Do not buy a vehicle from them unless you want to go through a process of faults, bad communication and illegal behaviour !it’s taken a year to get to court! Look at the 1* reviews for the truth!

Evidence revealed by an expert engineer and specialist that ATSW had in fact deleted the DPF data system from the ECU of my vehicle as well as other fault codes, to try to mask and hide faults with the vehicle which unfortunately had led to the reoccurring faults! What they have done is illegal! These are not assumptions or allegations!! They are facts! I’m happy to discuss the matter and prove facts!

I bought a 2015 GTD from them last year, and have had nothing but issues from the get-go. It took WEEKS to get the MOT done on the car, as it had ran out while in their possession.

I had to take a flight from Glasgow to pick the car up, and that’s where the issues started. The MOT still wasn’t done by the agreed pick-up date so I had to cancel and reorganise another flight which I lost money on. Matt done me a ‘goodwill gesture’ and provided me with a 3-month warranty scheme that wasn’t worth the paper it was written on; after counselling with the ombudsman I was told that all dealer-private sales come with a statutory warranty period which often is 3-months - I was mislead into believing this was some great thing he was doing for me when it was supposed to be given to me anyway.

On the day of collecting the car, it had ‘developed faults while testing’ and, I sh*t you not, waited 6 hours from my arrival till way after closing time because of one issue or another.

The inspection of the car had to be done in pitch back darkness, and it was only the following day when I took the car back to Glasgow I seen all the issues - seats ripped, cigarette burns in the upholstery, lacquer peeling back on the centre trims, alloys scuffed, ALL tyres mismatched with one of them under the legal limit for tread, the front grill was smashed up in bits, rust on the doors and sills, absolutely reeked a smoke inside. I sent emails and messages about this and yet not had a reply. They were willing to let the car go without a proper health check - the timing belt and water pump were inspected at 40k odd but never replaced or serviced - and VWs require the two to be changed between 80-100k.

I paid fees I had no idea even existed, and we’re talking in the hundreds of pounds, and this was after my finance all went through and got sorted.

I got home, and the car had no coolant in it. Something wasn’t right, so straight into a local garage it went and spent close to 3 months in diagnostics. Still dealing with the coolant loss. So far the EGR cooler, Intercooler, heater matrix, and water pump have been changed.

Steve, the salesman was a nice lad, but unfortunately his ethics were driven the company’s greed. Matt’s just a d*ckhead. The way he spoke to Steve, and myself as well would have warranted his face being smashed in.

Avoid, nothing but con men. If I was wiser at the earlier stages I would have taken them to court.

Bought a car, I personally wasn’t happy with it, nothing wrong with it just a wrong decision for me.
Went back and spoke to them and they very kindly let me pick another, there were a couple of minor issues which was rectified before I collected it, the whole experience I couldn’t fault, great people fantastic service, look forward to my next upgrade!!!

I travelled from Nottingham to test drive and to buy my dream car VW scirocco R and the car is amazing!! I would have gave 5 star as the part exchange didn’t go well. However, the service from Lia was helpful and managed to solve it in the end. I want to say thankyou to Lia I’m enjoying my new car and had a smooth drive back to Nottingham. 😊

Bought the car in January, part exchange. By February and March I received parking tickets for my old car. They hadn't submitted forms to dvla. Now in September I'm planning a long journey and I discover the boot space is empty of spare tyre and tools

Called up about a vw passat, got told by the salesman to leave a fully refundable deposit for the car before even viewing it as its refundable anyways. Left a deposit over the phone, within 5 mins of leaving the deposit called up again saying i am no longer interested in the vehicle, then got told they will only refund the money if I view the car. Told them it's a 232 miles round trip for me and it will cost me more in fuel than what the deposit was and they said its not their problem. Bunch of scammers who have no clue how to conduct business.

Ellie was amazing! Very easy to deal with and was always looking for anyway to help. I was looking for an emergency car and the process was so fast, it has really helped me out massively. I had lots of questions which were answered straight away or I was assured Ellie would find out the answer and contact me straight away. I was very comfortable doing business with this company and Ellie the entire way, amazing experience. Highly recommend this company!!

Purchasing a used car can be a minefield but, Lia was patient, knowledgeable and accommodating. The whole process from test drive to drive away was a pleasure.

Very good service. I was helped by Lia who made sure every question i had was answered. The car was taken on a test drive after some work had to be done on it. Very fast to pick the phone up when you rang to ask about how the car was in the workshop. I would reccomend the garage and Lia 😊

I purchased a car from Autotrade Southwest on 19 April 2025 and have had a very disappointing experience. During the purchase, a cash payment was not counted in front of us, and afterwards I discovered a discrepancy which the dealership has not properly addressed.

When I raised this in writing, I received emails from someone acting on behalf of the dealership which were defensive, unhelpful, and even included threats of legal action and costs if I complained to regulators. This felt very intimidating and not what I would expect from a professional business.

On top of this, I have still not received the V5C logbook, no proof of the promised service has been provided, and faults such as non-functioning wipers and air conditioning became clear shortly after purchase, despite the car having just passed an MOT with no advisories.

Overall, I would strongly advise caution when dealing with this business. My experience left me feeling let down, pressured, and very concerned about their practices.

Recently bought a BMW 1 series from Auto Trade Southwest and I am very happy with the service provided, Lia was incredible very professional throughout and communication was brilliant.

Ellie was brilliant from start to finish.
We had a slight Hiccup with the PartEx but she was reassuring and helped smooth things out. Left with what I wanted and can’t complain!
100% recommend liaising with Ellie should you pay these guys a visit!
