Your willingness to organise a partial kitchen refurb for us is appreciated. Juggling the different trades isn't easy and not having a sink or cooker whilst the worktop was being measured for and cut was a bit of a pain, but I doubt the job could have been done much quicker had all the trades been 'in house'.

We commissioned a detailed survey from A Mellor Plumbing and Heating Services Ltd prior to exchange of contracts on our new house to identify any big costs. In particular we flagged concerns that the boiler was 10 years old & had no service history.

The section of the report relating to the boiler /heating system was extremely brief but confirmed that the system was in good working order. We followed up afterwards on the phone and by email and we were assured that there were no issues of concern likely to require investment in the heating system in the short term.

In reliance on the report, we proceeded with the purchase and without any further negotiation with the sellers. Less than one week after moving in, the boiler broke down and had to be replaced. This cost us in excess of £3,000. The plumber we used raised a number of concerns with the condition of the boiler and the heating system generally.

We contacted Mellor’s to request a refund for the £420 we had paid them to try and avoid this exact issue. We didn’t receive a reply so chased up with management. Management have since been somewhat rude and confrontational. They refused to give us a refund or offer any further assistance. The customer service has been terrible.

I would strongly suggest you avoid using this company. We are now £3,400 out of pocket which could have been avoided if their report had correctly identified the issues now identified. The management clearly has no concern or respect for its customers.

Continue to provide a very professional and friendly service for our air source heat pump (ASHP) system. Our system is covered by one of their Service & Maintenance plans. A leaking buffer tank was dealt with very quickly in January 2026 and the annual service was recently carried out as per schedule. Very happy with the service we are getting.

I booked my annual boiler service with A Mellor- we had a really nice chap called Bradley who carried out the work. I have used A Mellor several times for various bits of work including boiler services, radiator installations and various bits of plumbing work and have always had great service with approachable, friendly and knowledgeable engineers. There is always someone to take your call when you do call and I would without hesitation recommend A Mellor to anyone.
