauzionale, approfittando della mia scarsa conoscenza delle condizioni contrattuali.

Nel corso del secondo noleggio, al momento della riconsegna, non sono stati riscontrati danni. Tuttavia, mi è stato addebitato un importo di circa 90 euro semplicemente perché i tappetini risultavano, a loro dire, sporchi. Nessuno mi aveva informato che l'auto dovesse essere restituita dopo un lavaggio o una pulizia professionale e, a mio avviso, le condizioni del veicolo non giustificavano un addebito così eccessivo.

Alla luce di queste due esperienze, ritengo che le pratiche dell'azienda siano poco trasparenti, scorrette e mirate esclusivamente a ottenere pagamenti extra dai clienti.

Consiglio vivamente a chiunque stia pensando di noleggiare un veicolo presso questa società di prestare la massima attenzione, di richiedere tutte le condizioni per iscritto e di fotografare sia l'esterno che l'interno dell'auto prima di riconsegnarla.

Non noleggerò mai più un'auto da Top Rent A Car.

This was my second time renting a car from Top Rent A Car in Sofia, and unfortunately it will also be my last.

During my first rental, I was pressured into purchasing an additional insurance policy that cost more than the rental itself. The staff presented it in a way that led me to believe it was connected to the security deposit, taking advantage of my limited understanding of the terms.

During my second rental, when I returned the vehicle, no damage was found. However, I was charged approximately €90 simply because the floor mats were allegedly dirty. Nobody had informed me that the car had to be returned professionally washed or cleaned, and in my opinion its condition did not justify such an excessive charge.

Based on these two experiences, I found the company’s practices unclear, unfair and focused on extracting additional payments from customers.

I strongly advise anyone considering renting from this company to be extremely careful, request every condition in writing and photograph both the exterior and interior of the vehicle before returning it.

I will not rent from Top Rent A Car again.

Quick, to the point, exactly what we requested and required

Wij huurden een auto in Sofia. Vooraf hebben ze erg meegedacht, omdat wij ook naar Kosovo wilden rijden en dat kan niet met elke auto. Ze gaven meerdere opties. Ze spraken goed Engels, auto was vrij nieuw. Ze hebben de administratie goed op orde.
Terugbrengen ging erg soepel en het busje bracht ons direct naar de juiste terminal. Er was water en een toilet bij het ophaal/wegbrengpunt.
Minpuntjes: de ruitenvloeistof was niet bijgevuld en wat wij ook niet fijn vonden waren de grote stikkers op de auto met reclame voor Top Rent. We krijgen het gevoel dat het inbraakgevoeliger is, omdat men kan denken dat er veel spullen in auto liggen. Overigens is inbraak bij ons niet gebeurd.

Great service, and also very friendly people. we will come back, for sure!

Ordered the car in same day at 15:00 however appeared earlier in the morning. They did maximum to release the car earlier. Warm and professional service. Highly recommended.

Certainly. I’d keep it balanced and factual for Trustpilot, because there were positives, but the condition of the car and the warning lights are legitimate concerns.

We rented a car from Top Rent-A-Car in Bulgaria through Wizz Air. Overall, the experience was mixed.

Starting with the pickup process: we landed at Terminal 1 and headed to the rental booth as instructed in the email. When we arrived, the booth was closed, despite a sticker stating that it should be open 24/7. We weren't the only ones waiting, as another couple was in the same situation.

I called the customer care number and was told to go outside and wait for the shuttle bus. Unfortunately, there was no clear signage showing where we were supposed to wait. We walked around for a while and eventually spotted the shuttle by coincidence. Since we weren't at the correct pickup point, the driver actually had to stop in the middle of the road to collect us. Clearer instructions or signage would definitely improve this part of the experience.

The shuttle then took us to the main office, where we collected the car. The vehicle was modern and clean, but it already had quite a lot of cosmetic damage — around 15 scratches/marks were listed on the inspection sheet. To their credit, all of these were clearly documented before we took the car.

Shortly after we started driving, the tyre-pressure warning came on. I stopped at the first petrol station, checked the tyre pressures, reset the system and continued. The following day, the warning came on again. For the first few days, I kept stopping to check the tyres, but the pressures remained stable, so eventually I assumed there was an issue with the sensor rather than the tyres themselves.

There was also a noticeable rattling noise coming from the driver's window/door area when driving above approximately 90 km/h. Thankfully, we didn't use the car extensively, so this wasn't a major inconvenience.

The most concerning issue happened on our final day while driving back to return the car, when a red engine oil/oil pressure warning light came on. This was understandably worrying, especially when you're driving a rental car in another country. After stopping the car and restarting it, the warning disappeared, and thankfully we made it back to the office without any further issues.

My impression is that the car would benefit from a thorough service and inspection before being rented out again. Even if some of these warnings were simply sensor issues, seeing repeated tyre-pressure warnings and then a red oil warning light doesn't give you much confidence in the vehicle.

On the positive side, apart from these issues, the car was modern, clean and drove as expected. The return process was also very quick and straightforward, with no problems whatsoever.

Overall, I think the experience could have been much better with clearer airport pickup instructions and, more importantly, a more thorough mechanical check of the vehicle before handing it over to the next customer.

The personnel is friendly and efficient, the cars are new, overall a easy smooth transaction and peace of mind.

As usual everything was fine. Cars I am getting recentlt are not new, but it actually doies not matter - they are well maintained, so I have never had any trouble with them

This is exactly how every rental company should work: friendly staff, contradictory check of the car at pick-up and drop-off, rather low deposit (€ 480), no haggling for extra insurance and immediate chargeback of your deposit on the spot at drop-off. Moreover, all staff was very friendly (person at Terminal 2 office, minivan driver, staff handling the contract and the person helping us to connect the phone to the Android Auto system of the car). I rent lots of cars every year in all parts of the world and I can't fault this company on anything. Everything was perfect from the start until the end! 👍🏻 The best car rental company I've ever used. Oh yes, I was going to forget: they also provided reduction cards for several petrol stations, paid for the toll on the Bulgarian roads and told us not to wash the car (it's included). 👌🏻 I know there is a competition going on between staff members, so the person handling the contract was called Ivan Ivanov but everyone was great (especially the person who helped us with Android Auto). A small remark would be that our voucher only mentioned the phone number of the office at Terminal 2, while we actually had to pick-up the car at the Head Office (we didn't know that). Moreover, when we tried calling this number (we arrived at Terminal 1), the number didn't seem to be working. Something to check by you guys at Top Rent a Car (but I'm sure you will). Fortunately, after having taken the bus to Terminal 2, we could speak to someone at the office in Terminal 2 but we lost lots of time at arrival because of this wrong and incomplete information.

All in all a great car, with a spacious trunk, which is very usefull as a tourist... The only downside is the center rear seat (we were 5 passengers), where there's not enough place for the passenger's feet.

Efficaci e chiari nella scelta delle auto e dei servizi connessi. Ho richiesto tra gli optional la documentazione per l'espatrio ed è stata realizzata preventivamente dall'Italia con un guadagno di tempo notevole. Infatti, consegna dell'auto in aeroporto in tempi record (nonostante il netto ritardo del volo da Roma). Ottima l'auto. Riconsegna dell'auto in tempi altrettanto veloci. Addetti molto cortesi e professionali. Sicuramente ripeterò l'esperienza con Top Rent Car
