I had a wonderful experience with Overcoast Tourism. Their service was professional, reliable, and very well organized. From the moment I contacted them, the team was friendly and supportive, answering all my questions and guiding me with the best options.

The tours were arranged perfectly, transportation was comfortable, and everything was on time. I really appreciated their attention to detail and the extra care they gave to make sure I had a smooth and enjoyable trip.

The guide was very informative, kept in touch prior to arrival confirming where we were going, also provided good tips as this was the first visit to China.

We are very pleased with the trip we made to Mongolia with the agency we booked: Hero Nomad. We were surprised by the special welcome at the airport by the Hero Nomad staff. Our entire further journey was like a fairy tale especially by the wonderful girl of the guide Duuree and driver Batmunkh. It was unforgettable!

I was able to request the tour I want and was matched with a tour guide that helped me get the experience I was looking for.

TourHQ is the best! We had a very specific request and they managed to find us just the right guide - Shiva - to fulfill our wishes. I especially appreciated how you can put in a request before booking a guide and haven’t seen other tour agencies offer this service.

I was looking up tour guides for my Tunisia trip. What I need are local guides and transport to navigate the Sahara desert areas. I asked for 2.5 days of guided trips, spread out over 5 days, so I want a half day trip on day 1, and a full day trip on day 3 and another full day trip on day5. No trips on day 2 and 4.

I typed and submitted my request including budget. Almost straight away, a TourHQ agent Whatsapp-called me to ask what I'd like my guided trip schedule to be. I had to repeat my request again 🙄

Despite all this, my instructions went over their heads. 5 or 6 guides responded with proposals and everyone came back with 4 or 5 days worth of trips and quoted a higher asking price than what I stated. I needed only a half day trip for one location. Plenty of southern Tunisian tour agencies offer it as half day trip. Yet most of the TourHQ guides tried to justify doing a full day - which is not only exhausting but potentially boring to the young people in my group. For a small place, how long can you stretch the tour out to!? All the guides were based in northern Tunisian areas, not south Tunisia where I'll be. All of them misread my brief.

I decided just not to take on any of their proposals. Not a single guide is based in southern Tunisia and all the prices offered were above what other southern Tunisian tour operators offered. I did try and negotiate pricing and trip routes, but didn't get a satisfactory answer. At least one of the guides was honest about charging me an extra 100 Euro for transporting him back to where he's based, because he lives much further from where we would be based. Which emphasises the point I'm trying to make here. If you don't get a local guide, you end up paying more. Plus if they're not local, they may not know the area well enough to navigate.

Annoyingly, TourHQ customer reps won't leave me alone after I decided not to respond to the quotes i.e. I didn't like any of them. TourHQ then got another non-local guide based in Tunis to give me a ridiculously cheap deal which rang alarm bells in my head. I know the normal asking prices of such tours from looking at many tour agencies online. Did they think I was born yesterday? I ignored it and they Whatsapp-called me again to ask me why I'm not taking on any of the guides' offers. Resentfully, I picked up (on hindsight I shouldn't have). They argued that their guides are genuine licensed guides, and if I go with a local southern Tunisian tour agency, it may not be licensed for guiding. I just thought to myself they should stop playing this game with me! Even Tunisians themselves have pre-warned me that there's more chance of hiring a scammer as a guide, than going with a tour agency's organised tours which is safer.

Ultimately, the best advice I can give anyone contemplating travelling anywhere is to go for a local tour agency to where you're gonna be based. The hotel where you're staying at will have tour sellers too. Compare and do some shopping around, make up your judgement by also looking at reviews, particularly the negative ones. Because a lot of hotels and tour guides get their staff to leave false positive reviews to bump up the ratings. I don't get the overwhelmingly positive reviews for this company. Some of them can be false. Watch for those who only ever wrote 1 or 2 good reviews! Trustpilot doesn't verify if someone purchased a service before reviewing - that's why I can write this review! I really didn't like them calling me - it's a form of harassment. And anyway they still all got my original instructions wrong and tried to change my trip ideas into something else.

It has an been eye-opening experience. Be very careful of booking trips in Tunisia. Make sure it's genuine, local tour operators to where you are based, and don't feel you have to book tours before arriving there. I've asked for quotes from some southern Tunisian tour agencies after viewing their websites and received email quotes without them calling/harassing me, and I'm more likely to consider them because of that!

Edit: Unbelievably TourHQ just won't take the hint to stop calling me. After I wrote this review, they tried WhatsApp calling me, and when I ignored it, they tried calling me from a UK number. I didn't think it was them, but when I picked up and heard that Indian lady again, I just groaned inside. She said she's calling to find out how to improve their service. I said look, everything I criticised about your service is written on the review. Just read it and stop annoying me with your calls! She then said "No, I am calling because your negative review affects MY business!" I hung up on her. Blocked her number. Then a few hours later, she emailed me a very long-winded email to justify her position. She just won't leave me alone. All because I wrote a negative review. I'm warning you all to stay away from tourHQ! They pester people!

What made this great was our guide, Savvas. He was so knowledgable and made it all fun, even for our 9 and 11 year olds.

Our trip to Cyprus became unforgettable memories by the help of two knowledgeable and friendly guides.

We would not have experienced even half of what we desired without hiring this service. Our guides were knowledgeable and kind and passionate about their subjects. We will definitely look to do so again in the future!

Our guide Kumiko was fabulous and gave us so much background information about the Battle of Okinawa. She took us all over the island and showed us where the battle sites were.

I had no clue how to find the driver and guide for my trip to Albania. TourHQ allows various entities to provide their quote and itinerary, allowing me to select the one that fits my schedule and budget.

My husband and I had a great time in Albania thanks to our tour guide Migen as he was explaining the history and the story behind every thing he made us love Albania, thank you Migen for being full of energy and fun.
