Great communication, even greater repair and swift efficient service.

I ordered two sets of Sonder bar tape, and emailed after a couple of day's to see if they had been dispatched, then I was informed they didn't have stock and would send them directly from one of their store's which have stock.
After another 6 day's I emailed again and they said they haven't been dispatched,at least the refund was quick,

Some of the best customer support ever. I'm new to bike packing and I've been made to feel totally comfortable asking all of the entry level questions that others can make you feel daft for asking. Ash is infinitely patient and helping me to get the right set up for my bike from the outset. Combine that with the quality of the Alpkit product and you can't go wrong with this company.

Alpkit have always made great stuff but recently cutting corners on leaving parts out. Recently bought a new titanium cooking pot and it didn’t come with the protective mesh bag which stops it rattling and losing its lid when bike packing.

They emailed to say they’d would send one but ignored this and are now asking me to stop by their store in Derbyshire and ask someone there. It’s a bit like someone giving you a tent and no tent bag. It’s difficult to find one elsewhere that fits.

Scam - no stock.

This was by far one of the worst online purchasing experiences I’ve ever had.

I initially ordered via Debenhams which was just the start of my problems. I hadn’t realised that, since going bust as a physical retail store, Debenhams acts as a proxy merchant to place the order via the store. After 6 days Debenhams finally placed the order with Alpkit.

Two weeks later, I’d still heard nothing about my order. I was dependent on the order for a sleeping mat for a camping holiday. I called Alpkit and talked to Ash, who was very charming and informed me that the product I’d ordered actually wasn’t available for another month.

Ash told me that he’d price-match another product instead and get it sent out the next day so I thought the issue had been resolved.

Following this, DPD was still saying that they hadn’t received the package. I called again this week to inform them and was told that the product I was promised wasn’t actually in stock. Three weeks after placing my order I was £60 down with no sleeping mat and was told by a dullard on the phone that the product that was initially promised wasn’t in stock and they’d just have to refund it.

I’ve been redirected all over the place by Alpkit and yet I’m still without a sleeping mat.

I sent an email complaint with the promise that they’re a small company and any concerns would be acknowledged but I’ve had nothing back.

I loved the idea of a highly rated independent and smaller company. However, following this experience, I’d suggest avoiding this company like the plague.

After three weeks of trying to order a sleeping mat well in advance of my trip I’ve had to order from WildBounds, who have immediately shipped my order. I’d highly recommend them instead.

This feels like it’s a company with good advertising but in reality seems like a drop-shipping front.

Avoid Alpkit - I went for Big Agnes instead.

Made an order 5 days ago with next day delivery had confirmation of order and nothing since. No reply to emails!?

Now have a reply - two items on my order were on back order expected 8 July! But nobody told me!
I love the ethos behind the company but they don’t seem to have any stock, so don’t expect swift delivery and DON’T book a campsite a week in advance as that wont be long enough for your kit to get to you.
Order now for Christmas!!

Customer service was exceptional in Keswick 10 days ago. I had a failure with the waterproofing of my jacket on a very, very, wet day in Grasmere.
Fortunately, I had registered my jacket online, when I purchased it and as it was within the 3 year guarantee my jacket was replaced without hesitation.
One very happy customer.

I just wanted to say that I love my Camino Ti. I have taken this incredible bike on numerous bikepacking trips: West Country/2 Moors; Trans-Cambrian, Badger Divide and it just effortlessly eats up the terrain whether its road, gravel or trail. It is super comfortable and capable: it would pass muster as a mtb trail bike and a road bike. It really is fantastic. On all the trips I have had zero mechanicals and there is not a sign of any bearing wear anywhere after 1000s kms. Thanks very much

Needed to repair my stove, they sold the part I needed very cheaply and customer service talked me though how to install with a handy YouTube video as well

Great service

My love for Alpkit just grows and grows. From your fab stores where you can get kit (inc from other brands) repaired, to clothing you can (try to) wear to death and going the extra mile (finding replacement poles for our tent when our saluki ran full pelt through the guy ropes!) We’ve been on so many adventures with our (Alp)kit! Thank you, you delicious team :)

When looking at replacing my Paramo waterproof trousers I came across the reviews for Alpkit. We were near the Ilkley store so what better destination on a wet Yorkshire afternoon. The gentleman was extremely helpful and knowledgeable and I was guided to look at the Equinox. Happy with my purchase and looking forward to trying them in the soggy Dales.

Excellent customer service. Regular buyer over the years and if I've had any issues they have always been rectified with no hassle.

Bought a tent from here less than a year ago and it’s not been fit for purpose. They advertise a desire to be sustainable and offer repair services and product warranty but I have been trying to contact them for almost a month now to get help regarding my tent and have never been replied to once. I have tried multiple avenues to contact them and provided order details showing my product is still well within the time of their warranty and am just being completely ignored. I have had to come home from my last camping trip 2 days early as I just wasn’t confident my tent would keep me sheltered and dry as promised in the product description. Hugely disappointed in not only the quality of the product but the level of customer service as well. I always try to buy from local companies with the environment in mind but this company has not met my expectations and hasn’t tried to help rectify the issues either.

At the ripe old age of 60+ l have walked, explored and stopped out all my life, These days they call it wild and stealth camping, back in the day it did not really have a name it was just being out. 'Get on with it you old git' l hear you shout, well my point is I have used various companies over the years, from army surplus through to the bigger companies like Berghaus and Rab, but l must say Alpkit is more than right up there with the best , it is the best. Why? Well the customer service is second to none, fast friendly and very efficient, (Edward sorted everything in a matter of minutes), the aray of kit is amazing and the quality will not let you down. These days we are spoilt for great choice but if you choose Alpkit they will not let you down.

Alpkit offer outstanding quality products at excellent prices. I always recommend Alpkit to people.
I’ve got sleeping bags, clothing and torches. All great and super happy.
Had an issue with a battery in one of the torches and alpkit replaced it without question, far outside the normal warranty period. This is why I always return. Great service and great kit 👍

This is such a shame because I’ve previously had good experiences with Alpkit / Sonder and their customer service has been excellent:

I purchased a titanium Sonder bike frame about 18 months ago. After a fall I bent the sliding dropout and was unable to correct despite the right tooling. I tried to order a new one but they were out of stock, so I registered my email and waited a couple of weeks. Still out of stock, I contacted Alpkit / Sonder, who said they had them in stock but they weren’t listed on their website, for some reason, and that they’d put an order in to the warehouse for me. Four weeks later, still nothing. It’s been nearly two months now since this started, still no sign of new dropouts and zero comms on the issue.

For those who don’t know, dropouts are bespoke to the frame, so if you damage one, and can’t source a new one from the manufacturer (there are no third party manufactured dropouts I can find for this bike), then your £1600 bike frame is essentially useless. If you’re a moderate to serious biker, I’d be very cautious buying a bike / frame from a company that can’t provide spares that are essential for the bike’s operation, unless you want a very expensive bike shaped paperweight in your garage.

I had been using alpkit for years now and had great customer service every time until this past month…
I had returned a bike packing frame bag that had broken - I’d had it for a about a year, emailed alpkit and they got straight back saying it has a 3 year warranty.. so great sent it back for them to have a look /repair/replace.. had confirmation email saying that had received it back on 28/4/26 and since then had zero correspondence I have also sent at least 4 or 5 emails asking for any more information and every single one has been ignored.. incredibly disappointing.

I had another bike packing trip coming up which I have just completed this past weekend and needed to buy another bag from a competitor as a replacement!
