Terrible decision to use them

So glad this provider has gone I just gave up the system portal was down for months no support ignored phone call I would have to call from other peoples numbers to get an answer, no support for my learning needs seams took a lot of peoples money Peter Lemmon is a crook !
Diverse training is the way to go ! Happy to say Iv got my ETM now they are amazing full team and always someone to help you, lots of resources and videos.

Confirmation of Business Closure: 09/10/25

Following an email from Peter on 09/07/25, the company has now filed for closure - type TBC.

How foolish we were to give our money to Peter Lemon (PT) who ran The Academy of Fitness Professionals. Unprofessional and not accredited. £650 for nothing.

To save mine and your time, all of the negative reviews before me match my experience.

ETM- Very upsetting experiance

ETM

I started my ETM in September 2023. I made Peter Lemon aware that I would be completing it alongside my job and supporting my son with learning disabilities.
At first, Peter was responsive and marked my work within a couple of weeks and gave feedback where appropriate. The modules seemed to be aimed more at working in a gym as a personal trainer but they were relatively easy to follow.
Unfortunately, I had to request an extension because my mother was unwell. I paid a fee (which he reduced slightly, which I felt was fair) for not completing the course within 12 Months.
I managed to film my final video in December and submitted it on the 13th. This was difficult as the last 2 modules provided little information/guidance around how to plan a session or choreography. I had to use the internet and friends who are already qualified instructors for guidance.
I then received a message from Peter asking me to re-film a section to include me giving feedback to my participants. I then had to arrange a date when they were all available again and filmed this. I re-submitted it on the 3rd February 2025. Peter confirmed he had received this and had sent this on to the IQA team for review.
After this communication became increasingly difficult. I received a couple of holding e-mails saying he would chase this up and then nothing. I have called and left messages and sent several emails. My E-mails used to go through , albeit unanswered and now they are returned as undeliverable. He has not refunded any of the costs I paid for the course and I have no certificate.
I don’t believe there is anyone else working at Academy of Fitness to escalate this too, I saw on another review that it his wife who is the IQA team ?
The website appears to work for a few weeks, but then it goes down. I have lost both time and money, and with no accountability or resolution offered, I would strongly advise others to avoid this platform
A really upsetting experience – I will continue to pursue as no refund or certificate so I believe this is a breach of contract.

Extremely Disappointing Experience – Avoid

1. I paid for the course and later for an extension, but the website has not worked since March 2025.

2. Despite multiple attempts to contact the team via email and phone, I’ve received no response whatsoever.

3. I had set aside time specifically to complete the modules, only to be met with ongoing technical issues and complete silence from the company. It feels incredibly unprofessional, and at this point, I genuinely question the legitimacy of the service.

4. I have lost both time and money, and with no accountability or resolution offered, I believe this may be a scam.

5. I would strongly advise others to avoid this platform until they demonstrate transparency and reliability.

Company APPALLING

So far experience with this organisation is appalling -
Peter Lemon so far given no support /is rude in his approach.
Not professional at all.
£325.00 paid for a Fast track course in February 2025 so far not even got past the profile page as error with fields. ongoing lies stating technical issues with website/emails or always on holiday -.
Peter Lemon does not seem to have any intentions of getting issues rectified.

I am very upset

I am very upset. Two years ago, I purchased a course from this company. At first, everything was great—my tutor always responded on time, and I felt supported.

Later, I completed the course and paid an additional fee because I couldn’t finish all the modules within a year. Since English is not my first language, I needed more time to properly learn and complete the program.

After completing all six modules, the communication stopped. It has now been almost six months with no response. The last email I received was about two months ago, where the tutor apologized and assured me they would reply soon. Unfortunately, I haven’t heard from them since.

I have tried calling and sending emails every two weeks, but I still can’t get in touch with the company. I don’t know what to do. I am deeply frustrated—two years of hard work, stress, and time have been wasted. It’s not even about the money; I’ve been dreaming of receiving this certificate for a long time, and I truly need it.

What am I supposed to do now? Start all over again? I don’t think I can go through this process again. I still hope they will contact me and issue my certificate. If that happens, I am willing to forgive all the delays and move on.

Woeful provider, avoid.

My wife started an ETM course with this provider last year. As a past assessor, he is everything that a training provider should not be.

His feedback is completely inappropriate and inconsistent. He often doesn’t reply to questions, emails, phone calls (unless you call him from a different number that he doesn’t recognise) or even letters that were sent by recorded delivery. All of this is coupled with the fact that his website and learner portal went down and there absolutely no communication from him about why this happened, how long it was likely to last or how it was going to impact his learners.

Although in a different field, I am a TAQA3 qualified assessor and it seems to me that although he may be an accomplished PT, he has tried and failed to carry his knowledge over to ETM thinking that the assessing criteria is the same, which it clearly isn’t given his internal verifier (his wife, possible conflict of interest much,) often contradicts what he is saying in his feedback.

His lack of communication has lead to much stress on my wife’s behalf and her moving across to a new training provider who knows what they are talking about.

Take this review as a warning to think carefully before signing up with this provider as experience (and reviews,) have told us that he at best clearly either can’t handle the amount of work he has or at worse he is a little incompetent. My wife wishes she had.

Course work was poor quality

Course work was poor quality. More like an old fashioned correspondence course, all very cumbersome. The modules didn't reflect the course I'd taken, but were laden with irrelevant content presumably repurposed from one of the other courses. Feedback was slow and pedantic, often focussing on minor typos not content. In the end, I took longer than 12 months to complete the course as it was excruciatingly dull and was not offered a grace period even though I only had 1 module left. I had no prior notice either that I'd over-run the contract time. My fault on that, but the only offer was to pay another £175 to complete it which I declined. I have taken many modules and courses and this provider is the only poor learning experience I've ever had. I have since found other online (and much cheaper) modules with more useful, applicable content and CPD points.

Do not waste your money

Do not waste your money. This provider is woefully inconsistent, communication is extremely poor and its practice is openly discriminatory, as learners are not assessed according to a common set of criteria. My Exercise to Music Level 2 tutor described my performance as comprehensive and professional, and yet the internal 'quality assurance' officer dismissed nine months of hard work as merely working out with music in the background. I have begun the process of formally challenging this absurd verdict and will be submitting an official complaint. I will pursue any and all means until I receive the certificate I have earned.

Average Experience - Not Horrific, Not Great

My experience with AOFP was average. I certainly didn't have as bad of an experience as some people - Some of the stories I have heard from fellow instructors and reviews on this page are really terrible. There definitely could be some improvements. The course material is lacking in areas and quite out of date in others. There are big sections that require additional research to find the answers, such as learning about the different choreography styles and the aerobic curve. I had to borrow my friends HFE workbook to study those sections which isn't great - Especially when it's such key elements you're expected to demonstrate knowledge of in your final. However, I did receive prompt feedback and Peter did respond to my emails fairly quickly. I had a phone call with Peter before my final to get some answers as to what is expected of my final submission - He was helpful to a point, it kind of felt like trying to get information from a stone rather than a helpful friendly tutor, but I got the answers I needed and after some back and forth on emails, I managed to pass the qualification. It's just a shame so many people have had bad experiences with them. After the course, I did feel like I hadn't really learnt anything, it definitely could be more in-depth and I think I probably would have gotten on better going with someone like HFE that offers in person help. I'll no doubt do some independent study to top myself up on the various sections.

Go somewhere else for fitness training

There are some many other options of study. I signed up for a special of $1499 for a combo cert 3 and 4 and was told the special would finish the next day
 silly me
 6 months later it’s still going!! I was already studying a cert 3 so waited 6 months to finish that course which is now time I have lost time and was then told the course duration was 12 months not 18months as originally told. They are lazy with emails still awaking replies on 2. Don’t waste your money with them

Very disappointed

Very disappointed, unprofessional, months waiting since august then I got a email to say the assessor has pass me, and said I be getting my certificate, he emails me again saying that the quality insurance disagreed with the assessor markings. Disgusting, I felt being let down. I would never book another course with this company.

I regret to say that I am disappointed by the lack of communication, inadequate course material, and delayed feedback provided by this course provider.

I regret to say that my personal experience with this course was not satisfactory. While it may be suitable for individuals with a theoretical learning style who are highly self-motivated and do not require support, I feel it is important to highlight some concerns.

Firstly, it is crucial to read the fine print before enrolling in this course. There is a requirement to complete the course within a specific time frame, and failing to do so results in additional charges. Unfortunately, this information was not clearly communicated upfront, which felt misleading.

Moreover, I found the lack of support and investment in my learning journey disappointing, I anticipated some level of guidance and assistance from the course provider, especially considering the investment made. However, their self motivated involvement throughout the course was virtually non-existent, It is disheartening to feel that the course provider appears to prioritise financial gains over the well-being and progression of their students. This leaves me questioning their dedication to nurturing a positive learning environment.

I was especially disappointed to be denied a phone call due to "network problems". This lack of accessibility was frustrating and gave the impression of a lack of genuine interest in addressing my concerns.

Additionally, the course provider's communication was extremely poor, they only seemed to respond promptly when I was "chasing up" on their progress. This was not helpful and left me feeling neglected as a student.

Furthermore, I found the course material to be subpar. The focus was solely on theory, with little practical application through external links. In one module, instead of providing comprehensive details, they directed students to purchase a book on Choreography styles, which felt like an additional expense and counterproductive to the learning experience.

Notably, the lack of prompt feedback was a significant issue. After submitting my materials, I did not hear back for over a month. Upon finally reaching out to inquire about my submission, I received a brief response stating that they had "quickly looked at" my work. This lack of thorough consideration felt dismissive and undermined the effort I had put into my coursework.

Despite diligently uploading several videos as required, it appears that the course provider overlooked some of them. This oversight not only undermines the effort I put into completing the tasks, but also raises concerns about their attentiveness and reliability.

Moreover, I found the platform itself to be extremely user-unfriendly. One major drawback is the lack of notifications to the inbox, which makes it difficult to stay updated on important course information and communication. This lack of functionality adds unnecessary frustration and hampers the overall learning experience.

Regrettably, due to these significant concerns, I have made the difficult decision to give up on this course. It is disheartening to invest time, effort, and trust into a course that ultimately falls short of providing adequate support and a conducive learning experience.

I sincerely hope that the course provider takes this feedback constructively and works to improve their practices for the benefit of future students.

We gave you over a month's notice of your course expiry date which you had responded with appreciation.
As already communicated with you we genuinely experienced a network problem which was fixed.
From our records we can see that your first modules work was returned to you within 17 working days with constructive feedback on how to progress. We had also reviewed all your video files along with guidance on what was required.
With regard to the learning platform you are the first learner to feedback that you found it user unfriendly. Although you were complimentary of the email communications which was pleasing.
To assist you with your well-being and progression we had allowed you an additional period of time to complete as a gesture of goodwill which dispels your comment that we appear to prioritise financial gain.

Very supportive training academy

I had a great experience after undertaking my L2 Children’s exercise qualification with the Academy. Great instructional content and learnings plus very supportive tutors. Peter was brilliant with his feedback and assistance. A very professional, well equipped training programme.

Overall positive experience

I was initially hesitant of who to go with to complete the exercise to music course and this one appeared to offer the most blue for money.

I paid for the course in full and then had a long delay in being able to make start due personal issues and injuries.

I was able to make contact received a call back and they were helpful with providing date for completion. The course content was all relevant and quickly returned back marked with feedback.

Information on the best way of how to send video evidence of practical session could have been better communicated. Overall positive experience.

I don't know where to start from.Shabby service.After numerous calls and emails you get a course tutor calling back(may I add one tutor works there the director so dont be fooled Peter Lemon.Unfortunately service has become awful I made a mistake paying in full for modules in advanced for the ultimate package, now they refuse to pay either full/partial refund for modules not taken.As I complained and raised my concerns there behaviour changed towards me and accused me of cheating even though the work was marked after 16 months.SIXTEEN?And THE DIRECTOR WAS HAPPY WITH THE WORK.
AVOID AT ALL COSTS and don't pay in full.
Contact CIMPSCA FOR OTHER REPUTABLE COURSE PROVIDERS.
EXTERNAL EXAMINER IS THE WIFE ANITA LEMON.CHECK COMPANIES HOUSE TO SHOW HOW MANY ACTUAL EMPLOYEES WORK THERE TO SHOW HOW MANY TUTORS THEY HAVE!!!
