I was served by Nion, who was exceptional. Friendly, knowledgeable and very respectful of my need for shoes with a support sole and then in selling me the right insoles. All of which have had a very positive impact for me.

Asked for help choosing walking boots in sale today found a comfortable pair Peter storm ones in the sale . Saadia was very helpful and provided 3 types to try with great advice Thankyou

Sales assistant Nion was very helpful. There were two mountain boots we were looking for but without correct size. He then brought out all the correct size in the price range for us to try on. The services were 5 out of 5.

I ordered 2 Peter Storm “pac-a-macs” for sizing & collected from my local store. (Because they didn’t have what I was after in store) This was extremely easy to do.
However, I had to return both coats due to the poor fitting.
I don’t have anything bad to say about Blacks staff or shop - my issues are with the designers at Peter Storm not understanding female body shapes

Ordered online and used click and collect. Item arrived earlier than expected. Collection was very smooth and efficient.

Once we’d identified we needed an assistant with product knowledge, Jack provided excellent advice and guidance in choosing some new walking trainers.
It will be a shame to see Blacks close, quite a loss to the town centre.

Nion was the nicest shop assistant I have ever spoken to. He was helpful, informative and polite!

We bought a new coat for my son, and at the till we were served by Noah, who asked him if he wanted to wear it now. Once my son said yes, he excitedly asked for my son’s name, so he could write it in the jacket (where there was a space for a name to be written). He took off all the tags and handed it to my son. It was great how he engaged with my son - it made my son really excited about his new coat. The small things, done well!

Emmanuel helped me find the perfect jacket for festival season. Really good quality and price. I would recommend Emmanuel too all retail stores.

Wonderful helpful staff and was served by Keerthana that was lovley and welcoming also a gentleman that was very helpful and informative.
Just a wonderful and helpful team, its a shame this store is closing.

Very helpful and friendly service from Nion whilst I was in the process of buying a Berghaus jacket.

Great choice of clothing and products. Helpful staff. Sad they are closing the Basingstoke store. Very happy with the navy fleece I bought in their closing down sale (gift for my son).

It is a shame to see Blacks leaving Festival place in Basingstoke, as they have some good kit, friendly staff and we even managed to get a cut price rucksack in the sale

Excellent service from Blacks in Basingstoke, such a shame that it is closing down. Huge shout out to Kerri who really took the time to understand our query and resolved the issues we had with a faulty item. Kerri followed up with a phone call as she had promised and went above and beyond. Thank you.

Easy to order from website, quick delivery to chosen store, staff in store very helpful, product quality as describe on website. Would have given 5 stars but frustrated and disappointed that the Blacks in Reading where I live has been replaced by a Go Outdoors and, even although I believe they are part of the same company, it was not possible to deliver my order to Reading so I had to go to Basingstoke to collect it.

Phenomenal customer service from both Nion and Kerri, very knowledgeable about the products and recommended me the perfect walking boots. Will definitely be back for more deals :)
