Very disappointing experience with Battleface.
I paid almost $1,000 for travel insurance, but when I actually needed to make a claim following the death of a close family member, I found the level of coverage and support extremely poor. Based on the outcome, I would receive almost nothing despite the significant premium paid.
The biggest issues were:
* Extremely slow communication: responses take around two weeks, regardless of whether the question is simple or requires detailed investigation.
* Rigid claims process: documentation requests are not sufficiently tailored to the circumstances or to what can realistically be provided in different countries.
* Poor flexibility: there seems to be little willingness to consider reasonable alternatives when specific documentation is unavailable.
* Poor value for money: paying almost $1,000 for a policy that provides very limited support when a serious event actually occurs is extremely disappointing.
Insurance is ultimately about how a company supports you when something goes wrong. In my experience, Battleface fell well short of expectations.
I would never recommend using Battleface.

Easy Enrollment
Policy details were clear, signing up was simple, the price seems good for my trip cancellation and trip interruption purchases. But if you want a medical policy that includes pre existing condition coverage you have to buy within fifteen days of your first trip payment or have a certain annual plan. This seems customary with most companies, but I found BCBS Global has a policy that can be bought later.
Not planning to have a Battleface claim, but if I do, hopefully the claim service is as streamlined as signing up was.

Not an actual insurance - I lost few thousand euros as their phone contact said I’m covered and claim was not accepted, never again

We’re sorry to hear about your experience and understand how disappointing this outcome has been.
Your claim was assessed against the terms and conditions of your policy. The relevant passport benefit provides cover when a passport is lost or stolen outside the policyholder’s Home Country. As the loss occurred in Portugal, which was the Home Country listed on the policy, the claim did not meet the requirements for cover.

However, I chose to get paid with direct deposit when i initial the claim application,but I have been told to Check my inbox over the next 7-10 business days for an e-check, I still haven’t received the payment email on how to accept the funds yet.
Original: Unfortunately, for some reason I have to cancel the trip, I have filed the claim online few days ago, and still waiting for the claim outcome, but Everything is good so far.

Peace of mind
Purchased a plan for an expensive, nearly 3 week trip in Europe. The quote process was easy, which was much appreciated. I didn't want a lot of fluff, just simple information on what is covered, and what is not, for a fair price. We did not need to file a claim in the end, but definitely gave us peace of mind knowing it was there should anything go south. Would 100% use again.

Ambiguous PDS
Your PDS appears to be intentionally ambiguous. Specifically the term "Cancellation or restriction" in the "CANCELLATION OR TRIP INTERRUPTION" section... What even is a restriction? It appears you are avoiding the term "delay".

Mind the policy carefully on train
Do not get this insurance if you are travelling by train, they do not cover an essential part that is missing connexion due to prior event. The current wildfires prevent us from our connection and we had to re-route without any compensation.

When trying to buy insurance for a…
When trying to buy insurance for a country that could be involved in war, I was informed that "War and terrorism are not covered by the policy." I'm not sure the point of a product advertised to cover war and conflict, that doesn't cover war or conflict.
