We ordered a bed from Bensons for Beds, a delivery date was arranged. All was great until the delivery team arrived. They began to unpack their lorry to find they had been sent the wrong boxes. We were due boxes A, B & C. Sadley we were sent boxes B, C&C!
After many phone calls we are now not getting our bed until January!
We disposed of our old bed & now have only a mattress. The store were very helpful but the customer care totally unhelpful! No resolution No compromise just no bed! If this is how they conduct their business, I would certainly avoid the company again

Excellent service

The delivery men Paul and Darren were efficient and delivered my new bed without any problems. Darren explained the instructions clearly. The bedroom was left in a clean and tidy state.

We came into Bensons for beds unsure of what bed and mattress we wanted and not ready to purchase at that moment in time due to not having our new house. Tracy welcomed us into the showroom and gave us a great in depth explanation to all the bed frames and mattresses we lay on. Tracy took our details and kept us in the loop with any potential deals that were going on nearer the time to Black Friday. We’ve now come back in and ordered the bed frame and mattress and we couldn’t be happier with the experience from start to finish.

Andrew was professional and most important of all didn’t push for the sale, he politely answered every question we asked allowing us to hopefully make the right decision for both of us. We’re both keeping our fingers crossed we sleep well on our new mattress which is the significant cost of the bed. Allowing for the bed/mattress surviving we purchased bed guard cover as a precaution, we also paid for the ottoman bed to be assembled and the removal of our mattress, which is a bonus with limited size transport we have. We have a small cottage and have chosen a small double (queen) size bed for our bedroom which Bensons could supply, not everyone does. All we need now is a delivery and assembly without any issues and it will be the icing on the cake. Thank You!

Absolutely fantastic service from Leah. The moment we walked into store she greeted us and made us feel very welcome. She really listened to what we wanted and gave us a clear rundown of all the options she felt would be perfect for us. Leah was fab at giving us time to try mattresses whilst also still being available should we want to discuss anything else with her or ask questions. We are sooooooooo excited to get a good night sleep and cannot wait for delivery day! Thanks Leah. You are a superstar!

Very welcoming staff, provided a lot of useful detail about the products good choice of product. We were then better informed to chose the right product for us.

We have bought our beds from Bensons for decades, even from the same sales lady who we have struck up a friendship. Always good service and prices. We saved over £400 in comparison to another high street name. We got similar constructed products too.

The gentleman was knowledgeable and patient, we made a quick decision and the fact that we didn't have to wait a long time for the bed to be delivered was an extra bonus,

EDIT: In response to their reply below, the ONLY option I’ve been offered is to have your partner (emmieragroup) inspect the mattress randomly to a non specified set of instructions / non specified standard which will provide completely irrelevant results. Unless the results are compared to that of the mattress in store they are null and void. This is a purely a cover up that supports poor manufacturing of delivered products of inferior quality. Hence it’s a SCAM

Visited the store 3 times over 10 days to ensure the mattress was right and the one we wanted. Had the quote printed out and paid over the phone.

First issue was delivery, allegedly there was a, quote “mass sickness” across the drivers, but it just so happened that there was another delivery round the corner shortly after and my mattress could be put in with that….how lucky! Nothing suspect there at all

Second issue, once the mattress was put into place it instantly felt different (and I mean day and night different) to the one in store. Almost as if it was a completely different mattress

Went back into store on the Monday and laid on the mattress again for quite some time looking at this models reviews online, the store manager (Richard) came over and we discussed the issues and when stating that I wasn’t the only one that reported this issue he very sheepishly said “ohh it needs time to ‘soften up’”….he also very quickly alluded to a no return policy but there is an exchange policy, I hadn’t mentioned this.

Got home, went online and looked up the return policy along with consumer law etc, they don’t match, Bensons think they’re a law to themselves.

Third issue, reported all to customer support who weren’t helpful. They then stated they would want an engineers report to accept a return. Ok fine, I simply wanted to know exactly what the engineer could check since its believed there is an internal problem with the mattress not a aesthetical one. No one can tell me, all bensons say and even the ‘apparent independent third party’ company can say is: The mattress will be tested for “feel” to an “expected standard”….so basically a BS test that will tell you absolutely nothing but guarantees that Bensons have ammo for refusing return

The best bit is that customer support let slip that they are partnered with emmieragroup.com who is the alleged ‘apparent independent third party’ which answers why I was greeted with hostility when I contacted emmiera asking for more details on the inspection routine!

Needless to say Bensons will scam you with higher quality products in store and deliver inferior goods hoping you’re not OCD / Autistic enough to notice and complain…..ohh and if you are / do then don’t worry they have plan B to keep you money anyway
Now having to get citizens advice to ensure I can claim my money back via the small claims courts, absolutely ridiculous.

The sofa-bed was delivered exactly on time and was placed in the room of my choice quickly, quietly and with courtesy and essential information given about the item’s setup.

I understand why the team didn’t unpack it but as I am in my mid-eighties it would help if that was an option offered on purchase.

Staff very friendly and helpful. Gave us all the information we needed to enable us to choose what was right for us.
