As an early adopter, I had full faith and trust that ActivePieces would grow into a very serious tool.
It became apparent that activepieces is a small time company with no vision after seeing how leadership broke promises.
I use other automation tools.
Activepieces will always be a failure to me.

Disappointed by Activepieces: Poor Leadership & Lack of Respect for Early Supporters

I had high hopes for Activepieces after seeing its promise as a no-code automation tool. However, my experience has left me frustrated and disappointed. Here’s why:

Poor leadership and disregard for their community:
It’s clear from recent updates and communication that the team behind Activepieces doesn’t value their early supporters or the broader community. There’s a consistent pattern of ignoring feedback, making abrupt decisions, and failing to show genuine respect for those who helped get the product off the ground.

Lifetime deal bait-and-switch:
Many of us purchased lifetime access on AppSumo with the expectation that our support would be valued long-term. Instead, ongoing updates and feature changes seem increasingly tailored to new users or paid subscribers, leaving lifetime users out in the cold or with watered-down features. This goes against the spirit of why we backed Activepieces in the first place.

Lack of transparency:
Communication from the leadership has been vague and sometimes dismissive. Questions about plan features are met with canned responses or redirected to support, rather than being answered honestly in public. It feels like they’re more interested in damage control than genuine engagement.

Community feels ignored:
Despite having a supposedly active Discord and community, user voices are clearly not driving decisions. Major changes get rolled out with little warning or regard for how they affect existing users.

Activepieces has potential as a no-code automation platform, but the lack of respect for supporters and questionable leadership make it hard to recommend. If you value transparency and community-driven development, I’d suggest looking elsewhere.

I have tried so many Zapier replacements, such as (Make, Latenode, Pabbly, tried them all). Activepieces has come a long way and they continue to surprise and update their software. It is very easy to integrate with apps, just like Zapier, and get them going. They do use different terminology, but just ask Claude or ChatGPT what they are and they will provide the answer. For example, Zapier uses filters, but Activepieces uses Routers (branches) and the left side is what you want and if the left side does not match, then on the right side nothing will happen.

--> Their pricing is AMAZING! You pay $1 for 1000 tasks. Zapier, Make and other companies definitely charge way more than this.

--> This is cheaper than n8n. I tried n8n and I needed to connect multiple Gmail accounts to one workflow; you cannot do this with n8n at this time. You can with Activepieces.

--> They have a free account with all features, no LIMITATIONS. You get 1000 free task.

--> I have not requested customer service, but I have not needed to. I moved all my zaps from Zapier except for 2 with no issues.

What do you dislike about Activepieces?
UPDATED: NO CUSTOMER SUPPORT if you have an issue that is on their end!!!!
This might be a downside for some, and that is they don't integrate with every company out there, but give them time; they will. Remember, Zapier has been in business for a very long time.

I will keep my original comment from 6-9 so this update makes sense. If you have an issue with Activepieces, going to the community forum will not help. Add this issue or bug to their GitHub. I received an immediate response to my issue and they did find that it was a bug on their end. Thank you kishanprmr for your immediate attention to this matter.

Lack of Communication: We received no advance notice about these substantial pricing changes. More concerning, we were automatically moved from our paid plan to a trial plan without any notification or explanation. This is unacceptable customer service and reflects poorly on your business practices.

Misleading Marketing: Your current Plus plan ($25/month) advertises “unlimited tasks” but restricts users to only 10 active flows. This is fundamentally misleading, as workflows are the core functionality that drives task execution. Unlimited tasks become meaningless when severely restricted by workflow limitations.

Dramatic Service Reduction: The previous Starter plan offered unlimited flows at no cost, while the new structure requires $25/month for just 10 flows. This represents a significant reduction in value proposition and fundamentally changes the platform’s accessibility for small businesses and growing teams.

Impact on Business Planning: As paying customers, we were building our automation strategy around your platform based on our existing service level. Being suddenly downgraded to a trial plan with these unannounced changes has disrupted our operations and forced us to reconsider our platform selection.

Business Impact
Service Downgrade: We were moved from a paid plan to a trial plan without consent or notification, effectively receiving a downgrade in service while having been paying customers.

The new 10-flow limitation in the Plus plan is insufficient for our operational needs. For a platform positioning itself as an enterprise automation solution, this restriction severely limits practical business implementation and scalability.

Simply the best. Better than all the rest.

I’ve tried various tools like Zapier and Integromat, but Activepieces stands out for handling intricate workflows where others often fall short.

Learning curve is very simple and short. Once you get the hang of it, it’s a powerful tool. It’s already managing some of my most critical automations, saving me a lot of time and hassle.

The support is solid, and the community is active and helpful. While it’s not perfect and some integrations are still being developed, the platform is constantly improving. If you’re willing to invest a bit of time to learn it, Activepieces is definitely worth trying.

For my use cases, like auto-posting YouTube videos to WordPress and syncing calendars, Activepieces has made life a lot easier. Plus, it’s simple enough for non-coders to use.

Activepieces first came on my radar via Hacker News in early 2023, I immediately starred them on GitHub and have been following their progress ever since. Admittedly I haven't had much of a chance to make use of it until recently, but this weekend I worked on a small personal project which required some automation, and Activepieces immediately sprung to mind. I got set up on their Cloud version and managed to get my workflow sorted in minutes. While the experience might not be as polished as some of the more established vendors, it's only a matter of time given the rapid pace of development and innovation by the team. Excited to see great things from you guys over the next few years!

I am seriously impressed with the Active Pieces team and the huge progress they have made in such a short period since launching shaping up to be a real contender to Zapier and Make. The flexibility of the smaller team allows for faster development and had a range of the new OpenAI modules before Make did! This shows they listen to their customers and build accordingly. Support is amazing, and have personally spoken with the team and they go out of their way to help. Really excited for what the future holds, this is a gem in automations. Thank you!

ActivePieces is on the way to becoming a serious competitor to Make. It has a visual automation builder, a flexible HTTP module, and an amazing Code module that allows adding JS libraries.

A new player in the automation game with lots of potential and room for improvement.

I'm always looking for new automation tools and already use quite a few (Zapier of course, Pabbly connect and Albato)

Earlier this year I've heard about activepieces and decided to give it a try and can't regret.

For sure it has a lot to do before catching up with the ones mentioned before but considering how fast they're adding new integration and how I've enjoyed using the platform, I envision mid and long-term success.

I bought access to Activepieces from App sumo, and it has been a great deal for me. I especially love all possible automations you can make with gpt and Google Sheets and WordPress. Activepieces is still new, so ledd integrations than for example Zapier, but I think they are heading in the right direction by also providing open source alternatives, which hopefully boosts integrations over time.

It solves several problems in the area of automation.
Various apps can be easily integrated.
Its a cost effective solution as compared to its competitors.
It has continuous expansion of new features and expanding collection of Apps.

My experience with Activepieces has been positive, primarily due to its robust functionality and seamless integration capabilities. Rare open-source project that seems to work pretty well.

I was able to build several flows on it that work. Like the pricing model and the fact I can write my own code.

I purchased ActivePieces on Appsumo and left it a while as was using another automation tool. However got stuck on something so used ActivePieces which is sooo good! Literally took less than a minute to setup a ChatGPT Google review reply response which I've been trying to impliment for a while now.

Great stuff and can't wait for more integrations so we can automate more tasks freeing up time in other areas.

ActivePieces is an phenomenal Zapier Alternative that allows users to seamlessly connect apps, APIs, and webhooks together to avoid menial tasks. It's extremely exhausting trying to manually book appointments, then enter the information into your CRM, etc. ActivePieces helps us do all this, at a much cheaper price.

ActivePieces makes content creation simpler! I like the way it incorporates ChatGPT to create content quickly & easily, and to post that content where I need it, like my own website built on WordPress.

Activepieces has been a game-changer for my email automation needs. Specifically, I wanted to automate text creation using the GPT extension and webhook based on specific parameters I got from the Google sheets. Activepieces not only provided the necessary tools for this task but also made the process incredibly easy.

Additionally, the constant updates and support from the team made me feel confident in the platform's performance and future.

Though it is still quite a young tool, it can already be very useful for specific tasks! Hopefully, with the addition of new pieces over the coming months, I will be able to expand my automation needs. Currently, one of the main disadvantages is the limited availability of integrations, which pales in comparison to the wide range offered by more established competitors in the market.

I've used most well-knownautomation tools, but their our core problem is not enough to cover actual usage limit. As an agency, we've managed to get by, but when it comes to our own requirements without extra development were not enough.

Now, the situation has improved as ActivePieces continues to be updated based on community feedback and direction. I use their cloud version (I got the one their initial launching LTD limit) which works exceptionally well. The error rate is acceptable, notably when compared to other services.

Above all, ActivePieces is constantly updated, and the support from the team is consistently direct, and transparent as engaged as their active community.
