Extremely poor workmanship, serious property damage, and terrible customer service
I’m a citizen tenant, and Citizens instructed Windows Plus to replace my front door and back sliding doors. The experience has been nothing short of a nightmare.
First installation visit:
Three workmen attended and fitted my front door and assembled the sliding patio doors from a kit.
Front door: Initially seemed fine, but they never drilled the required drainage holes. This has led to water leaking into my home, which still hasn’t been rectified over a month later.
Sliding patio doors: They provided no structural support for the door sill, causing it to bow and preventing the door from closing properly. During this process, they also damaged the trims and beading.
Second installation visit (a month later):
Windows Plus returned to refit the same door but arrived without the correct tools — no working foam gun and no expanding foam. I actually had to source these materials from family just to allow them to continue.
Despite this, they managed to get expanding foam all over my laminate flooring, which cannot be removed. (Photos available.) More damage was caused to the plastic trims and beading, which they then denied, even though I have CCTV evidence of the incident.
To make things worse, they left without properly filling the gaps with foam, leaving cold air pouring in. A week later, these gaps are still open, and I have an asthmatic child whose bedroom is directly above — a fact I’ve made Windows Plus aware of repeatedly.
When I called to raise these issues, Gary from the company was rude, dismissive, and unhelpful. Their only concern seems to be marking the job as “complete,” rather than taking responsibility for the damage, delays, and distress they’ve caused.
DO NOT USE WINDOWS PLUS.
Poor workmanship, no care for customer welfare, and shocking aftercare. Truly an awful experience

I am really impressed with this company & it's sad to read some of the reviews that people with no idea whatsoever have left below.
I run a small business in Shrewsbury building bespoke garden rooms & have been using a local company for windows & doors for around 5 years.
On my most recent job they had increased their prices by a large margin & I decided to get another supplier to quote. I found windows plus & used their design tool which is great, ordered everything I needed & saved over £900 from my previous suppliers quote!!
Every step of the process was very well managed, had calls from the design team, emails with all the finer details finalizing the order. I was informed of delivery dates, they delivered much earlier than I was expecting. Great company, everyone I spoke to was informative & friendly, doors & windows arrived exactly as I'd ordered & great quality, driver was a lovely bloke. I cannot fault this company & will totally be using them from now on for my buildings.

I have just purchased a house with windows fitted by this company a year ago and discovered that my kitchen window will not open at all , i called the service department only to be told that yes the windows are guaranteed by the FENSA Certificate but unfortunately the guarantee does not transfer to the new owner of the house ! This now means that the 10 year FENSA guarantee might as well be written on toilet paper because no matter what goes wrong with the windows i am not covered. The service manager was to put it politely very unhelpful but did offer to send someone out if i paid. So if you are thinking about using this company please be aware your guarantee will not migrate to anyone who buys your house.

AVOID if you value a company with integrity and honesty!!!!!

We ordered a new front door and it was delivered LOCKED into its frame WITHOUT a key. The hardware provided was incorrect and the screws were all of different sizes, which meant they went straight through to the other side of the door. The trims were provided in the wrong colour, and the initial delivery was also incorrect, meaning the driver had to return the next day.

All of that is frustrating enough, given my carpenter bill was double, and I had to go and buy a new lock barrel as my carpenter had to drill through the lock to replace it so we could actually unlock the door. However, the customer service is the bit that has been the absolute worst. They have gaslit me,ignored me and blocked my email address when I have asked for my complaint to be escalated to the MD. Luckily I had another email address to send my final letter to, although still no reply. I am having to go through small claims to get the matter addressed.

They said it was my fault for getting the worl done on a Saturday!! They also (presumably in defence of their position) sent me a picture of a random door (ie not mine) as proof that the key was delivered....I am not quite sure how they think that resolved the matter.

I have tried to resolve this without public recourse but unfortunately they have been unwilling to address the issues. They are a total sham, rude, unprofessional and I would urge you not to waste your money.

My carpenter said I was one of a number of his customers who had received similar poor quality service, I just wish I had known this before wasting my money.

Just as a footnote: Denise Steptoe and Gary Hampton who have left reviews below are the admin person and the MD respectively.... I think it says a lot when a company is leaving dishonourable reviews without any transparency

From start to finish Daniel and Nick were fantastic, very polite and respected our house putting sheets down throughout our house. They replaced all of our windows and also fitted a bow window. I am very pleased with the end result as it is much warmer in the house and now can’t feel any draft. Would definitely recommend windows plus.

He made us feel comfortable and was helpful - giving us ideas and positive and negatives to help us decide on what we wanted. Nothing was a chore or a problem and there was no pushy sales pitch. We ordered a new window and were delighted with the product and service from the fitter. The old window was carefully removed and the replacement fitted leaving no mess or anything for us to do.All staff we dealt with from enquiry to final payment were knowledgable courteous and efficient. Well done Windows Plus.

The windows are good, but the installation is very bad, the silicone and the masking

Right from the start of our initial conversation regarding our plans to update our secondary double glazing we received prompt service and knowledgeable advice. The initial visit and subsequent survey were conducted very professionally and with courtesy. However, what makes or breaks a project like this is the fitting and in this respect Windows Plus UK has a secret weapon. Their fitter Lee. He was with us for two and a half days, it was a big job, and as well as being a really nice person his workmanship was excellent and he left each phase of the job immaculate. The quality of the fitted product is excellent as well. I have no hesitation in recommending them.

They replaced old window with new double glazed. Looks lovely but sound of road, passers by, sooooo much louder than one they took out, sounds like no window in at all. Absolutely gutted :( Definitely not up to regular double glazed standards. Don't know if window or their fitting but wouldn't return as a customer, shame as friendly service.

They are really good when it comes to fitting, but after service isn't so good. I've had to have the SAME window replaced 3 times and now it's the 4th time within 5 years, don't have the confidence they're fitting it right, coz why would the same window keep needing to be changed? Now they say I'm out of warrenty as the small print states if you don't service them in the 1st 5 years your 25 years guarantee isn't honoured. Wonder if they told you that at the offset because they didn't state that to me originally.

New windows and pvc doors fitted , seem like a great team of people and lovely company to work for , stand out performance and big thanks to John Lee who was really friendly, professional and a great sales person without being pushy , he listened to my requirements and recommended best options , the whole experience from quotes to job done was a really fantastic experience and I thank John for all his help as I was a bit daunted by all the options , so thank you

I don’t even think they deserve 1star. I came back after my holiday abroad in the early hours of a Sunday morning to find I couldn’t get into my home as the key would not turn in the lock I tried many times but the door would not open I wasn’t alone I had my two young grandchildren with me. I eventually had to call a locksmith out and he had to put a new lock in he told me the lock that was provided by Windows plus was a cheap lock and I could have been broken into very easily by any burglars that knew what they were doing. The lock was not to British Standards. The cost of this call out was £210 in all. I went to the company on the Monday and explained what had happened and they refused to refund my call out charge they said that in their terms and conditions they will not pay for any out of hour’s charges even though I had only had the door fitted 8 weeks prior the locksmith said it wasn’t fit for purpose. I paid nearly £3000 for the door and they put a cheap lock on it to my horror. The person I spoke to was not apologetic in any way and just kept repeating that they do not pay for out of hours call outs charges although my door is still under guarantee. I did say what else could I have done other than sit outside my home until Monday to get someone from their company to come out. I wouldn’t expect them to reimburse me if it was out of guarantee but 8 weeks? I also had bi-folds fitted so all in all I paid this company over £8000 and this is the way I was treated. I would never recommend this company and ask everyone to read the terms and conditions also check the lock they will be fitting so it’s not the cheap lock they seam to think is fine.
I will be getting in touch with trading standards.

Windows plus were amazing when taking the two front bays off my father-in-laws house due to subsidence. Within 7 days they had completed the job in a very friendly professional manor. And were so helpful to tell us what would happen. If you have subsidence i would strongly get intouch with this wonderful company
