Upper Street Contractors is a London-based renovation company specialising in bathroom renovations, kitchen refurbishments, full property renovations, decorating, and property maintenance. Over the past 10+ years, we have grown organically through repeat clients, referrals, and recommendations from homeowners, landlords, and property managers across London. As our clients’ needs evolved, we expanded from smaller works into delivering fully managed renovation projects, building a reputation for reliability, quality, and professionalism. Today, we focus on medium to large-scale projects, providing a structured and well-managed service designed to remove the stress often associated with building work. Our clients value clear communication, accountability, and the ability to rely on one company to manage every aspect of their project. Unlike many contractors, we do not use subcontractors. All work is carried out by our directly employed in-house team, supported by our office staff covering materials procurement, finance, operations, and project coordination. This ensures consistent quality, better communication, and full control across every stage of the project. The company is run day-to-day by the owner, a civil engineer with over a decade of experience delivering projects of varying scale and complexity. Combined with over 100 years of team experience, this allows us to plan, manage, and deliver projects to a high professional standard. We begin with a free site visit and provide a detailed, itemised quotation with full cost transparency. Once a project is confirmed, we take care of everything — including procurement, scheduling, and managing all trades — through to completion and final handover. Alongside our renovation work, we also provide ongoing property maintenance services for our clients, covering plumbing, electrical, carpentry, and general repairs. Whether it’s a bathroom renovation, kitchen refurbishment, decorating project, or full property renovation, our aim is to deliver high-quality results with a smooth, organised, and stress-free experience from start to finish.

Excellent quality, on schedule
Upper Street Contractors did a fantastic job refitting the kitchen and redecorating the flat. The work was competed to an excellent standard and on schedule. Pedram was great at managing to project and coordinating all the different suppliers and tradespeople - it was very reassuring to know that they work with the same trusted electricians, plumbers, etc. The communication was excellent throughout - many thanks!

Efficient professional service
Parez on the phone was very friendly helpful and efficient in quickly organising a handyman to fix our collapsed curtain rail. Emad who fixed it was very prompt and courteous and did a great job fixing it, on one of the hottest days of the year - thank you, I would highly recommend.

No-Show & Electrical Qualifications Request Ignored
I contacted Upper Street Contractors for a quote for 3 jobs, 1 involving electrical works.
I detailed each job, providing them with multiple images.
When I asked, they failed to provide details of their electrical qualifications, which was highly suspicious to me.
They then failed to turn up for our home consultation, with no notice.
A 2-hour arrival window which THEY had chosen.
When I chased them up about the missed appointment, they told me that they’d failed to book it in their system and asked to re-schedule it.
My faith in their services now slimmer than Chalamet, I asked again for verification of their electrical qualifications, before rescheduling.
Their response was “look for another company to help you”, with no discernible explanation.
Wild!
My advice; if you want safe electrical work done, ask to see this business’s qualifications before giving them any of your time.
I’ve been unable to find this business on any electrical register (e.g. NICEIC), however, they failed to give me any details so…
Electrical safety can’t be taken lightly.

Third time in a year
This is the third time in a year that we have had Upper Street Contractors here to do quite substantial jobs, refitting the bathroom and kitchen and now installing an unvented hot water cistern and removing the cold water tank. As before, we are very pleased with the work and the quietly efficient way in which it was done.

Relaid old outside tiles
The outdoor tiles were loose and generally not safe. The Upper Street Contractors took them all off and relaid them in their original pattern. They also built up part of the wall on both sides of the door to give additional support. The work is good and I am confident the tiles are secure.
They also fixed a Ring doorbell. Thank you. It was a little delayed due to a mis communication but I am very happy with the result.

Old outside tiles relaid
Old outside tiles were taken off and relaid to ensure they were secure. Tricky as some tiles were a bit delicate. Five stars for the work carried out, They also fixed me a Ring doorbell. My only complaint is that due to a change of date and some mis-communication this was delayed (and it would have been very handy if it had been done in time for Halloween!)
