Great local pool... but stinky swimming showers
Great to have a pool locally and gym facilities and sauna. The staff are all very lovely and helpful. Unfortunately the swimming showers are always quite stinky and get a lot of bugs especially in summer, would be great if a solution could be found.

I was seen by a member of staff called Chanelle, and I was very impressed with the service I received. She was professional, patient, and transparent throughout. Chanelle took the time to show me how to use all of the gym equipment and made sure I fully understood the instructions by asking me to demonstrate what she had shown me. Whenever I was unsure, she was happy to explain and demonstrate again without hesitation. Her supportive approach made me feel comfortable and confident using the equipment. She is a real asset to the team, and I would highly recommend her.

New member experience
Staff i came across were excellent and friendly, particularly the lady in reception. The facility looked reasonably clean. The only issue I had along with other users were the water from showers are too hot and could scorch younger children. To improve the service perhaps consider using mixer tap showers as everyone has different heat tolerence.

Bad swimming experience
I went for a swimming session at Leytonstone leisure centre and the changing rooms were filthy dirty.
There was a strong smell of urine. The changing cubical was dirty with foot prints on the benches and chewing gum on the walls. People wearing outdoor shoes throughout changing rooms although it is ment to shoe free.
No staff available to flag issues too.

I met Aqsa today
I met Aqsa today, she was very professional, kind and friendly.
She was able to meet me at my point of needs. I was struggling to get on the system as well as I find the information too much on the Internet. Aqsa was a gem in helping to download the app as well as how to book various session. Her knowledge of the various services offered is impeccable. Well done!Better gym for having staff like Aqsa.

Absolutely appalling negligence
Absolutely appalling negligence. Extremist graffiti has been left untouched for over three years, which is completely unacceptable. This isn’t just a matter of poor maintenance—it reflects a serious disregard for community safety and basic responsibility.
Allowing such offensive and potentially harmful content to remain visible for this long sends the wrong message and shows a shocking lack of urgency or accountability. Multiple opportunities to address this have clearly been ignored.
It’s deeply disappointing to see such inaction on an issue that should have been resolved immediately. I would strongly question the standards and priorities of this organisation.

The gym is always too hot and the air…
The gym is always too hot and the air conditioning is always switched off at Leytonstone leisure centre.
The staff do not seem to know how a gym should operate.

Another sauna
I like that there are many fitness classes available to choose from
I like that there is always a staff present by the pool side
I like that there is always cleaning going on especially in the wet areas
Dislike
That the sauna is always unavailable to book. This is a busy leisure centre one sauna is not acceptable taking in consideration that it's only 8 people can book in at one given time for an hour. Another sauna room would be appreciated

Great facilities
joined after heart surgery to restore muscle loss and improve general fitness. I was guided by Monique, she was great, knew her stuff and very helpful. I have joined my local centre and hoping to attend regularly because the the excellent facilities, equipment they offer.

I attend Pauline’s classes regularly…
I attend Pauline’s classes regularly her music she uses for all her classes are amazing. Today in aerobics and dance we had to have the new music that was given by your company and it was terrible. We have to do alot of steps and moves to the beat but with this new music it felt horrible one of the ladies even walked out of the class because of the music. We all want Pauline to use her own music again. Pauline is brilliant at her choreography but with this music that she has been given it is very hard to keep the steps going.

We’re aware that there has been some concern and confusion about the changes to music licensing in our fitness classes from this Spring.
In late 2025, we became aware that the cost of our current music license, which covers all our 250 leisure centres and gyms across the UK, would increase significantly. As a charitable social enterprise focused on community benefit, we carefully reviewed our options to ensure we continue to invest our resources responsibly and sustainably.
Following this review, we asked our fitness instructors to transition to PPL pre-cleared, royalty-free music. This approach allows us to manage rising costs while continuing to deliver the high-quality classes you expect.
In practical terms, all instructors are being provided with free access to Power Music; one of the most widely used fitness music platforms. Power Music enables instructors to create their own playlists using professionally recorded studio tracks (not AI-generated), giving them flexibility while ensuring full compliance with licensing requirements.
We hope this provides reassurance and clarity about why we have made this decision, the care we have taken to engage with and support our instructors and our commitment to maintaining your class experience. As we implement these changes, we will continue to monitor feedback and engage with staff and customers.

Hygiene and maintenance a lot to be desired for
Hygiene and maintenance a lot to be desired for. Shower has not been fixed for 2 months or longer in the swimming changing rooms. The centre has been notified on many occasions yet still no repair. Staff are brill but maintenance is awful and this is similar at Leyton Leisure Centre also.
