Priority boarding is ineffective and misleading. At check-in there is no separate queue for priority boarding holders, meaning everyone is held in the same queues. As a result, by the time passengers reach the ship, priority boarding becomes meaningless because the vessel is already filling with everyone at the same time. Any benefit that priority boarding is supposed to provide is therefore lost before boarding even begins. The lounge access was disappointing. While it is not marketed as a quiet or private lounge, the space was effectively being used as a nursery, with 5–6 small children running around, shouting, and playing in main walking areas. This made the lounge unsuitable for sitting calmly or working. We booked the lounge specifically to discuss business matters, which proved impossible as children were repeatedly running into us and banging our arms while we were reviewing figures on a laptop. On a positive note, the food, while not outstanding, was good; the staff were friendly and helpful; the toilets were clean; and the lounge itself is a well-designed, pleasant space. With better management of boarding procedures and clearer zoning onboard, the overall experience could be significantly improved.

Overall: good experience with DFDS. The flexible cancellation option with refund (via the Koala Flex.) could be made more clear and straight to follow via the app of aFerry. Because I didn’t see how it worked exactly in time, I missed out on the restitution. However, the client help service was helpful and offered an amendment of my existing ticket, so I would not lose the value/money of the purchased ticket

De ferry kwam met 45 min vertraging aan in Dover. Vertrok ook ruim n half uur later terwijl het meer dan n uur als voor anker had gelegen in Duinkerken. Het meisje in t restaurant was vriendelijk maar op cappuccino hoort een schuimlaag!
