I used this site to find a builder for a refurbishment project. Most of the builders I tried to contact through the site they did not respond. One of those who finally responded and came to view the property and provide a quote, did not demonstrate professionalism, courtesy, and organizational and communication skills; all these qualities are vital for the timely delivery of a refurbishment projects. On this basis, I did not hire them. Following this unpleasant and time consuming experience, I attempted to give constructive feedback to Trustmark. I had to go through an unusual bereaucratic process to provide my feedback of the builder through referenceline.com, the company who collects references on behalf of Trustmark, and in the end I received the following response from them: "Sadly we only take reviews on the work which is done by Companies". Clearly, they do not consider tradespersons' overall professional courtesy, organisational, and communication skills to be important enough in their feedback process and do not value consumers time and effort. Also they do not appear to have enough transparency around the way negative reviews are handled. Very rearly one can find reviews for tradespersons on Trustmark, while negative reviews are almost non existent.
Considering all the above, I would not recommend Trustmark as a place to find reliable tradespersons.

had badly fitted boiler April 2022 getting no where with warma uk who supplied installer tried every thing to get them to redo work got know where got in touch with trust mark they where fantastic they got InTouch with warma uk and things started to get done every time warma uk started to make excuses for not getting it done trust mark got it sorted cant thank Anthony enough for the great work he put in to have this sorted boiler is now working thanks to his hard work again thanks so much garry

I contacted Ricardo Omestre via this scheme and for the first job involving removing a bath and replacing with a shower,a screen and tiling around the screen Ricardo was extremely helpful. He also built and fitted a wardrobe for me without any issues.
Earlier this year I asked him if he could replace a base unit in my kitchen for a drawer one and he readily agreed even coming out to measure and advise. However it took a long time to get the order delivered and several texts to him asking for a fitting day remained unanswered until I asked that if he was no longer interested he should tell me. He briefly stated that I could find another person to do the job and that was the end of it! I felt betrayed by someone who had been in my house, had my keys yet he couldn’t be bothered any longer! I certainly wouldn’t recommend him to anyone anymore!

I used the website to find “approved” installers of flat roof insulation. I made enquiries to 4 local companies listed. All took an inordinate length of time to reply and 3 stated that they did not install flat roof insulation, the fourth gave me a ridiculously expensive “guesstimate”

COMPLETE SCAM - DO NOT TRUST THIS CERTIFICATION AT ALL

Had a new boiler fitted under the government scheme which was excellent, subsequently received a Trustmark certificate for new smart heting controls being fitted to the premises by their electirican as part of the installation, certificate stated that no controls were previously in the property, when in fact all the electrician did was connect 1 mains supply cable to the boiler, which was a like for like upgrade.

Absolutely useless organisation!!!. Rang them for some advice re Loft Insulation, over a month ago, was told someone would come back to me..,, still waiting.. Speaks volumes of "Government Endorsed Quality".. If they cannot deal with simple queries, i wonder what they do when they is an actual problem with a Trades person!!! Who would deal with issues with Trustmark themselves!!! Feels like there is no recourse .. Trustmark is just there to provide a false sense of security and a "Tick in the box" exercise for the Government.

I had my mobile home walls insulated a couple of weeks ago and I was very impressed with the job from start to finish. The staff in the office were very friendly and helpful and the staff that did the job were very polite and hard working. Would definitely use again.

This is just another quango set up to make money off the state and encouraged by the right wing tories.
I complained to them about an Eco job not done not finished, waste of time.

He took time to fix the slates and took it a step further to design and create a wooden door arch leading from the damaged porch into the living room.

This Government green grant they make it so hard to find trades people in the first place to get quotes . I have to get trades people for Loft room insulation as my loft is already already done so I could make the best of the offer for my single pane windows to be replaced. So far I have managed one quote for windows because the window company in my area some are not willing to participate because too long to wait to be paid as they have to pay staff, purchase supplies and it is six months after they have fitted the windows to get paid. Then there are is the problem with my first tradesmen for the loft room insulation none in my area so you try the outskirts the ones that may do the work want a surveyor first and that is £150 a pop so 3 quotes I can not afford and they do not cover that themselves, it would be better if they pay the surveyor and recover the cost from the Government. I know they have extended the program but I probably have to wait for a better deal.

Strange use of the word 'trust'.
Compelled to use Trustmark companies for Green Homes grant.
Of 3 nearest firms doing insulation,the first could not be contacted and operated under several names ???, the second would not take on any Green Homes Grant works !!!, the third will come out WHEN the Green Homes Grant is running properly.

The government will never have to issue a voucher if you have to use this website there are no contractor on it for Birmingham I would have liked storage heater upgrade and doors changing I have searched got hold of one company they are not taking anymore work unless your on benefits (brilliant) and try as I may can't get anyone to quote for my heating and windows who is trust Mark approved not fit for purpose

It's a good idea - but badly executed
Was looking to appoint a contractor for work on the house to take advantage of the government green homes grant scheme. As part of this, you a re directed to use Trustmark to find a local installer - and to get 3 quotes. However, after contacting numerous businesses via Trustmark, most have not responded to emails. There is also a dashboard 'Portal' where you can set up an enquiry to send to contractors and 'chat' to them - of the 3 selected, only 1 replied sending a link which seemed to be a suspicious link as picked up by my security software. I replied to them to query this & heard nothing back. This, it's impossible to use Trustmark to contact contractors to obtain the quotes as required under the scheme.

The businesses are meant to display certain qualities to obtain Trustmark recognition to give them a Government Endosered Quality mark. However, it seems most businesses listed (and therefore endorsed by the Trustmark) scheme do not seem to adhere to the standards set out - and Trustmark don't seem to regulate this. This makes the scheme pointless.

But frustratingly, the grant scheme stipulates installers must be Trustmark approved - and require the consumer to obtain 3 quotes. But if the listed / approved installers do not respond to customer enquiries made through the Trustmark websiite, then how can this be achieved?
