Terrible products, even worse customer support
My plumber recommended and installed Vertex Green Machine reverse osmosis PT-4G from Vertex Water Products a few weeks ago. I started noticing funny taste and odor a few days ago. I bought a tester to measure the TDS (total dissolved solids). It went from 75 when the RO was first installed to 150. While waiting for the plumber to call me back, I contacted Vertex to find out what the problem might be or whether I should have a different model. The woman that answered the phone was very rude. She told me flat out that they will not talk to consumers. They also have very little info on their site so I'm at a loss until the plumber calls me back. I don't know why he would install such awful product. I also found out that TDS from most RO should be in the single digit when they're first installed - not 75 as Vertex RO systems. I'd like to add, the system cost was over $550 installed.

Update - Turned out the system was defective and membrane was bad. Replaced with a different brand RO.
