good response. I am now renewed for a year. I have not been for a swim at Cathall for a few months because of bowel cancer which is now cured. I will return there when the roof is fixed. Maureen

Everything is spotless and amazing
Everything is spotless and amazing. Clean nice machine good environment. The only thing in the gym (not the swimming pool building) we can do bettering is the locker. The 20p coin is an headache in a cashless city. At least put a change machine or allow more coins please.

staff are very helpful and friendly
staff are very helpful and friendly. Considering there is plenty of space, the reception desk is tiny, not really a proper workspace. Staff have to reach over each other if 2 of them are trying to use the area at the same time.
Really enjoying the pool, sauna and gym. appreciate you are still refitting the place. Pleased that I joined.

Making me buy an induction when I'd already been to a gym before, making me get a membership straight away without even letting me test it and the bench is weird, they are too squishy and I sink in when on them, dead gym

We understand that trying a new gym can be daunting, which is why we offer non-members a chance to book a trial before committing to a prepaid membership. However, we do require an induction for our junior members under the age of 16 to ensure their safety while using the equipment.
We appreciate that you may have had an induction in the past, but we want to ensure that you have all the necessary information to use the gym safely.

Good thing to consider
We'be had first swimming lessons for kids and we find them very helpful. Members of staff are helpful, they use a lot of tricks to make learning fun. Kids love coming.

Dirty smelly
Plus side, the staff are nice and friendly. The swimming pool is big and they have classes and gym and sauna. Negative is the lack of cleanliness and hygiene!! Smell of urine, lack of a hired cleaner, dirty showers, stalls, and changing stalls, toiles, and lockers! Problem has been raised with the facility and the only improvement was to buy a floor washer/dryer. Minor improvement, and it doesn't wipe the seats in the stalls the walls and the toilets. Please do something about that as you will be losing customers. I would like to continue to go there , but at the moment, I am dreading it!

I got fined for classes I actually attended
I joined the gym in Jan 2024 and have been wrongly fined multiple times despite attending the classes. I was sent a generic response "reminding" me of the terms and conditions. The email explaining that the class they are accusing me of not attending wasn't acknowledged initially. Their response was slow and impersonal. I have since been fined multiple times despite attending. I have been told its either because I am turning up with less than 10 minutes before the class or more than 10 minutes before the class. Which doesn't make any sense as the window to be checked in as 'on time' is almost impossible to guess?
I have since booked a sauna sessions at 3.15pm for the 3-4pm slot which was available on the website. I scanned in and asked reception that I have been checked in correctly. They said yes, yet my account still says not attended. I appreciate this is a community gym but the service has been a bit of a joke. I have been fined 3 times in 11 days despite attending classes and checking in doing everything I am suppose to. The blame was put on me suggesting I needed to them do extra steps by checking in with reception as well as scanning yet I still get fined. The gym itself is having lots of much needed work done to the facilities but there is room for improvement on the app/ check in process.

due to our scanners or work being done at the centre, we ask our members to double check they have been scanned into the class correctly to stop

Nice envornment, but the smell of pee is too much on the last few weeks, they don t have enough staff maybe or i don t know but this start being a problem, is a shame for the cleaning standard, dangerous and unhealthy for us ! Sorry

Everything is nice besides the…
Everything is nice besides the cleaningness in the lockers, it smells of pee for weeks now, they have no cleaners, they just throw buckets of water from time to time, mostly on the floor, but that doesn't resolve the problem, black stuff at the corners, at the doors. It's disastrous and after continuous complaints it continues. I made friends there and the pool is great, big shame for the cleaning standard, very poor to unhealthy and dangerous I would say. One of my friends took something on his leg from it and gave up the membership. I am thinking of giving up too.
