Very poor customer service
Ordered two pairs of boots on the 27th Jan 26. They were too small so tried to start a return the same day. Emails were ignored due to staffing issues. Continually chasing for returns label. Eventually sent them back. Have waited two weeks since they confirmed receipt of my order (I had to email them). They stated refund in 5 working days - still waiting Will have to do a charge back. No problem with items if they fit but it’s a risk if you need to do a return. Very poor customer service - avoid.

I've been trying to return the unworn pair for 2 weeks now and cannot get a return label. I've had a look on their Ts and Cs and was alarmed to see that a return needs to be accepted before you'll get the return paperwork. I've emailed customer service several times and nobody seems capable of emailing me what is a really simple request.
I have never dealt with such a terrible company. I'm currently stuck with a pair of shoes that are too small, that the company who supplied them don't want to accept back and no other way to start the returns process.
AVOID.

Product not delivered & refund not paid
I ordered some Boots from Barratt's online store. Unfortunately the product didn't arrive even though it was marked as delivered.
When I contacted Customer Service they said they were having a poor service from Evri, who delivered their products, but that they had changed back to using Royal Mail & did I want to wait for the product to be delivered by them.
I still wanted the product so asked for a timeframe when I could expect delivery; no timeframe was ever communicated so I changed my mind & asked for a refund.
Barratt's said they had refunded my monies but there was no evidence of this either so I asked them to send me a payment reference as proof.
They were unable to provide any evidence after repeated requests so I contacted my bank for a chargeback.
After receiving the chargeback Barratt's were able to show me that they had initiated a refund - the monies never made it to my account but I do believe they genuinely tried to address my complaint.

I have ordered a pair of shoes last week on Tuesday, order tracking is still saying preparing for delivery. It’s now been 6 working days and a whole weekend, today is Wednesday. I have messaged so many times and sent emails, no answer or anything. I need the shoes urgently as my feet are in pain due to plantar fasciitis. Had I known all this was to happen, I would have ordered direct from the hush puppies website. This is the first time I’ve ordered, and I’m extremely disappointed. NEVER ORDER FROM HERE EVER!
Chris Matthews from Barratt Home is great
I recently moved into a Barratts Home in Basinsgtoke and although I am tad concerned about the standards used in building new houses, I must admit that the onsite team were fabulous in helping me acclimatise to the new house and I have a special mention for the onsite manager - Chris Matthews who has been massively helpful and endearing for all the property owners here. His affable nature and calm under duress is exemplary.
No wonder Barratts are a top residential development companies.

Quite poor customer service and aftercare. Have tried to contact them for a few weeks now, no response or refunds. Shoe quality is ok, not great.
Won't take returns
May-June 2016
Bought a pair of boots. They arrived no problem. Were too small. Tried to send back. First via the free courier service. About a week later I received an email from the courier service saying they were no longer working with Barratts and would return the boots to me. So tried returning boots via registered post. Returned again one week later with the message from the post service that Barratts returns office had been vacated Emailed Barratts. No response. called Barratts. Always the same message: All operators busy try again later. There's no way they should still be selling shoes but I see their website is still up and running - avoid!
No response to any communications!
Disgraceful!! Tried to contact through website, no response. Sent 3 emails, no response. Tried to call telephone numbers, no answer. Sent letter, returned as addressee gone away. Will be contacting trading standards and credit card company.
How can they still trade?
Update 16/6/16 I have sine found out that the company Direct Consumer Ltd who trade as Barratt Shoes have gone into voluntary liquidation, so no chance of any response, replacements or refunds.
Unable to get refund
Ordered two sets of shoes & matching handbags, but they were not suitable, I returned as detailed on website. One month after returning the items I have not received acknowledgement of return,(tracking number showed that they were received 20/05/16) no refund, no replies to my emails or unable to speak to anyone on the phone. I now have no other option but to contact my bank/credit card company to find out my next course of action! Only order from this company it you are 100% sure you will want to keep your order!
NO REFUND BARRAT SHOES
This company do not refund though their terms and conditions say they do. They do not reply to emails, nor do they answer telephones. I have now opened a case with Trading Standards. My recommendation is do not shop with this company.
Still waiting for my refund!
Been waiting several weeks now for my refund! first contacted them through web page. After waiting and receiving no reply, then tried many times to contact by phone, but always getting message, "dealing with another customer or closed"....Contacted them again via customer service Email, still no reply, so I have had to Email them again. If I don't hear from them in the next 7 days, will be passing complaint over to my credit card company.
I will never shop with this company again. "UNACCEPTABLE" Definitely problems at customer service..
Poor delivery service
1st order - website allowed me to place the order and pay - over 2 weeks later still no delivery, checked my account apparently the item was still "awaiting despatch", contacted customer services and they said the item was now out of stock and they would process a refund - if I hadn't contacted them would they have got in touch?
2nd order - still waiting on item being despatched after 5 days - how come other companies can over free next day delivery but Barratts struggle to deliver within a week when they charge £4??
Disapponted
Boots arrived with hard object protruding through sole over heel. Phoned customer services they were unsympathetic blaming the issue on their suppliers. Would not provide refund until boots were returned meaning I had to either print collect plus label and drop off at collection point or pay postage via post office. They didn't seem in the least bit bothered I was inconvenienced by their poor service and have two young children making it hard to drop off parcels. They gave me £5 credit off future orders which I explained is no good to me as I won't be ordering from them again. Still waiting for refund has been over a week.... Used to order from barrats a lot but they seem to have gone seriously down hill - boots looked cheap and nasty have had much better from them in the past.
Stay well clear - nonexistent customer service
I ordered two pairs of boots well over ten days ago. I was sent a link three days after I made my order with a tracking link for my parcel. The number provided by Barratts was wrong and I was unable to track my supposed parcel. After five days I rang to call about my parcel and explain that I was unable to track it due to an inaccuracy. The lady on the phone was extremely rude, said that the courier had called two days previously ( they had not as no calling card was left). She said she'd look into the whereabouts of my parcel and call me back within 24 hours. I'm still waiting!!! I've rang again on numerous occasions and left messages to request a refund, no one ever answers the phone, it goes directly to voicemail. I have even emailed requesting a refund or explanation, but have had no response to this either!
Please don't give your money to these people as there is a large chance you will ever see your order or money again! Stay well clear...
