Instructed Wake Smith on 5th September 2025 (reference LGM/LZR/304136/1, Lisa Molinari) for urgent remedial conveyancing work. Their client care letter promised "quick responses" and files "dealt with promptly."
Reality: Over seven weeks of minimal, slow responses weeks apart. Sent me on wild goose chases for documents that didn't exist instead of progressing the actual work. When I emailed critical information (13th Oct) and later complained about lack of progress (21st Oct) - no responses. Terminated retainer 22nd October.
No meaningful work progressed despite this involving inheritance risks following another firm's professional negligence. I chose Wake Smith specifically because they said they could work quickly.
Alternative solicitors responded within hours and quoted same day.
If you need responsive service and actual progress, look elsewhere. "Quick responses" and "dealt with promptly" proved to be empty promises.

Appointment to discuss making our wills and Power of Attorney. Anna was really helpful explaining things without patronising us. Really pleasant and gained our trust.

Wake Smith Solicitors handled our case with shocking carelessness. Deadlines were missed, key documents were ignored, and we were left scrambling at the last minute. We believe their lack of diligence directly led to us losing the case.

Our case was completely mishandled from start to finish. The solicitor we were given seemed uninterested and unprepared, lacking even the most basic understanding of the details involved. There was no clear strategy, little to no communication, and a general sense of carelessness throughout the entire process.
We had valid grounds and strong evidence, but due to poor legal handling, we lost the case. It was incredibly frustrating to watch something so important fall apart because of sheer incompetence. When we expressed our concerns, the firm became defensive and refused to acknowledge any wrongdoing.
This was more than just bad service – it was a failure of responsibility. I would strongly advise anyone to think twice before relying on this firm for legal support. We were left with nothing but regret.

Never pay them before they deliver you the service.
I promise you once they take your payment their communication level will go down hill and you will never get your money back.

Received an email with pricing and a rough guide on how they would resolve the issue, followed up to the email with a couple of questions surrounding the resolution, no response to this email or a follow up email.

After nearly 2 years on/off working on my Deed Poll, a colleague of mine recommended that I get in touch with Wake Smith Solicitors instead to change my name. I rang Wake Smith Solicitors at 2:45pm on Thursday, attended a short appointment at 2:30pm the following day and I returned to my office with a new name. Paperwork was submitted to HR on the same day and my record was updated before 4pm. After two years I couldn't believe how well the whole process went. Everyone I spoke to at Wake Smith Solicitors were friendly, helpful and very professionally. Definitely highly recommended!

This company operates with a blatant disregard for integrity and honesty, as evidenced by their fraudulent and manipulative practices. They lure clients in with false promises of affordable charges, completely hiding their full extent of real charges. They deviously conceal their additional charges, catching clients off guard with unexpected fees. Their representatives have been caught lying to me on multiple occasions. It is imperative to steer clear of this morally bankrupt establishment.

Regarding Wake Smith's response dated 25/03/24:

I find their response incredulous, as they deny any knowledge of my interactions despite the numerous email exchanges we've had. Trustpilot restrictions prevent me from providing updated evidence and even from naming the lawyer involved.

I implore all prospective clients to meticulously scrutinize their contracts, before engaging their services. They bill for every email and call indiscriminately, regardless of relevance, ensuring that your expenses will significantly exceed expectations.

I was supported by Victoria Walker and Lindsey Canning to obtain a deed poll. From start to finish, the process was easy and efficient. It was also incredibly quick and completed within a few working days. The team were extremely helpful and professional. Absolutely faultless experience.
