We invite all our customers to join the branch manager for the appraisal so that you can fully understand the appraisal process and see what we see when we look over a used vehicle. The appraisal process includes physical and mechanical checks of the vehicle, running a vehicle history check through providers such as Experian or CARFAX, and we run OBDII diagnostics on the vehicle to check for any engine or drivetrain issues. If the appraisal finds any issues with the car, these are always considered as part of our final offer.

Thanks for taking the time to leave a review about your experience. We appreciate all the feedback we receive and try to address any concerns our customers have. We’re sorry we couldn’t quite meet your expectations on price for your 2004 Ford Focus.

Our leadership team launched an investigation and have been trying to get in touch with you by phone and email so we could listen to your feedback and try to restore your faith in webuyanycar.com. Unfortunately, we’ve been unsuccessful at connecting with you after multiple attempts.

Like any reputable car buyer we have to price vehicles based on their condition. We’re not worried about normal wear and tear or small dings and dents, but major issues that would negatively impact the mechanical or safety features and therefore degrade resale value. During the inspection process we invite you to join us while we review the car so you can see what we see. It’s all part of our commitment to transparency. If we find any issues that we were previously unaware of, we must take these into consideration when making our final offer. Unfortunately, when inspecting your Ford Focus, we discovered and were most concerned with rust and potential structural damage to the undercarriage of the vehicle. That, coupled with other issues like missing wheel covers, meant we had to adjust what we could offer.

We try to operate in a pressure-free environment, and we’re glad we could get you a price you were happy to accept. We take great pride in our business ethics and never take advantage of a customer because of personal circumstances. We train our staff to deliver outstanding customer service with integrity and to appraise vehicles accurately. We value honesty and integrity and are happy to explain any pricing decision.

The online valuation is based on the limited information you share with us about the car and is not a lure to bring people in (that's called bait and switch and it's illegal). Like any reputable buyer, we do our due diligence and always complete a test drive and appraisal before making a firm offer.

The appraisal process includes physical and mechanical checks of the vehicle, running a vehicle history check through providers such as Experian or CARFAX, and we run OBDII diagnostics on the vehicle to check for any engine or drivetrain issues. If the appraisal finds any issues with the car that were not declared online, these are always considered part of our final offer.

Unfortunately, there were several problems with the Dodge that were not declared during the online valuation and should have been explained to you in detail before you accepted our offer.

We can see when you requested the online valuation estimate on 1/10/2023 you stated that the vehicle was a 2003 model year but during the physical appraisal at our branch on 4/4/2023, we were alerted that the car was actually a year older. In addition, the vehicle had 64,000 more miles than what you had stated 3 months prior to your appointment. Due to these reasons, we were already starting at a much lower value than what was quoted online.

Physically, the windshield and passenger side front fender would need to be replaced. Mechanically, our check of the vehicle's diagnostic computer returned a P0562 (System Voltage Low) fault code.

We have to take these into account and we made you an offer in line with the expected market resale value. We hope you understand our pricing decision which was based on the condition of your vehicle.
