Misrepresentation of products: Very dissatisfying experience. I ordered four white spruce trees, 7 gallon pot size, advertised as average 5â to 7â feet tall. I received plants in 7 gallon pots, ranging in height 3â-3â to 3â-10â, far below their stated range.
I complained, sending photo documentation, and received a reply that plant height is not guaranteed but can guarantee the root stock will have met maturity for the container size.
I was offered a courtesy 30% discount, which I turned down stating it would take at least 3 years for the trees sent to reach the height advertised. I requested they send me trees at least 5â tall. They declined.
For everyoneâs reference, here is the location of the advertised plant height based on pot size on their website:
Go to trees.com, tap the 3 lines in the upper left corner, scroll down to bottom, tap âhelp center â. In search box enter âunderstanding plant size and container maturity â. Find that in the list that appears, tap on it.
Scroll down to âevergreen and deciduous trees â, scroll down to âcontainer size 7 gallons â. Read âaverage height range of plant : 5â to 7 feetâ. Note it doesnât say anything about the possibility of being as short as 3â-3â.
**Edit\Follow-up** How convenient/sneaky: on September 10, 2026 trees.com went into their website and deleted the container size/tree height lists used by customers to know what height of tree to expect for a given tree pot size. In my review above I gave the directions on how to find that list; now the list is gone from their website. Thatâs ok, I have a screenshot. Still waiting on a response.

My response to Tree.comâs reply to my complaint:
Yes I have received replies from trees.com from Charles (AI ?), Emerald, and Ethiel. None of which acknowledge my fundamental complaint that at the time of my order, trees.comâs website contained a list of tree heights that will be shipped for ordered evergreen tree pot size. The list stated âfor a 7 gallon pot size the tree height will be an average of 5â to 7â tallâ. Period. With no conditions stated. Note they have since taken down that list. The provided 3â-3â tree is not even close to that range.
Trees.comâs offer to provide a 20% discount is disproportionate to the large shortcomings of their product sent.
My request for trees.com to sent the 5â to 7â tall trees as promised on their website or provide a greater discount stands.

We bought two trees with a 60-day guarantee. After our purchase their website said they had free 1-year guarantees for trees. One of the trees died after the 60 days, so I tried to get refund. They made me take a picture and do the scratch test to confirm it died, but after all that, still said it was after the original guarantee and they couldn't do anything about it, even though they then had a free one-year guarantee for new purchases. I'm disappointed I wasn't even offered store credit considering the policy is now changed. It will be easier to get any new trees from Lowe's or Home Depot from now on.

I have not recieved product yet. So far, though, the experience with the website is deplorable. They advertise on price at one promotion, tell you that you'll recieve 10% off your first order and then do not honor both. They also list your total as one price on the summary page, but when going to check out, the price changes to reflect no promotion. They also force you to check out through a 3rd party which I do not like or want my information being exchange through because the 3rd party sells your personal data to other marketers and platforms.

I have made many orders through trees.com and I will say they do not disappoint. From blackberries, blueberries, apple trees, peach trees to house plants and if there is any issue their costumer service team takes care of out in a timely manner!!!

When I ordered my thujas from fastgrowing trees they came in beautiful.
I ordered hydrangeas and they have died.
I just ordered mission arborvates and 5 plants came in on their last life. They offered me 10% off that equates to 1 plant.
2 orders costin over 500 dollars is basically down the drown. I will absolutely use them no longer. What a shame.

A previous order was to be corrected this go around and the customer service rep said lets do a gift card so you just quickly turn around to buy new trees with a new warranty. Sure enough new 6ft tall trees were damaged down to 3ft and now I can't do a full refund.

I am extremely disappointed with my experience with Fast Growing Trees, particularly regarding their warranty policy and how it has been handled.
I placed my order on May 2, 2026, and received my plants on May 9. Unfortunately, some of the plants did not survive. When I contacted the company, I was told they would not cover them under the one-year guarantee because my order was placed before that guarantee went into effect.
What makes this especially frustrating is the timeline. Just seven days after my plants were delivered, I received an email from Fast Growing Trees advertising their one-year guarantee. In other words, I received my plants on May 9 and received their email promoting the one-year guarantee on May 16.
I understand that companies occasionally change their policies, but this feels particularly unreasonable. These are live plants, and it can take weeks or months to know whether a tree or shrub will successfully establish. My plants failed within the same growing season, yet because my order happened to fall immediately before this policy change, the company is unwilling to stand behind them.
I contacted customer service hoping they would recognize how close my purchase was to the change and extend the same courtesy to a customer whose plants had arrived only seven days before they began promoting the one-year guarantee. Instead, they chose to rely on the technical cutoff date.
I spent a significant amount of money expecting healthy plants and a company that would stand behind what it sells. I am very disappointed with how this was handled.
I would caution other customers to save screenshots of the warranty advertised when they order, as well as every confirmation and promotional email they receive. Based on my experience, I would not assume that Fast Growing Trees will stand behind a plant that fails, even when its warranty policy changes within days of your delivery.

Their plants and trees are healthy and some rare finds are sold by them. They analyze and give helpful advice on keeping the plant healthy should your plant have a issue. They do stand by their guarantee as well!you can spend a little more for a longer guarantee which really helps. Customer service is great as well.

If I could give you less than one star I would. I spent 600+ dollars buying four trees and four bushes. All four bushes were basically root bound and completely dead upon arrival
Three trees were also root bound and limping along. Iâm still not sure if they will survive and one tree was completely dead. It was a waste of 600+ dollars. I contacted you all with pictures descriptions of the problems and I was basically told that there was nothing that could be done. I will never use your company again nor would I ever recommend your company
I would have better luck going outside and picking up a dead branch and planting it

Never ever do business with these people!! They are not honest people. They tried bait and switch by selling me an expensive 6'-7' tree and delivering one that was barely 5' tall. I took a photo and shared it with them. At my insistence, they agreed to ship me a replacement.
This time, they shipped me a dead tree! When I asked for a refund they refused. First, they said their free 1 year warranty didn't cover the dead tree. (It did) By now I was demanding my money back and they were still refusing.
They the then told me that the dead tree wasn't really dead! I confirmed it was dead with a local gardener and again demanded my money back. They again refused to return my money even while politely thanking me for clarifying the situation.
Finally, I told them that I planned to lodge a complaint against trees.com with the Chamber of Commerce and with the California Consumer Protection Agency.
My money was refunded within an hour. Without a word.
Bad people.

â **1 Star â Extremely frustrating experience with Trees.comâs âAlive & Thrive Guaranteeâ**
I have been a long-time Trees.com customer and have purchased numerous laurels from them over the years without any problems. Unfortunately, my most recent experience has been extremely disappointing.
I purchased five laurels in May 2026. Three of the five subsequently died, despite being planted in the same hedge, on the same watering schedule, and under the same conditions as more than 30 other laurels that are doing well. The affected plants initially turned yellow and eventually died. A scratch test confirmed there was no remaining green tissue.
I contacted Trees.com to make a claim under their **Alive & Thrive Guarantee**. Their AI customer-service representative asked for my order number, details about the plants, how they were cared for, symptoms, delivery date, etc. After going through all of this, the AI actually asked me whether I wanted a **replacement or store credit**. I selected replacement.
I was then transferred to a live representative, who told me the warranty had expired because my order was supposedly covered by a **60-day guarantee**.
This is where things became particularly frustrating.
The current Trees.com website clearly states that the Alive & Thrive Guarantee provides coverage for eligible live plants **âfor one year from the date of delivery.â** I pointed this out to the representative and asked them to explain where the policy stated that my purchase was excluded from the one-year guarantee.
Their response was essentially that the website now says one year, but my order supposedly had a 60-day warranty because the policy was changed after I purchased.
If that is truly the case, customers should not be left to discover the distinction only after attempting to make a warranty claim. The website currently presents the guarantee as a one-year guarantee, while customer service is denying my claim based on an older policy that is no longer displayed.
Even worse, the AI representative led me through the entire warranty process and offered me the choice of a replacement before a human representative ultimately denied the claim.
Instead of honoring the guarantee or even attempting to find a reasonable solution for a long-time customer, Trees.com offered me a **30% discount on a future purchase**âafter telling me they would not replace the three plants that died.
I am not asking for anything unreasonable. I am asking Trees.com to stand behind the guarantee they advertise and provide the replacement for the three dead laurels.
The entire experience has left me questioning whether the âAlive & Thrive Guaranteeâ is actually a guarantee customers can rely on when they need it.
**Long-time customer, first warranty claim, and this is how it was handled. Extremely disappointing.**

I purchased a Pink Lemonade Berry 3 gallon. When it arrived there were about 3 leaves that had rusted spots. I pulled those out. I thought nothing of it since the rest of the plant looked healthy. My husband and me went to Florida for vacation, my neighbor would come over and take care of watering our garden. She told us the plant was getting. When we return home that plant was filled with a fungus. We got in contact via email with this company. They gave us tips in how to care for the plant, a very expensive plant. Well, the plant has no leaves and whatever it had, it infected our two other Berry plants. They told they won't return our money and to wait for a year. We tried to respond but they have our email address blocked. Buy from this company at your own risk.

I ordered 4 Phenomenal lavender plants (1 gal) and 1 organic everbearing raspberry plant. Due to the shipping company placing them at an angle when delivered some of the plants came out of their pots. I quickly got them put back in and planted them right away. One lavender plant died and I requested a replacement. As soon as more stock came in they sent it out to me. Overall pleased with my plants. Customer service was helpful. Delivery is pretty quick.

I have used this company for years and never had a bad experience. Big healthy plants and if something goes wrong the problem is immediately fixed with no hassles. The customer service department is knowledgeable about the trees and other plants and very helpful is making sure you get what you wanted at a great price with big and healthy plants. I have made numerous purchases over the years and have always felt good about the plants I got and the money paid. I love the excitement of waiting for the delivery of beautiful strong fresh plants to get planted in my yard.
