...appalling, change supplier as soon as you can

I agree with Matthew West, Kiffy, all the recent 1 stars. Don't use this Energy supplier.

Having tried to take on the account in May when we moved house, and been asked repeatedly for the same information over, and over again, despite them and the outgoing occupier having provided it repeatedly, we realised best option was to change supplier asap, so asked Octopus to take it on 10th July (who have been incredibly efficient)

However Total have failed to provide a final bill based on the accurate readings for the final day before Octopus took over, and are pursuing us for a fictional estimated bill of £600, which is 1236 units over the accurate final reads.

Despite repeatedly requesting a new, revised, accurate final bill, they keep sending the same request for the £600 estimated bill. Each time I copy my request to 6 different emails (shown here) at Total, in the hope someone competent might actually do something about it, but no.

My advice. Take pictures of your meter readings, same time, a week apart, and then find a new supplier as soon as you can.

What a laugh that Trust Pilot will send this to info*totalenergies.com!

If I get a response to this review from them, I'll add that email to the 6 others I've been copying ....

Here are all the emails I've sent my communications to - and received nothing but responses that clearly demonstrate no one at Total gives a toss, or can't be bothered to actually read them. I have had to put a * to replace the @, because Trust Pilot don't allow emails in their reviews

please do not use this awful company

this company is an absolute joke .

staff do not know what they are doing and are so rude and do not want to help. without even trying to contact me when they BROKE IN AND DISCONNECTED US (my contact detail on a swing board as they came in) due to previous tenant oh and then CHANGED THE LOCK. still 12 months on the case going the ombudsman still have new issues all the time latest one set a payment plan after the resolutions had been done from the ombudsman set that up wrong leaving me thinking we had finished paying off to then find we still owed some more when the debt collection letter came . now they will not take accountability for the error not being picked up and me not being informed

company a total nightmare

company a total nightmare. I would avoid at all costs. apart from their crooked contracts, i vacated a premises and they had several months notice. they keep asking for information they have been provided. after several months after leaving, they still continue to raise invoices and send debt collection.

Awful Company

Awful Company - Stay away.

I have been locked into a 6-year contract since 2019 at a noncompetitive rate. I am not able to switch because of a conversation between part time staff member and a broker salesperson... which resulted in a long-term contract being agreed.

I wasn’t even informed and certainly not approved by me as the company owner (I would have thought this necessary)

I suspect the contract may be fraudulent to earn commission
 but despite many emails and complaints TotalEnergies will not allow me to switch to a cheaper provider, I have disputed invoices but if I hold back payments, I get letters threatening to cut off my supply and the problem isn’t resolved. I guess unfortunately I will have to sit it out until 2025.

Je suis sans électricité dans ma maison depuis un mois à cause d'une erreur de cette entreprise. J'essaie chaque jour de régler ma situation avec eux mais le systÚme est tout simplement horrible.

Si j'écris un e-mail, ils me disent d'appeler. Lorsque j'appelle, soit ils me disent de résoudre le problÚme par email, soit ils raccrochent simplement au milieu du « service »

J'engage une action en justice contre cette entreprise car le mois dernier, j'ai payé environ DEUX MILLE EUROS et je n'ai pas pu cuisiner ni me doucher à la maison en leur nom pendant un mois.

Je recommande à tous ceux qui recherchent un service de qualité et une bonne assistance technique d'ÉVITER cette entreprise.

Very Helpful Complaints Department

The ongoing problem we had resulted in the EBRS discount being left off.
When I got through to Amanda Strudwick she instructed the team to credit and then re-issue the invoices with the discount on. The account is in credit.
This was exactly the result we needed and now are receiving a refund. Today the case has been closed and the refund on it's way.
Thanks Mandy for sorting everything!

You are the worst company I have ever


You are the worst company I have ever dealt with. You took over nine hundred pounds from my account with the account in credit.
I have been trying to get it refunded you owe me £1402.14. You have ignored my many attempts to get the refund. All you do is say we are very sorry and then ignore me.

Absolutely disgusting company with the


Absolutely disgusting company with the rudest staff ever. No customer service skills. I'm suffering from severe mental health due to my partners recent suicide and have attempted to pay my bill several times but theu want to gain a warrent and cut my electricity supply off rather than resolve it. I'm struggling to keep my business going as I'm signed off work with metal and physical health. Total energies have been made aware if this several times yet continue to pursue and push me to the brink. Horrid company.

Company is pure evil

My dad was 86 and was called up and talked into changing his account to total energy. They then went on to double his bill
We found a couple of times for help, but they were not helpful at all
Since my dad has passed away, and they still won’t let him out of his contract, even with a death certificate
This company is pure evil

Worst company ever to try and switch


Worst company ever to try and switch away from ,they said I was in contract for another year hence why they blocked my move ,my contract actually ended within 30 days of them being notified ,terrible company and is still doing everything now to stop me from leaving ,there complaints process is a shambles I am still waiting for a response ,sorry I got a response today saying the complaints handler was on jury service ? (So pass me into someone else ,I really need to know how to get in touch with the onbudsman to take this further ,they have now put me on there variable rate exorbitant . Avoid this company at all costs nightmare to deal with .

I had a very difficult and challenging


I had a very difficult and challenging time dealing with estimated bills with no relationship to the amount of electricity consumed - and finding it impossible to communicate with the billing department. However, in the end I sent in a formal complaint, which was dealt with by Amanda Strudwick (senior complaint handler) who did a marvellous job sorting the matter out.

You acknowledge my complaint with messages to confirm your complaints team will be in touch, WHEN?
I do not know why you were supplying electricity to the 3 bedroom RESIDENTIAL home I purchased, as you apparently only supply for commercial use. All I do know is that my family has been living in our home for 25 days without electricity due to some issue with the previous occupant. You want me to pay you £980 with their name as the reference, before you will re-energise the meter. BLACKMAIL comes to mind. Your company is guilty of the neglect of an innocent family.

The level of incompetence shown by Total Energies is actually astonishing. Rarely have I ever had to deal with a company that is so spectacularly useless. Just getting a bill in our name after taking on a lease on a new build has taken hours and hours and countless emails and calls and even after 3 months it is still not complete.

DO NOT HAVE ANY DEALINGS WITH THIS COMPANY

As others have said-if I could give zero stars that would be too many. The whole set-up is an incompetent shambles. I really struggled to get a bill and when I finally did I paid it straight away by cheque in the post. They have received it because it is shown on my bank statement as having been presented. Now they are sending me letters threatening debt recovery and legal action which will result in additional charges being payable by me.DO NOT HAVE ANY DEALINGS WITH THIS COMPANY

this company has been a nightmare from the start apart from their rip off standing charges the customer service is so bad. I now have a 6.5k bill as they don't take the direct debits and them keep put ups on to quarterly dd its a nightmare to manage. I am stuck in a rubbish contract as I had no choice as when my contract came up for renewal most electric companies would not take on catering companies as the risk was high which meant the rest could charge what they want - do not used as are rubbish
