Caribbean eSim is an absolute waste of money
Purchased a Caribbean eSim for a 2 week visit. Tethered to my grandsons phone, tried to purchase 7 times, each one failing and logging me out of the app, succeeded on the 8th try.
Set it up per instructions (although I am a techie...) and it never connected again. It shows 9.97 GB of the 10GB I purchased, guessing the difference was in the setup process, but why use my data and not their own for the purchase and installation process.
Tried messaging them, no answer. Given up now as I am back home.
An absolute shambles of a system initially, let alone the total inability to just work, even once. A waste of money and effort.
Vodaphone should be ashamed.
Ultimately purchased a Digicell SIM, worked perfectly, instantly and consistently.
If anyone other than their dreadful chatbot reads this, my requests for a refund have gone completely unheard, so customer service quality obviously equals the unusable eSim.

Absolute sham do not use! eSIM activated in country (Egypt) then just didn’t work we couldn’t access data at all. Tried to get help via app. No response had to buy a sim in country so utter waste of time and money. Can’t get any response on my return for a refund don’t use.

Avoid, does not work with no customer support.

Eventually they did refund, but after taking time to do so. Just all around incompetence.

Firstly bought an e sim for Egypt, went through process to purchase.
When purchase was going through it came
Up with an error on purchase and asked me to try again.
So I checked my bank for any pending purchases and nothing there.
So with that I tried to purchase again and went through ok.
After an hour I had to purchase emails come through, I obviously didn’t need to two and proceeded to contact Vodafone regarding cancelling second e sim.
With a message from them that they will be in contact in 3 to 5 days.
This was two weeks before holiday to Egypt.
Emailed agin to chase up after 3 days still nothing back.
So I assumed no response would come back to me and went on holiday after 2 days in Egypt I just let my wife use this sim as didn’t want to have wasted sim, even though she doesn’t really use so wast still.
They decided to contact me 2 and a half weeks later to say sorry nothing we can do as both sims have been activeted.
But if they did contact me with the five day specified there wouldn’t be an issue.
Poor customer service no apology for issues I had purchasing with no relevant issue or care to resolve.
So I would recommend looking elsewhere for eSIMs. Also connection is poor here in Egypt with signal dropping out.
Definitely not worth the £39 for each sim.
Avoid at all costs.
I will be cancelling my mobile service with them to and find a better service provider.

You were not interested in helping me when I replied to your email saying I will be posting this issue on trustpilot.
So why are you requesting information when you could have sorted days ago?

Wenn ich könnte, würde ich Negativpunkte geben. 2 eSIMs mit 10 GB für Ägypten gekauft, Katastrophe! Einrichtung ging easy, die Verbindung ging dann bei mir sehr schleppend, nach ein paar Tagen und weniger als 100 MB Verbrauch ging gar nichts mehr und zwar egal wo. Mitreisende mit anderen Lösungen hatten reibungsfreies Internet. Ich konnte nicht mal einfache Textnachrichten über whatsapp verschicken. Bei meiner Tochter ging es trotz gleicher Einrichtung und Aktivierung gleich gar nicht. 0 MB Verbrauch am Ende des Urlaubs. Ich hatte die Karten aus Sicherheitsgründen gekauft, da ich mit Kindern verreist war. In Dtl. zurück direkt Vodafone kontaktiert und Erstattung erbeten. Dies wurde leider trotz Minderleistung abgelehnt. Enttäuschend. Nie wieder.

Purchased a new eSIM form Airalo and instant fast connection. Well done Airalo.

Very disappointing experience – don’t buy online
I had a really bad experience with Vodafone and I want to warn others not to make the same mistake.
I bought a Vodafone SIM online before traveling, thinking I’d have internet as soon as I landed. I paid a lot of money for it. But when I arrived in Egypt, my wife bought a Vodafone SIM at the airport — and it was almost 3 times cheaper.
Even worse, the internet from the online SIM barely worked during my entire 7-day stay. I couldn’t properly use basic apps like YouTube, and overall it was almost useless.
I contacted Vodafone support, and they told me to manually change providers, which didn’t fix the problem. I also discovered the SIM had a Netherlands number, which is not helpful when you’re traveling in Egypt and expect a local connection.
The only good thing in this situation was that my wife had internet from her airport SIM, so I could at least stay connected through her.
I will give one star — but not to Vodafone. That star is for Trustpilot for allowing honest reviews like this.
My advice: don’t buy Vodafone SIMs online. Buy one at the airport — it’s cheaper and actually works.

Vodafone travel 10GB für 15x Tage für 14€ gekauft für Ägypten..also in Hurghada eine absolute Katastrophe..max. 1mb/s..und bei einem Verbrauch von 501MB war Schluss..am liebsten würde Ich hier 5 Minus Punkte geben.. absoluter Schrott dieses Vodafone travel.. besser vor Ort eine esim oder Sim nehmen..

Marsa alarm, Vodafone travel online gekauft als esim. Zuerst kein Internet, dann nach 4 Emails gehen einige wenige Seiten und Whattsapp. Deutsche und österreichische Zeitungen werden nicht geöffnet, Facebook geht nicht, Spiele funktionieren nicht. Support zwar hilfsbereit, doch konnten meine Probleme nicht behoben werden, Geld zurück gibt es auch nicht. Leider zocken die Betreiber am MarsaAlarm Flughafen ab mit 25€ pro Sim bei WU Anbieter, in Hurghada zahlt man 8€ pro Sim.

J'ai acheté une e-sim pour l'Inde (Hyderabad) en février. Sur place, elle a été activée mais n'a jamais fonctionné. J'ai correspondu par mail mais c'était un chabot qui me redonnait sans cesse la même procédure à suivre malgré que je répondais que cela ne fonctionnait pas. Sur place, je suis donc allée à un point de vente vodafone et là ils m'ont confirmé une erreur de programmation de la part du fournisseur au Luxembourg. J'ai essayé de les joindre mais jamais de réponse. Par ailleurs, j'ai appris que à Hyderabad le réseau le plus fiable était Airtel. Bref, dépense inutile et service après vente inexistant chez Vodafone !!!

Couldn’t activate. Contacted Vodafone. Given a “no page found” website link. Or a local number. Fully chargeable to me to contact them about their worthless eSIM. Joke. Tried to get a refund. Won’t budge. DO NOT BUY THESE WORTHLESS ESIMS.
update: vodafone esim travel in response to this review got in contact to arrange a refund. They have now emailed that I update my review. My experience is: the esim didn't work, I was unable to resolve this via their chat service, I then emailed their esim travel service 3x and each time they refused to refund. only once i left a negative review on trust pilot was the refund activated and arrived promptly. perhaps this should have happened after my 1st contact and not the 5th...

Doesn’t work in Loas and Cambodia
The eSim is easy to load and activate, however didn’t work in Laos and Cambodia. When I contacted customer support all they would say is they’re working on it. They never resolved the problem. It did work well in Thailand and Vietnam. Vondafone didn’t offer any compensation or alternative for the network not working just a “sorry”. I wouldn’t recommend it for Asia.

Vodafone Travel eSIM - No Service
I bought a Vodafone Travel eSIM on 22 March 2026 in Spain. I activated the eSIM and adjusted the settings as recommended in the Vodafone Travel app, but I have had no service since switching to it.
I exchanged several emails with the Vodafone Travel Support team. On 23 March at 15:54, they informed me that the issue had been escalated to their second-line technical team for further investigation, noting that the process typically takes 2–3 working days.
In my opinion, support for a product designed specifically for travellers should be much faster. While a 2–3 working day resolution time might be acceptable for everyday services, it is not suitable for something intended for use while travelling.

eSim slow to no connection
eSim was activated normally, but once I was in the country it is intended for, it was super slow to the point I can't even retrieve my gmails. I reached out to Vodafone immediately for support, they tried few options but nothing resolved the problem. they said they will escalate and I should hear back from them within 3 business days, but they never responded back.
Now after the end of my trip, I requested refund, but their response is that the card was activated and showed data moving (out of 10GB I purchased, I consumed less than 0.3GB due to slow to no connectivity) So their cards don't work in the countries they claim it works in.
Lesson learned for $27 to never use Vodafone again.

Der Kauf und die Installation der Travel eSim haben sehr gut funktioniert.
In Ägypten habe ich die eSim aktiviert und war sofort verbunden. Viele Internetseiten haben sich nur sehr langsam aufgebaut. epaper Zeitung runterladen dauerte ewig. Während Tiktok und Instagram meistens super funktionierten.
Andere Reisende haben sich vor Ort eine lokale Sim Karte gekauft (ebenfalls nur Mobile Daten) und haben weniger bezahlt und die Verbindung war schneller.

Voor de eerste keer een travel e-sim voor onze trip naar zuid Afrika. Zeer blij met de keuze voor Vodafone. Makkelijk in gebruik en goede dekking doordat ze hun eigen netwerk kunnen gebruiken!
Zwei eSIM für Gambia bestellt
Zwei eSIM für Gambia bestellt. Abbuchung auf meiner Kreditkarte erfolgt, jedoch keine eSIM erhalten. Nach Kontakt mit dem Kundenservice (Schnelle Antwort, aber nur auf Englisch) wurde mir mitgeteilt es hätte Probleme mit der Authentifizierung gegeben und das kein Geld abgebucht wurde. Erneute Bestellung versucht mit dem gleichen Ergebnis.
Nach mehreren E-Mails mit dem Kundenservice und Telefonaten mit meiner Bank, habe ich zweimal für zwei eSIM bezahlt, welche ich nie erhalten habe und versuche immer noch mein Geld zurückzuerhalten (was jetzt über mein Kreditinstitut läuft).
Der eSIM Kauf bei einem anderen Anbieter war völlig problemlos
