We had a Worcester Greenstar 36CDi Compact installed by WJF Gas Services (via Worcester's FastTrack service) in July 2025.
While the booking process was smooth and communication with Billy was professional, we encountered an issue with the installation that has caused us ongoing inconvenience.

The situation:
We verbally informed the installers that a cabinet would be built around the boiler and asked them to position the unit in the corner to accommodate this. However, no formal drawings or dimensions were provided by us at the time.

The boiler was mounted very close to the wall. It was only after we moved in and an issue arose requiring inspection that we discovered there is insufficient clearance to remove the boiler's front cover for servicing.

What we weren't told:
At the time of installation, I was only shown how to repressurise the boiler using the filling key. It was only when the engineer visited two weeks ago that we learned the main cover needs to be fully removed for servicing. Had we been informed of this during installation, we would not have built the cabinet the way we did.

In fairness:
We accept shared responsibility — we should have provided clearer specifications. This was a lesson learned for coordinating between multiple trades.

The current issue:
Two months after moving in, the boiler began losing pressure daily. When WJF sent an engineer to inspect, he was unable to access the boiler internals due to the tight fit. WJF has agreed to return and inspect once we have arranged proper access.

Advice to others:
If you're renovating and planning built-in cabinetry around your boiler, make sure all parties — installer, builder, and cabinet fitter — have clear written specifications and coordinate before installation. Don't assume verbal instructions are enough.

Our old boiler had broken down in the recent cold snap and we urgently needed a replacement. We called WJF and Billy came out to us and emailed a competitive quotation within 2 hours of our call. The install was carried out the next day and our heating was back on by 5pm. The whole process was stress free for us and the team were polite, professional and proficient. We would also like to give a special shout out to Billy's apprentice who worked tirelessly. We have no hesitation in recommending WJF Gas and will certainly be using them again for our plumbing and gas needs.

Having used WJF Gas for the replacement of our gas boiler a few months earlier, when just before Christmas we noticed a leak problem with our hot water tank we contacted WJF Gas who arranged for someone to visit that day. Mick was here within a few hours and identified our water tank was in a dangerous condition and needed to be replaced urgently. We received the full detailed quotation soon after his visit, which we were happy with, Mick & Kai arrived here at 8am the next morning.
As with our boiler replacement, the work was carried out to a very high standard and everything was cleaned up & old parts removed.
We would highly recommend WJF Gas as a professional heating & plumbing company.

Billy and his team helped me to install a new boiler. They were friendly, polite and efficient. The service was good. They even kindly did extra work to help me fix the kitchen towel holder as well.

WJF Gas have serviced my boiler for a few years. Needed plumbing repair in my bathroom and Mick attended and ordered the parts needed. He then carried out the repair soon after. Very professional company.

Follow a complete mess up by British GAS, we needed a replacement boiler pdq. The quote from Billy at WJF was detailed and and fully explained to us all at an acceptable price. The work was arranged within a few days and was completed within a day by his efficient team. All old parts were taken away and the place left tidy by 7 pm with heating on. A few weeks later a problem with part of the hive system occurred a phon call to WJF and they were down next day and solved th problem direct with Hive technical.

The WJF team was prompt, efficient, and very professional. Billy and team got the job done within a day - a full gas boiler replacement including a power flush of the whole heating system. Billy was also very helpful during the quotation process and was patient and courteous while I took my time to decide what I needed and was able to provide updated quotes so I could decide. I would highly recommend WJF Gas services for your needs.

I located WJF through the Worcester Bosch website for a much overdue boiler service. The guy on the phone was very polite, quoted reasonable fee so I booked them. Ollie was on time, was polite and friendly. He had to navigate our loft ladder to work on the boiler. He made no fuss and the job was done in no time despite having to collect a part which had cracked during the service. I am more than happy with the first class work and will use them again next time. A 5 star service and I'll recommend them to my friends. Many thanks.

I thought I had a problem with the boiler. I contacted WJF Gas Services late afternoon. I was told someone would ring me back by 17.00 and they did. They were able to send someone at 8.30 in the morning, the person who arrived was dot on time. It was quickly identified that the problem was not the boiler but a hot water leak. This was rectified swiftly at a reasonable price. Everyone at the company is so polite, professional and helpful. I have used Billy and his team before and will continue to do so. They always do what they say they will and turn up on time at costs that are not exorbitant.

I called the team @ WJF for help
They gave me good advice over the phone with a YouTube video and steps to fix it. I tried but still couldn't fix it.

I booked a visit. They came round the following morning, and mended it for me, and showed me how to fix it next time.

There's many gas engineers out there.
WJG were fast, reliable, and I know I can trust them.

I recently got our boiler replaced with Billy and can vouch for excellent service and quality. We got the Woscester Bosch combi boiler with 10 year gurantee at a competitive price fully installed to gerat standard. Overall a very plesant experience and totally recommend this company. Will endeavour to take future services.
