We had the pleasure of staying at Wanaka Heights motel in Wanaka. Beautiful clean room, we were extremely grateful to get in at the last minute without booking. Lovely views of the town and over the Lake, could walk to town and not have to worry about parking. Would definitely stay there again, super friendly staff, nothing was to much trouble. Highly recommended.

Motel on Carroll in Dunedin New Zealand was a very good experience. Tucked away in a quiet street but very central. Spacious room with all possible facilities. I want to recommend it.

the greatest asset of TripAdvisor is the independence of the reviews. When this is coupled with the "real life" experiences of the reviewers it forms a very powerful tool that allow the users to get a factual assessment

I was deciding between 3 and 4 stars. TripAdvisor is a good website for finding out what to do wherever you travel. I feel it's more useful if you have money to spend, as lots of options are business attractions. There are suggestions that are free but mostly, it's for a tourist, not a traveler. A traveler wants to explore the wilderness and TripAdvisor usually only offers a few sites to see or hikes to do, but doesn't really go into depth in how to explore, but really just rates the local attractions. So if you've got the money to spend while you are in town then TripAdvisor can be very helpful.

TripAdvisor also does pretty well in booking vacations as they can offer pretty good deals for flights and accommodation (hotels/motels, not hostels or cheap rent). The review process is solid as they ask lots of questions and review your posts. So if you need a review and TripAdvisor has it then it's guaranteed to be helpful.

I always check out trip adviser , not just for the rating but also for ideas of where to go and do.
I find the accommodation photos, location and hints valuable and on most occasions accurate. It helps me choose where to stay bashed on what I want to do, saving me waisted travel time.
I like people’s hints and tips, and reviews of things to do, help me to choose how to spend my time.

Trip Advisor has been one tool that I have used many times to plan and execute my travel arrangements. This is not a paid advertising review.

For a recommendation of a place, be it Cafe. or whatever Trip Adviser would be a great place to look but you must remember it is only that person's opinion but their thoughts would be true to form.

Great site for finding out things to do in destinations all over the world

I use Tripadvisor a lot when I'm travelling. It is the first and best resource I turn to when I'm looking for places to stay and things to do.

Trip Advisor is an amazing community of travellers who has a passion for finding the very best hotels, restaurants and activities from around the world. While some individuals or organisations seek to manipulate the ratings, they will eventually catch up to what us real travellers feel.

The best question would be how was life of a traveller and how will be without TripAdvisor. I think any type of traveller use it. As for me, before, when you travel, you have the embarrassing choosing where to go and with who to go. Now, there the TripAdvisor forum to know more about that, by the reviews. Actually, you know more about places where to go as well, the best place at the best moment. Any tips of previous traveller on the rooms to choose, or sharing their experience are also very precious.
TripAdvisor makes you meeting the right person, or the best for what you need. So, my best wishes is to TripAdvisor Team and long life, Merry Christmas and Happy New Year ! Happy Travels for all travellers !

Great platform for people to share there travel experiences

Very informative, very useful, very reliable.

It is useful up to a point but many contributors do not include basic information. For example I was looking for entry prices to various public gardens and many people said a certain place was 'lovely' and worth a visit and the price was 'reasonable' or not worth it. But NOBODY quoted a price.
Too many of those making comments are imprecise or sloppy in what they say. So in the end their comments not very helpful

When resorts or restaurants respond to our posts, it would be great to be able to respond or contact trip advisor in regards to the response as I have found that their response can sometimes be nasty or false.

TripAdvisor is the best site to check reviews on accommodation and eating out before you book your holiday and make an informed decision.

I always look to Trip Advisor in particular for restaurants as a) they generally have more reviews than other sites and b) the reviews are on the whole honest and refreshing. Sometimes I may not agree with the majority of reviews but then it’s easy for restaurant staff to have an off night. My go to place

A good site to find out what other travellers think about accommodation, restaurants, tours and sites of interest. They are usually reliable and honest aseesments.
