Barclay JetBlue cards sucks
I just cancelled the Barclay JetBlue credit card. Tried to buy an apple computer and sale got declined because of possible fraudulent charge. No message or email came to me to click that it was me. They locked my card and the customer rep and the manager were unable to lock my card after spending half an hour. The man/woman running the fraudulent department need to be fired. Disgusted with their service. Terrible Terrible Terrible.

I've been a customer for years, we pay our accounts (2) in full every month. In June 2025, I mistakenly scheduled the payments one day late. We got charged $29 late fee on each account, exorbitant interest, and this month, even though July's balance was paid in full, we got charged "Residual Interest" on both accounts!
I contacted Customer Service (I ate the June fees, they were technically my fault), no help.

Do not get this credit card, there's are plenty of other places that will protect the consumer. If you have a dispute they will not help you when when they know it's in to your favor. The absolute worst credit card I have every had. I closed it!!

I faxed the required documents and called again, first agent after 15 minutes said she had system problem and transferred me to someone else without explaining to her what the problem was so i spend another 15 minutes with this one who said i have to wait 10 to 15 days for them to
Process , and when I tried to explain that i might have to loose the window to dispute she hung up on me.
This is inconvenient and may cause me loose money.

I had been an Excellent Customer for over a decade . I am what you call a transactional customer . I paid my bill in full every month , sometimes even twice a month . I travel a lot , and enjoy myself , so being someone that used my card often , never paid late , and never had a single charge back makes me an excellent customer . I had a high limit and in the last 3 years they cut my credit limit 3 times ! I have never been late on a payment ever !!! The 3rd time I said ... enough is enough. I cancelled my card unceremoniously and without a doubt Barclays Bank does not care about their customers ! Why does anyone want to do business with a company like that ! I don't and I won't . I went immediately to a Small Bank , they are still out there , and they welcomed me with open Arms !
Poor Service, Poor Product, Does not care
For no reason, Barclays just my credit line to a useless level (I have an 800+ fico).
As you know, when your credit card line is cut, it has a negative impact on your credit report.
Their notice of the cut offers I can go online to apply for a credit increase but it will result in a credit pull - Yet another credit hit to restore my credit line!
All the times I have had to deal with them the service has been the worst.
The only reason I have not closed the account is the negative credit impact of doing so, that ends today, Barclays you cut my credit line, I cut you.

One of the worst banks to own a credit card. I am not the least surprised to read the tons of negative reviews. The level of customer service is appalling, and their so-called security department is utterly crap and useless. This is the worst bank to deal with. I encountered a major security breach with them while speaking on the phone, and it is clear that someone from their staff was involved.
Barclaycard auto-slashes my credit limit when I pay down balance â anyone else?
Iâm a responsible borrower working to rebuild my credit and recently called Barclays about their practice of lowering credit limits immediately after large payments. I was shocked to learn this is intentional and non-negotiable.
This tactic punishes customers for paying down debt, destroys credit utilization ratios, and completely undermines any effort to improve financial standing. When I shared this feedback with a representative, it was dismissed without concern or explanation.
Barclays is the only lender Iâve worked with who penalizes responsible repayment. This is a predatory business practice, and I would strongly caution anyone considering opening an account with them.
If youâre trying to improve your credit, look elsewhere. There are plenty of lenders who actually support financial recovery and donât sabotage your progress.

HACKED ACCOUNT AND THE CONSEQUENSES
In October 2024, my credit card account was hacked, I was notified that my profile information had been changed.
I quickly acted and updated all erroneous information, changed the password and notified your company.
During the conversation, the representative reviewed recent charges and there were two that I did not recognized and I stated that those were FRAUDULENT!
Since I was out of the country at the time, I locked the card and added a secret password.
I DID NOT receive any communications from your company regarding the FRAUD investigation, alerts, and emails from this time forward.
I was notified from my credit bureau in January 2025, that the account balance payments had not been made in the last 60 days!
I attempted to access my account and was unable since the password and telephone number had been changed!! Thus, I could not reset the password!!!
I called immediately but I could not find my secret password. When I did call again, on Jan 17, 2025, I discovered that all of my profile information had been FRAUDULENTY CHANGED AGAIN!!
The November, December and January statements were sent to two different FRAUDULANT people and address!
BTW I was on hold for over 75 minutes before speaking to a representative!!!!
During the conversation, the representative reviewed the transactions and there were two that were fraudulent and would create a fraud case. I asked how long it would take to process this and was informed 30 days.

On February 17 2025, I called and spoke to a fraud department representative, Lesly, and she informed that the fraud case, opened in Jan 2025, was idle and she would do a manual push for investigation. Again, the process would take 30 days for the investigation. I request that a recap of our conversation be sent via email or letter be sent to me, and Lesly stated that she would and it would show up in the documents folder in my account. The fraud case number given to me was: 00043931323
BTW I was on hold for over 45 minutes before speaking to Lesly.
Earlier this week, I was notified that my account had been closed due to non-payment, even though I was under the impression that there was a fraud case open.
On February 20, 2025, I checked my account, not finding any document I was promised. Thus, I called again!
This call started at 11:32 AM!
Spoke to Daisey and described the issues with my account. I requested that I speak to her supervisor, she transferred me to a fraud supervisor, Atanas, at 11:45 AM. Again, I had to repeat my reason for my call. I stated the whole story to him. He first stated the fraud representatives are not able to sent out any communications, so Lesly lied to me and he agreed!
He also went over the transactions since October 2024 and there were none!
So back in Oct 2024 and Jan 2025, I reported two fraudulent transactions and now they are no longer in my account? Where they removed? AND the fraud case number was not valid!
I asked Atanas how I can get all the late, interest and other fees reversed, he stated that the collections representative could take care of this. He transferred me and Shawna was only able to reverse some of the fees. But not all! She transferred me to Debra.
After explaining to Debra my issues and frustration, she was able to reverse all of the other fees and charges. After reviewing all of the transactions since Sept 2024, I acknowledged that I was responsible for two transactions and I will pay for those.
I then asked how I can get my account re-established, with my previous credit limit and she filled and submitted a form to do so.
Since the closing of the account, the reporting of late payments and the reduction of available credit to the credit bureaus, my credit rating has taken a major hit!! All due to my account being HACKED TWICE!
I am DEMANDING that BARCLAYCARDUS do the right thing and reinstate my account with my previous credit line and notify the credit bureaus of the correction!
BEWARE - SCAM / FRAUD
In processing my application, they requested I fax the front and back of my drivers license and social security card and gave me a number to fax it to. I called a couple of days later as it did not seem right - one of their representatives said that is not the process nor the fax number and it was a scam, they sent me to a supervisor who confirmed and asked me to mail the information. After requesting another manager I got a call back and was told that I should not have been asked to fax it but need to send the documents - SCAM the people I spoke to are all offshore and not in the USA. When I told them to cancel my application, they again pushed for me to send my personal information via mail. No emails or letters from Barclaycard this was all requested over the phone

Barclaycard is the absolute WORST!!! I've had my card for YEARS, and suddenly - and without ANY advance notice on their part - my credit limit was lowered from $16,000! I found out when I received my monthly statement from them and noticed that the credit limit had changed. Of course I called them immediately and spoke to someone who could barely speak English. I went through the torture of lifting my credit report freeze so that they could run my credit again - only to be informed that they would not reinstate my original credit limit that I've had FOR YEARS. I told them to immediately cancel the card if that is the way they treat longtime customers with stellar credit. All this happened on January 29, 2025.

Dispute case submission are not user friendly and tidious
They do not have an online tool to submit dispute unlike other major US credit cards. We are in 2024, we need to mail physical copies of proof to file dispute. And even after filing dispute with all valid documents and proof, the case is always closed in favor of merchant.
Bad all around
If you ever want to dispute a charge, they'll side with the merchant, even though I sent them emails from the merchant stating they would credit my card back and failed to do so. Barclays still will not dispute the charge. Their call center is of course, overseas, and they are just "robots" that don't help at all. I'll have to file a suit against the merchant now. They do not protect their customers at all. Stay away from this card!

Had a Wyndham credit card with them for over 10 years. Went onto autopay and they took two payments of $518. I asked for the $518 back and was told that they - a bank - couldn't put it back into my bank but if I hadn't spent it in 3 months, they would send me a check.
Took an old card to Yellowstone - staying at Wyndham, so they declined it. I called and explained I had brought an out of date card with me. Their reply? we sent you a replacement in May, nothing we can do.
So much for customer service. I asked my bank why the money could not be returned and they said there was no reason.

Was a customer for over 10 years. Never late, credit rating high 700âs to 800âs credit limit $12,000. I always manage my credit closely and follow the less than 3% credit usage suggestion. Well without notice this company sent me a notice that said because my highest balance this past year was 5,000 that they were reducing my credit limit to this amount going forward. They did not care that this impacts my credit score with my credit available vs credit used. This is garbage and underhanded snd totally unacceptable so because I manage my credit appropriately and pay my bills I am punished for this? They just sent me a new card which will sit in the envelope until next year. I will never activate it or use them again. They might as well deactivate it now for no usage. Garbage!! This is new, what happened to them? I had the same credit limit for 10 years with no issues. I donât get it?

This company is a JOKE and deserves only a poor rating of NO points or stars, and has created a nightmare for me. They allowed a rebill of a disputed amount charged with a website company with whom I was dealing WITHOUT CONSULTATION OR AUTHORIZATION. These people do NOT document anything - so when call customer service no one has records of transactions, disputes, and other issues so you might as well talk to a wall. They are grossly negligent in all manners of business.
I have had to fight and fight with them even after proving the charge was fraudulent. I've gone to the credit bureaus, and the CFPB -only to continue fighting.
My credit scores have been in the 800s most of my adult life, and Barclaycard enabled this underhanded, disreputable website company to double bill me fraudulently. Further, my card number and SS number were fed to the dark web and unknown entities made purchases on that number because stupid Barclaycard would not cancel the card or even reissue a new card. So Barclay is holding me responsible for the bogus charges that I did not accrue. FIND ANOTHER CREDIT COMPANY - these people should not be in business.

I have been a loyal customer for over six years, but my recent experience with their customer service has been extremely disappointing. Without any prior notice or explanation, my account was suddenly closed. When I contacted customer service to resolve the issue, the situation only deteriorated. The representatives I spoke to were not only unhelpful but also rude. Communication was frustratingly difficult, with one agent hanging up on me after a 30-minute conversation. To make matters worse, another representative provided me with incorrect information. Overall, this has been the most frustrating and unacceptable customer service experience I've ever encountered

I decided to close my Barclay card because I didnât like the high annual fee and the benefits were mediocre at best. When I called to cancel, the first rep. was unable to speak English, kept talking over me, and did not cancel the account as requested. He transferred me to a manager who also didnât cancel the account after I repeatedly told him to. He gave me the runaround, then told me he didnât understand why I didnât get what he was saying, and that he was trying to help me. He raised his voice and seemed to imply that I was not capable of understanding him. I believe that he was trying to wear me down so that I would give in and keep the account. It took almost an hour to conclude a simple transaction that should have taken five minutes. They have now dinged my credit rating. I donât wish this treatment on anyone. Itâs too late for me, but Iâm leaving this review so you can learn from my bitter experience. Respect yourself enough to stay away from this company. You deserve better.

My Jet Blue Barclay card was rejected when I tried to pick up my rental car. I called customer service, and they told me I had a block on my card because I needed to verify my business status. They asked me to fax my tax documents (while standing in line at Enterprise Rental). Without my laptop, retrieving the records would not have been possible. Also, there was no indication via mail, email, or their web portal where I pay and have a zero balance to inform me these documents were required. I had to use a credit card for another business project to get the car, and after the holiday, I contacted customer service again. This time, they gave me a list of required information that did not include any tax documents, and I faxed it to the number they gave me. When I called an hour later to get the situation cleared up, they informed me it would take 10-12 days to review the documents. Seriously Barclaycard? How thoughtful of you.
