Found what I was looking for really quickly, & in the right size. Great service as well.

I needed a new pair of walking boots. We were served by Jack, who was very helpful. I chose a pair of Berghaus boots (a brand that I like) but as usual I thought the insoles lacked sufficient cushioning. Jack was very patient and helped me try out three different insoles - I finally settled on a pair of Grangers insoles. When it came to payment I was disappointed that Blacks no longer offer a discount for National Trust members. However, Jack was able to get me a better deal by matching to the online price, so I ended up very happy. Walking boots need to be comfortable so I won’t buy online.

Took my autistic son in to get some new hike shoes. He suffers with sensory issues and was tired from searching all afternoon.
Imy was amazing..she was patient and polite.
Nothing was an issue and was calm and reassuring when he wasn’t sure.
They chatted and we managed to find some shoes that he liked the look of, and that fitted well as he was in between sizes.

Visited with my daughter to find an expedition backpack. John came over and asked how he could help, showed us the backpacks, asked if we had a budget and showed us reasonably priced ones. Helped fit one perfectly, adjusting as necessary sharing this information too. On asking about weights to help the fit, he provided and put weight in the back to enable comfortable fitting, adjusting as necessary. Felt very at ease and happy that he was able to help. Asked if we wanted anything else, and offered to bring out sandals in my size which I was able to take my time fitting and selecting. Also shared his knowledge on hiking poles, how to adjust to fit an individual. Absolutely fantastic service, an asset to your company. Will definately visit again, and came from Portsmouth too. Thank you for making a shopping trip less stressful.

I was looking for a jacket to walk in the Alps. Jack offered his help and ran me through the features of all the applicable jackets. He then left me plenty of time to try the different jackets on. Got a really good jacket for my trip and appreciated Jack’s experience and helpful manner.

Popped in to Basingstoke store to buy a pair of walking boots for my son. Was exceptionally impressed with the knowledge and professionalism of Dan. He was a credit to the store and the brand as a whole and frankly there are numerous retailers that could learn from Dan!
