I was charged £192 (£160 plus VAT) for welding a single crack on the inside rim of one alloy wheel.

Nobody contacted me before carrying out the repair. I was not given a quote, told what the repair would cost, or asked to approve a charge of £192. The invoice contains only one item: “Weld Repair to Cracked Wheel”. There is no detail of any straightening or additional work.

If they believed extra work was necessary to justify this price, it was never explained to me, authorised by me, or itemised on the invoice. I only found out the cost when the work had already been completed.
The lack of communication and price transparency was completely unacceptable. I strongly recommend getting a written quote before leaving a wheel with this company.
