Excellent service from Christopher
Excellent service from Christopher, very attentive, supportive and secured the bike which was in limited stock availability immediately from sale. As soon as i shared the cycle to work certificate the bike was shipped in excellent time and arrived built with accessories so thank you very much. Only small improvement one brake lever was scratched and the front carbon forks discoloured both noted on delivery - thanks for taking these points forward

Quick delivery
Quick delivery, good deal on an xl helmet to fit my big head, was struggling so was nice to find one so affordable that fits so well. Would use balfes again.

Ordering was easy enough and supported…
Ordering was easy enough and supported by staff. The bike turned up, with the packaging wrecked. Checked the bike over paintwork was ok so accepted the bike. On the first ride the gears didn't feel right, contacted Balfe's and was told to put it in for repair and they would pay. Did just that, not heard anything from Balfe's since! Tried emailing but no response.

Delivery got stuck in Basingstoke
Delivery got stuck in Basingstoke, an absolute nightmare trying to get a refund or the same item resent out.
We paid for express delivery as well.
Not to mention as of today’s date 31st August 2026 I’ve not had a refund even though the package was redirected back to yourselves!
Absolutely shocking.

We also apologise that resolving the situation was not as straightforward as it should have been. This is not the experience we want for our customers, particularly when an express delivery service has been selected.

No after sales service
The process of buying the bike and the delivery was faultless, however in order to set up the bike (suspension and play in headset)I had to look online and buy a shock pump. If I had bought it in a local bike shop this would have been done for me and I would get a free service to reset cable stretch etc after a bit of riding. If the on line purchase included a voucher for this I would have been much happier. Thanks.

Thank you for your feedback. We’re pleased the purchase and delivery went smoothly, although we’re sorry it was not clear what assistance remained available after delivery.
Customers who purchase online are welcome to visit any of our stores for help with suspension setup, headset adjustment and other initial bike checks. A separate voucher is not required. We appreciate you highlighting that we could communicate this support more clearly.
