Upper Street Contractors is a London-based renovation company specialising in bathroom renovations, kitchen refurbishments, full property renovations, decorating, and property maintenance. Over the past 10+ years, we have grown organically through repeat clients, referrals, and recommendations from homeowners, landlords, and property managers across London. As our clients’ needs evolved, we expanded from smaller works into delivering fully managed renovation projects, building a reputation for reliability, quality, and professionalism. Today, we focus on medium to large-scale projects, providing a structured and well-managed service designed to remove the stress often associated with building work. Our clients value clear communication, accountability, and the ability to rely on one company to manage every aspect of their project. Unlike many contractors, we do not use subcontractors. All work is carried out by our directly employed in-house team, supported by our office staff covering materials procurement, finance, operations, and project coordination. This ensures consistent quality, better communication, and full control across every stage of the project. The company is run day-to-day by the owner, a civil engineer with over a decade of experience delivering projects of varying scale and complexity. Combined with over 100 years of team experience, this allows us to plan, manage, and deliver projects to a high professional standard. We begin with a free site visit and provide a detailed, itemised quotation with full cost transparency. Once a project is confirmed, we take care of everything — including procurement, scheduling, and managing all trades — through to completion and final handover. Alongside our renovation work, we also provide ongoing property maintenance services for our clients, covering plumbing, electrical, carpentry, and general repairs. Whether it’s a bathroom renovation, kitchen refurbishment, decorating project, or full property renovation, our aim is to deliver high-quality results with a smooth, organised, and stress-free experience from start to finish.

Upper Street Handyman - highly recommended…
Upper St Handyman were recommended to me by a friend who has used them for several renovation jobs on her house. They just finished a list of jobs for me, including repairing and repainting the front of the house, wiring and installing an extractor fan and installing a handrail for the stairs. The guys were friendly, reliable and thorough, and finished every job to a very high standard. The quote was detailed and communication with the office was always quick and clear. I will be asking them to quote to replace all of our windows next year. They might cost a little more than some small contractors, but you really do get what you pay for with building work and they are definitely very good value for money.

Upper Street Handyman review…
We always use Upper Street Handyman as they are reliable, clean and do the job well.
Our back downpipe was relaced and then they came back to fix the gutter.
However this was delayed twice due to the weather.
Eventually it was done well although they arrived after the 1 hour time slot. I do think they are expensive though!

Dear Susie,
Thank you taking the time to leave a review of our service. Our pricing is carefully considered and reflects the value that we provide to our customers as we deliver premium quality and expertise. We are glad to hear that the job was done well. Yes unfortunately the bad weather lead to your job being postponed as it was outdoor work and on the day the driver was running behind due to heavy traffic. We appreciate your willingness to share your thoughts with us as your feedback will help us to better understand the needs of customers and improvements to our services
Many thanks

Very poor communication…
I wanted a plumbing job completed quickly and was prepared to pay more than market price for speedy completion. While the very significant delays were not all their fault there was very poor communication throughout. Times of appointments were repeatedly changed or not kept.

Dear Anthony,
Thank you for taking the time out to leave us a review. We are sorry to hear that you did not have a positive experience with us. We would like to point out that you had your booking on 27th October in the morning, we informed you that the time would change to the afternoon for the same day, on the 19th October, 8 days before your booking, we believe this to be good communication. On the day, the plumber was delayed due to his previous job taking longer than anticipated but we informed you about this within the time slot of arrival, and we still attended to complete the work the same day. We did not compromise on the quality of our work, despite you not being satisfied with the office teams communication. We apologise for any inconvenience that this has caused
Many thanks

Excellent work, fair price, outstanding communications.
I have used a lot of building firms over the years in different UK locations, for business and private work. and for large and small jobs. Some have been very good but, even with the best, communication has often been an issue. Not so with Upper Street Handyman Ltd. who must also be the easiest and most efficient communicators I have ever encountered in the building trade, with the help of the excellent Parez and her office colleagues and with the experienced professional oversight of Eli. The firm has recently completed an extensive refit of an Islington flat for me, including the installation of a new central heating system and new internal wall insulation, followed by roofing work to deal with occasional water ingress and the emergency remediation of a sudden leak. It was all very well done, to an exceptional standard, at a fair price. I was given trustworthy advice throughout. The business is a bigger enterprise than the name implies, with a workforce that includes a wide range of skilled trades. All of the workmen I met were friendly, courteous and careful to protect the communal parts of the building. This is a very well run business that deserves to do well.

Upper Street Handyman provide a high-quality service
Upper Street Handyman provide a high-quality service. We hired them to remove wallpaper from our new flat and then prepare the walls for painting. They were responsive and helpful in providing a quote and have done an excellent job. They clearly take pride in their work! The whole team was extremely friendly and respectful. Even minor details that you worry about, like moving furniture around, was done with care and diligence. Will be using for future work!

Excellent plumbing handyman
Quick, efficient handyman help with two minor plumbing issues I had in my apartment. The plumber was prompt, polite and able to easily identify the problem and source the parts to fix. He had to return to fix the second of the two issues but I was able to schedule this easily within a day or two. Only downside was the cost but I think you pay a small premium for the speed and convenience. Have used before and would use again.
