FINAL UPDATE – AFTER RETURNING HOME

I have now returned home from my Umrah, and all I can say is that I came back feeling utterly heartbroken. I feel I was robbed not only of my money, but of the peaceful and spiritual experience I had saved and worked so hard for.

Once we reached Madinah, I stopped writing reviews because I didn't want to spend the remainder of my time in such a blessed place documenting the endless problems caused by this company. Instead, I wanted to focus on my worship. Unfortunately, the problems never stopped.

The room we were given was extremely small, with a table positioned so close to the bed that there was barely enough space to walk through. The corner of the table was so sharp that both my mother and I cut our thighs while trying to pass by it.

What upset me the most was the complete lack of compassion shown towards my mother. We repeatedly explained to the agency that she has serious health issues and cannot walk long distances. Despite this, they once again changed our hotel to one that was much farther from Masjid an-Nabawi than the accommodation we had originally booked.

Anyone who has performed Umrah knows how intense the midday heat can be. Because of the distance and my mother's condition, we were forced to pray the two daytime prayers in our cramped hotel room instead of being able to pray in the mosque. The room itself was so small that there was barely enough space to pray comfortably. Also the breakfast was not nice once again so many of our members who had come on this trip with us ended up not eating breakfast at all for the entire trip and everyone knows how big of a deal breakfast is when doing umrah when needing energy to practice our religious activities

Those final days should have been the most peaceful and spiritually fulfilling part of our journey. Instead, they were filled with stress, disappointment and frustration because of this agency's repeated failures and broken promises. By the end of the trip, we felt emotionally drained and simply wanted to return home.

I would never recommend this company to anyone planning Umrah. Based on our experience, they repeatedly changed our accommodation without our consent, failed to provide services we had paid for, ignored our concerns, and showed little regard for our wellbeing. Please think very carefully before trusting this agency with such an important journey.

This has been the worst travel company I have ever dealt with.

I strongly advise anyone considering booking with this company to think very carefully. Our experience has been extremely disappointing from start to finish.

We booked and signed a package, paid for it in instalments, and settled the final payment months before our departure. After taking full payment, the company repeatedly changed our flights and hotel without our knowledge or consent. We were repeatedly told that our original hotel and flights had been booked, only to later be informed that they had been changed. This left us feeling completely misled.

We intend to report our experience to the relevant authorities as we believe we have been treated unfairly, and we want to make others aware of what happened to us.

It is incredibly upsetting that a company advertising Umrah packages, a journey of great spiritual importance, would treat its customers in this way.

If I could give zero stars, I would.

The CEO, Mian Touseef, informed us that the replacement hotel was a 4-star hotel. However, upon arriving, we were shocked by the condition of the rooms. When we raised our concerns with the reception staff, we were told that the hotel is actually a 3-star property. We had specifically booked and paid for a 4-star hotel months in advance.

When we requested to be moved to the hotel we had originally booked, or at least to another equivalent 4-star hotel, we were told that repairs would be carried out instead. This is not an acceptable solution. Carrying out repairs does not change the hotel's rating from a 3 star (which is unacceptable) or provide the accommodation that we paid for. We should not have to wait for repairs during our pilgrimage when we had already paid in advance for a different standard of accommodation.

To make matters worse, on our very first day, my father went to perform wudu using the shower and noticed that the water appeared discoloured. When he reported this to reception, a member of staff said it could be due to rust in the pipes. This only added to our concerns about the cleanliness and condition of the hotel. The receptionist also said these are the best rooms in the whole hotel which goes to show what an earth is the rest of the hotel like.

Based on our experience, I would not recommend booking with this company. We have found the communication, handling of our booking, and the accommodation provided to be completely unacceptable and far below what we were promised and paid for.
We will inform you if the CEO respects our demands for what we ORIGINALLY PAID for in ADVANCE or if he ignores us once again.

This is the worst company you will ever encounter.
Do NOT book with this company they are scammers.
They will offer you packages make you sign for them, take your money then repeatedly change your flights and hotels without your permission after taking all the payment.
They have changed our hotel multiple times after saying we won't and have said they have booked our hotels and flights then messaged to say they are booked. So they lie to you.
We are going to report this company for fraud and be aware of them they lie to you.
It is actually disgusting to hear that a company who is supposed to help assist in a beautiful journey are scammers and liars.
If I could give 0 stars I would because of how fraudulent they are.
The CEO of the company has also committed fraud by telling us that the hotel he is giving to us is 4 star when we entered our hotel rooms they were in disgusting conditions. We went to reception staff and they said this is a 3 star hotel so the CEO Mian Touseef lied to us about the rating of our hotel. It is our first day and we are demanding for a new hotel or even our original 4 star hotel which we booked and which we paid for in advance but he is only saying that I will get them to do repairs. How is doing a few repairs going to make a 3 star hotel into a 4 star hotel and we are already here we dont want to wait for repairs we wanted what we had paid for months in advance.
My dad went to do wuduh and he used water from the shower head, and it was disgusting, so he went to the receptionist and they said themselves it probably has rust in it.
Stay very far from this company as they are all fraudsters.

I have good experience with shook travels . I booked my umrah package through them from glasgow to istanbul and KSA .. Overall experience was fine and prices are reasonable . Aima tries her best .. thanks shook travels Hope to use their service in future as well 👍
