Customer service rep was very good at his job
The customer service rep whose name was Seamus was very helpful, cheerful, accommodating and pleasant he answered all of my questions and provided enough relevant info for me to complete my task. It was a nice interaction over the phone, very good customer service.

Great swim session
I attended a great swim for all session today. The facilities were clean and the staff were very friendly when helping guide directions to the facilities. Will definitely be coming back and recommend this leisure centre for all ages!!

I had a lovely visit to southbury leisure centre last week. I went to the soft play and we had a wonderful experience. Very welcoming staff, happy to answer questions. The soft play was very clean and my kids enjoyed it, will be returning.

Fantastic centre
I love the centre as the employees are lovely and approachable. The centre is always clean whenever I come with my friends (or by myself).

Great fitness classes
I attended a fitness class today and was absolutely amazing! The fitness instructor is great and studio was clean with shiny mirrors.

The changing rooms smell awful
The changing rooms smell awful, the showers have no holders for shampoo etc.. the steam room isn't hot enough but the gym is ok.

GOOD CUSTOMER SERVICE
I'm not very Computer Savvy but the staff were very Patient & Helpful in helping me with Downloading the Better App & Navigating the Site to choose my Fitness Exercise Session & Upload my Evidence
I chose Aqua Aerobics because it was recommended by my Physical Therapist to help with my Diagnosis of Osteoarthritis & Osteoporosis

It’s been almost a week and the…
It’s been almost a week and the pay-as-you-go swimming learner lessons online booking system at Southbury still isn’t working. I spoke to the reception team and also called the Better call centre, but unfortunately no one was able to give a clear answer or update.
I was advised to come early and book in person, but when I arrived the staff were still unsure whether the class was even running and asked me to wait until the teacher arrived. It was quite frustrating and didn’t feel well organised.
It seems there is no urgency in resolving the website issue, and there also doesn’t appear to be an easy alternative arrangement for learners wanting to attend classes.
At the gym the hair dryers not working; people around me told me they are not working for long time. Again no urgency to fix broken things!!
A week before Chlorine smell was overpowering the entire centre rooms and changing rooms, not sure if they have someone monitoring the amount of chlorine used.
Good so far is the Swimming instructors- Felipe. He seems to be very supportive and brilliant teacher. Glad to have found someone who can help me overcome water fear.
I’ve only recently joined Better, so I do hope the service and communication improve going forward.

We currently do not offer a PAYG rate for Adult swimming lessons, as you'd only receive a discount for this activity on a full Membership agreement.
This is also included in the cost for a National agreement, which is currently £72.00 or £720.00 for the annual equivalent.

Regarding the issue of knowing whether these classes are going ahead, we'll be raising this with the wider team for further investigation.
We deeply apologise for any inconvenience or frustration this has caused.
We've also highlighted the issues you've raised about the hairdryers in our gym changing rooms, and the chlorine smell being overpowering.
We're also thrilled to hear that Felipe has been so supportive and brilliant, as well as helping you overcome your fear of water.

Receptionist took double payment for membership
Signed up for membership at southbury leisure centre. They took £57 and said their system was pending even though it went out my account, and the receptionist said it must have rejected even though there was no reject receipt. Proceeded to take out another £57, so now I had £114 taken out for a memebership. To get my money back, I have to fill out a refund form which will take weeks according to them. Better need better staff.

Much improved facilities, especially changing rooms. Marked down as the clock
is not working in the main pool area and when I enquired was advised been a problem for some time. Can’t someone replace the battery?

The leisure centre is providing fantastic classes towards health and fitness.
Carol's palates and dance classes are fantastic, great instructor she ensures you are always supported to prevent injury, the best. enjoyable,.
Issie is also great instructor, enjoyable dance classes, enjoy her class.
Leary's dance class is also great, enjoyable.
my experience is great what ever class i attend, staff are always helpful
