So I attended a dinner in January 2026. At the time of purchase, the ticket included a one-time offer of a complimentary three-month subscription.

However, in April 2026, I was charged a $55 subscription renewal without prior notice or consent. I only became aware of the charge after it had been processed. No "warning email" a few days prior.

I wrote to customer service and received no response.

This approach appears to rely on customers not noticing the charge, which raises concerns about transparency and billing practices, particularly for a company that positions itself as "creating rooms where permission to connect is the expectation". Looks like permission is not part of their billing practices!

If you do attend one of these dinners, please cancel your subscription at purchase. It's a little difficult to find on the website; click your email in the grey button, and it will take you to billing.

Absolutely disgusting, please avoid.

I signed up for an event in London. There’s meant to be a host for a start. The restaurant knew nothing about it. I waited a while and one other person turned up. Bear in mind it’s advertised as groups of people getting together and you all have things in common. (Which I’d taken my time to do a quiz for)
The girl although lovely, was over 20 years younger than me so very little in common. When we realized nothing was happening we both went home. I’d already emailed them about something which they hadn’t responded to. But I emailed again about the lack of event happening. I got an email all apologetic from someone finally and an invite to-another dinner of my choice. I only recieved the details of the location the day before of this next event and discovered (when I googled the restaurant myself as I would have had no clue until I attended) that they only served a tasting menu of over £100 per person. There was also an app I was added to with other people that were meant to be going that night. Again there was one other person. I emailed and said I wasn’t going to go as I never agreed to restaurants that require over a £100 per person to meet 1 stranger that you may not get on with or have anything in common with on a regular Thursday night.

I asked for a refund and asked them to cancel as the whole thing was a shambles.
I never heard from them again, not customer service email nor marketing messages, nothing.
However I’ve just had £43 taken out my account 2 months later as my “quarterly membership”. Absolute joke. You can’t get through to anyone via email. The events will have one other person if you’re lucky. I can’t believe they’re legally operating and haven’t been shut down.

And if you look at their instagram there’s loads of other people saying the same thing, even in different places in the world.
