We stayed in Horsham, an area we are not familiar with. I have to say Western Cars really stepped up from the first enquiry to the wedding weekend. Absolutely first class service. Polite and understanding. A special thank you to our three drivers, during that weekend.

Polite driver was on time and very patient with me. Had a sense of humour and was very warm. When told I only had card he dealt with it with a smile. Positive experience all round

I always use Western Cars and find them very professional and reliable. I recently left my phone in one of the cars and they couldn't have been more helpful in reuniting me with my precious lifeline.

Never on time, never accept responsibility but helpfully they’re always rude and uninterested in helping when they have not delivered the service requested

We’ve used Western Cars for a couple of years now and they have always been prompt and good value. However, whilst we were on holiday, our dog, who was being looked after by a friend had a suspected stroke. Paulo from Western Cars picked them up quickly and then drive them to 2 different vets (we gave him the address of the wrong one!). He then waited whilst the dog was being seen to and then took them home. This was very kind, given that we’d only prepaid for the initial short journey. Well done and thank you Paulo and Western Cars!

I have always rated Western Cars and recommended to others - I won’t be from now on. I booked a taxi home and, just five minutes before the expected arrival time, I received a phone call asking me to provide card details over the phone. That in itself wasn’t an issue. However, when making the booking I had specifically selected “pay in car” because I had cash ready for the fare. As a woman travelling home alone at 11:30pm, I had planned this in advance.

I explained that I was happy to give card details, but wanted confirmation that the taxi would still arrive as originally promised in five minutes. I was then told that once payment details were taken, the waiting time would suddenly become another 20–25 minutes. So I was effectively expected to stand outside a village pub, alone late at night, for an additional 20 minutes. That is simply not acceptable.

After hearing my distress, a kind person offered to share a taxi and drop me within five minutes of home, so I cancelled my booking.

What makes this even worse is that at 11:35pm — the original pickup time — I then received a call from a driver saying they were already outside waiting for me. So after all the unnecessary stress, confusion and worry about being stranded alone, a taxi had apparently been on its way all along.

The whole situation was handled terribly and caused needless stress and concern for my safety. Extremely disappointing service and not a company I’ll be recommending in future.

I would like to report some seriously unethical pricing at Western Care Horsham.

I called this Taxi service 4 times over a 2 week period when my car was in the garage. The first time I rang in the fare was £20. 2 minutes later, they called back to say it would be £22, because of the mileage. I did not fuss, I paid it.
The second time I rang I was told £25. Same time of day, same distance but a higher price. Again, I was told it was because of the mileage.

I asked how, when it was 6:00 in the morning, off peak and the mileage was the same. They relented and said £22.

Third time, same time of day, same distance, I was quoted £28. Again they said it's because of the mileage.

I refused at this point because it is now clear to me that this is what is called price gouging and completely unethical.

I rang back after refusing and told them that I think they are behaving in an unethical manner and that I would report them to the authorities concerned.

There were several men in the background on the phone jeering at the thought of being reported.

If you are going to run a service catering to tge public, there must be standards. Businesses like these cannot be allowed to rip off the public at will in this manner.

Please look into this and if there is no regulatory pricing in place, maybe it's time to do something about it.

Its Businesses like these that make life difficult for the general public to have any confidence in them.

Excellent service. Easy to book, immediate confirmation, great car tracking app which we found extremely helpful. The driver was perfectly on time, very polite and professional. Would definitely recommend and we will book with them again.

My experience with western cars has always been very appreciatable. Fair price on every journey, sometimes way less than other private hire taxis in the area.
Would recommend everyone to always choose western cars for their efficiency!
