I got in touch with Transform Recruitment in 2023 as I was looking to work abroad for few years. Marc was my first point of contact and he has been amazing from day 1. He set up interviews with various schools and was transparent and honest right from the beginning and this made it easy for me to select a school that I thought I would fit in. I found Marc easy to converse with and share my worries and concerns with . He even supported with taking some of my resources over to the UAE as I had packed far too many clothes and personal stuff. This was a life saver! He kept in contact to see how things were going once I had started my post and advised where he was able to. So really I can’t fault the company in getting me a job. However, I do feel as the company grows it will be able to better support and advise on stressful situations like where best to get documents attested from, ( I paid a lot of money for this ) what possible documents I might need once there, problems I may encounter when finding accommodation and the hidden extortionate costs of commission sourcing fees as well as how to avoid trips to the border if your emirates Id doesn’t arrive within a month . Although, this should really be the responsibility of the school , I found myself lost and confused as no one really knew how to solve the issue. Also knowledge of the locations of schools as this can have a huge impact on one’s social life; my school was in the desert !! It has literally taken me a year, after moving twice , to feel comfortable and relaxed in myself . My advice to expats is make sure you do your own research about the location of the schools and ask plenty of questions about anything you are not sure about . Choose a school that offers accommodation or is close to your accommodation. Transport can be costly unless you are car sharing and this is not something you may be able to do immediately. Try and Connect with other expats for tips on how to survive your first 6 months in a foreign place.
