The quality of the sockets I have bought for our Georgian house renovation are amazing (G&H trimline in antique brass - looks exactly right with the interior fixtures, they really elevate things). This is a lovely friendly company to buy from and were kind enough to offer me a credit note when I needed to return some items which I had left too late which was really appreciated. Overall a great experience and I would recommend to anyone!

I am so very pleased with all aspects of Ashdown Home Store. The product was spot on, and customer service was exceptional. They truly went above and beyond to get the delivery to me.

Bought six sets of festoon lights plus a connection cable, they no longer work having had them less than a year. They are supposed to have a two year guarantee. After a little toing and froing Sean at Ashdown homes got a new starter cable sent out to me and all works great now. Very pleased.

Had a look around and Ashdown were same as most on price, maybe a little more, for the Pewter sockets/switches. Good reviews here tipped me.
So ordered £300 worth if goods, got 15% discount which was great.
This is the 1st big project on our house, our kitchen. Stress!!
Got most things sorted, except a couple of the switches didn't match with the rest. Sean emailed me and flagged the discrepancies and ensured we got everything we wanted 1st time round. Had a bit of wait on 1 item but it wasn't an issue.
Will use Ashdown Homestore for all our further electrical updates due to the outstanding service!!

This is one of the best if not the best company I have dealt with. Sean was really helpful and extremely knowledgeable/informative, I inadvertently gave him incorrect information and as such I needed to replace the items that I ordered, the return procedure was the simplest and most efficient I have experienced, and I received the correct items almost immediately.
Will definitely use this company again without hesitation.

Amazing experience. I don't know much about electrics but Ashdown went above and beyond to help me when I was looking to buy a specific type of light switch.
They contacted two manufacturers to confirm if their products would be suitable and couldn't have been more helpful in answering my questions.
I rarely leave reviews for companies but their service fully deserved the 5 stars I have given them. Not many companies would have been so helpful when I was buying a single light switch.

I have larger than normal dimmer and light switches (95mm by 95mm) which I wanted to update to a brushed steel. I could not find this size anywhere locally; I visited 6 different electrical stores.

Ashdown Home Store came up on an internet search. I easily found the items and placed the order for the light switches and sockets which arrived next day. Unfortunately the switches were slightly damaged. I contacted Ashdown via email and received a response from Sean within two hours. He provided me with options for return and replacement or refund. I re-ordered the items to ensure quick arrival, and returned the damaged items. The new items arrived quickly and I received a refund once the damaged ones were received. Again everything was very prompt.

These second items had a slight ‘pinch’ in one corner which looked like it was due to the manufacturing process. Sean requested the manufacturer to send the best items they had for the dimmer and light switches. We were going to travel to Ashdown to see these but Sean took the time to send us very good photos to make our decision. I kept the two switches that I had and these were fitted by the electrician. I cannot see the pinched corner that I was concerned by!

I cannot recommend Sean and Ashdown Home Store highly enough. Sean was highly responsive and gave excellent customer service.

I had to return an item and request an exchange. Sean rang me right away, to say this would be fine, and again, to inform me he had received my item and would post a replacement that dsy.
Wonderful customer service, and sadly rare these days. Highly recommended!

Customer service was excellent. We visited the company to view the switches just to be sure of our choice. Very welcoming and helpful. Delighted with the quality of product.

I bought 6 Retrotouch crystal TOUCH glass light switches of which 4 were meant to be dimmable. All had small finger tip sized flat buttons to touch with blue indicator lines.  My electrician spent 3 hours trying to install these disastrous light switches having to also use spacers as they did not fit flush into the wall so they poked out ugly and did not even fit the spacers properly. Cosmetics aside, they would NOT DIM!!!!  My electrician was on the phone over an hour to a technical person at Retrotouch who was incredibly useless. He confirmed my new LED dimmable expensive branded bulbs should work with the switches but eventually promised to obtain one himself to test with the product anyway and call my electrician back but he NEVER DID!! That was 29 days ago. In the meantime I wasn't going to have any more patience on this matter as I needed working switches and had to buy something else now. Not only did these switches not dim my bulbs at all but the indicators had variable appearances in illumination and many lights flickered badly. My electrician has never seen such badly made switches in his life. Not only that but since they are flat glass and there is such a small area which has to be touched you literally have to be looking carefully at the switch to find the spot to turn on your lights! What a load of trumped up fancy looking rubbish and terrible service. I purchased these from Ashdown who said if I pay an extra £12 for each of my orders then they will pass the cost to Retrotouch to actually send me the merchandise directly from them by next day express postage instead of from Ashdown. I have now returned these dreadful lights for refund today but Ashdown is refusing to refund my extremely expensive £24 express courier costs which went from Retrotouch directly. I have informed them it is in breach of my consumer rights to now point out after the fact it is in their terms to not refund that but in ANY case the principal of contract LAW states that when a product is faulty I should be returned to my ORIGINAL financial position that I was in before buying these and that includes the £24 that I am now out of pocket of and the £180 installation and removal costs I wasted on an electrician because of this rubbish.. I am owed £204 and of course my outstanding refund for all switches. There are many one star reviews for retrotouch so clearly other unhappy consumers. As a result of such awful manufacturing I am now out of pocket with the supplier Ashdown. I wonder if they care about their reputation at all to rectify this mess for me. I now have fantastic switches from Quinetic which WORK a dream. Wonderful Quinetic bought from a seller who my electrician has good praise for. One way or another I intend to pursue my losses.F

Following their reply : this company has now gone to desperate lengths to turn this into a public defamatory personal insult ..charging £12 for next day courier which was already an option for any customer is NOT going to EXTRA lengths to supply next day goods and as for the barrage of insult concerning completely unrelated reviews only any one reading such childish personal remarks about me can judge but I will not put up with this provocation and insult and will be informing trading standards about how they have behaved. Disgusting. I'm not wasting my breath on responding to the junk in the reply below..I am still out of pocket in fitting costs and cab claim for that.

I highly recommend this company. I didn't realise when I placed my order that I'd ordered some in standard plates and some in flat plates. Simon emailed me to see whether this was correct, or an error. It was an error on my behalf and was sorted and a refund for the difference was all completed within half an hour. We have just started decorating and each room needs new sockets and plugs replacing, I know that after the excellent customer service this company provides, I will buy them all from here.

I was let down by a heating installation company who couldn't complete a job for me as surface back boxes were needed for my switches. Not having had any experience of this I did a Google search and came up with Ashdown Home Store. I was impressed by the range of materials and price options and chose brass effect ones. Postage was free and I was astounded to receive them within 24 hours. Very impressed!

I was struggling to get the particular switches and sockets to arrive in time (my error for ordering so late), but Sean from Customer Services was excellent! He kept me informed of my order and managed to get everything to me on a next day delivery in time. I was very pleased with the products. Would highly recommend!
