Since the latest update to the app can no longer see the weights of my pets
DO NOT TRUST THEM. THEY WILL ONLY ASK VIDEOS OF YOUR DYING ANIMALS. BLOODY FRAUD.
I used VidiVet twice via PDSA and both times got the same thing: no real assessment, no advice, just the scripted âPDSA criteriaâ line used to avoid making any decision.
My dog is pregnant from an accidental mating that happened while I was unwell and before she could be spayed, as my vet advised waiting for two seasons to ensure full musculoskeletal development. Illness can happen to anyone at any time â it doesnât make you less worthy of proper care from a charity that claims to treat sick animals regardless of the ownerâs finances.
She ate a small amount of Westlands ericaceous compost mixed with chicken manure pellets, and I removed it immediately. She then developed symptoms consistent with tremorgenic mycotoxin exposure: shivering, involuntary abdominal spasms, whining, sudden lethargy and ataxia. None of this was acknowledged. They only checked if she could walk and if her gums were pink. Because the platform only allows a live 60âsecond video, they ignored everything they couldnât see in that exact moment.
They told me to call the Animal Poison Line (£45). When the poison line said she should be seen â especially because she is pregnant â VidiVet still refused to escalate and repeated the same script.
Their replies to other PDSA users are even more concerning. Every negative review gets the same dismissive line: âWe can see you accessed the service for free via the PDSA charity,â as if being a charity user excuses the lack of care. Some reviewersâ pets actually died after being told to âmonitor at home,â and VidiVet still replied with the same cold template about being âsorry your pet was unwell,â ignoring the fact the animal had died.
The pattern is clear: judgemental, dismissive and callous towards PDSA users, with animal welfare taking a back seat to reminding people theyâre using a free service.
Appalling service.
Dog very ill, video after video sent to the vet. Message upon message to say my dog is deteriorating, still kept getting the same message to monitor and ring our own vet in the morning (22:10).
Called another vet who said take dog straight in, diagnosed both pyometra and told she was septic, dehydrated and may not make it.
Luckily I followed my instincts as she pulled through and is recovering at home. I was told she would most certainly have died thst night had I not got a second opinion

I had a good experience last night with a Dr Janey. Didnât take long to get a response. First time using the service, put my mind at ease somewhat. Would be happy to use again.
So grateful for this service, a benefit provided by our veterinary surgery. I was really worried about my cat, it was late at night, I uploaded some photos and within 10 minutes, I had a video message from the vet. It was so reassuring. They gave me advice on how to treat my cat and told me things to watch out for. My cat is back to his normal self and no visit to the vet was needed. Would definitely recommend.
Appalling service.
Was referred to vidivet to see if my pet was in need of emergency care, after calling my vet explaining she has a large open wound to her face and I believed she's possibly been hit by a car. Vidivet has said her gums look fine despite not actually being able to see her gums in the video due to her distress (it was her tongue ) and the vets who referred have very strict criteria for out of hour referrals, so she won't refer.
I have since read on Vidivet website on FAQ that Vidivet is not for emergencies. Now my cat has been left in pain due to not "meeting criteria" for an out of hour visit! I will also be taking up this despicable idea with the original vet who referred me to Vidivet.
Seems like the only positive reviews are from paid members and not the free service you get with some vet surgeries.

Not only did the vets that night not listen to a word i said. They refused to refer my male cat to the out of hours vet when he was urinating a massive amount of blood and said I would have to wait 2 days until my vets were open.
My cat passed away the next day!
I contact them to complain and they gave me a play by play of the conversation in which they quoted me saying "he is urinating a large amount of blood"
And then quoted the vet saying "he urinating which is better then nothing even if there is a little bit of blood in it"
And then followed that up with its not their fault and they can give me contact details for counciling for loss of a pet.
I emailed back saying you have quite literally quoted me saying he was bleeding a large amount of blood yet the vet never asked to see a photo or asked just how much they just said he was walking so he was fine. I still havent got a response from them

Iâve never used a remote vet before and Iâve only used this service once and I would never personally use it for something that I felt my animal had to go to immediately for. I work in healthcare so I asked for red flags and was very impressed with answers, the fact itâs video is very helpful. The vet we had Dr Suzie and she replied to our further comments in a very timely manner and with so much information. Also gave us a long term solution to our acute one. Thanks Dr Suzie and vidivet, would definitely use again.
I had an amazing experience with this app. I overthink everything! She was quick to reply to me, very informative, could tell I was anxious and took her time to explain over replies to everything I asked. Poorly pet? Download it!
I was directed to VidiVet for out of hours emergencies. I had previously spoken to my vet in the day who had booked me a routine appointment for 4 days time. If anything was to change and my cats symptoms were to get worse then to reach out to these..
They are assuming this is not life threatening, my cat is epileptic her trigger is being sick, she has an abscess on her bottom and is unable to poo, making her throw it up causing her to have a seizure. VidiVet say this is not an emergency. Please tell me how this isnât?! Itâs large, bloody, leaking, black and smelly causing her pain and discomfort and to have seizures

Amazing! Quick professional advice when you need it during out of hours of your veterinary clinic. Comforting even when you need advice that isnât an emergency
My beloved rescue cat Willow had seizures 6 weeks apart, then had them on a Saturday and again the next day Sunday. On the Sunday, I contacted Vidivet. I got a video reply, quite quickly and was told to go to an Emergency Vet which I did.
Very thankful for the rapid reply.
Thankfully we're on Natrumarin now which doesn't have awful side effects and Willow, touch wood, has not had a seizure for a while.
I contacted on Monday Evening as i was concerned regarding my cat Patch. The process was easy and Dr Emily agreed that he needed to be seen that night. Its a great system of allowing you to check if an emergency vet trip is necessary or not. Unfortunately, Patch did end up needing to go to sleep.
I had to go through your company for emergency care for my pet mouse last night. I was told she didn't meet the condition of being in a life threatening condition so you wouldn't allow an appointment for her. I did my best to show that this wasn't true and voiced my concern multiple times that she might not make it through the night. I was still told she didn't meet the condition of being in a life threatening condition and that I could go to a private practice if I wanted - actually I couldn't, I lost my job and already had to turn to a food bank this month, that's why I was getting help through the PDSA. So the next morning I wake up to a dead mouse. How is it that I as a lay person knew better than your own vets?
Some people will say it was just a mouse as though that means she didn't matter, but she was a life and her life did matter, and now she's dead. And this morning I have to break the news to the kids when they wake up. Really horrible!

So easy to use, and you get a really prompt and helpful response even late at nightâŠ..and then they check in with you the following morning. Saved me an expensive emergency vet appointment yet again!
I have used VidiVet a number of times for my dogs for concerns ranging from relatively minor to more serious. Every time the vets send their video reply so quickly and have answered my queries clearly and with enough explanation that no further questions have been necessary.
Can't fault them, I asked the questions, within 10 minutes I had a video back with a very clear response and instructions. It was a bank holiday weekend and meant we didn't need to attend an expensive out of hours appointment.
Extremely easy to use and very quick and professional advice. Great for giving peace of mind on a public holiday and out of hours
This service is great!
Helpful and friendly professionals offering really supportive advice in times of need! Itâs really reassuring.
