I had been growing my hair for almost two years with no colour so I was very excited to have it dyed. Sadly, the first visit was not what I expected and I came away feeling really upset after such a long wait. I contacted the head office and spoke with Becky. Becky was amazing. Honestly one of the most professional customer care representatives I have ever come across. She really took the time to listen to me and what I wanted. She was patient, kind and understanding and after not feeling like I was understood the first time around Becky made me feel totally heard. She followed up with me on a number of occasions through out the process and found me an appointment with a stylist in Brixton very efficiently. I saw Michael in Brixton who is one of the best hair stylists I have ever met. He was realistic, honest and understanding. He is so talented and now I have hair that I am really happy with. A huge thank you to Becky and Michael I am super grateful for the whole experience. In a world where we all seem to be complaining at each other it was genuinely wonderful to find two people who made my experience a joy. Thank you x

I really reccomend the Blue Tit Academic. I 'm very happy with my hair. The student Alex, have a magic hands. He is absolutley amazing and ready to be a great professional. Congratulations to her teacher Gemma , She is very kind and great teacher .

First time at this salon- Blue Tit at Woolwich. George was fantastic. Really happy with the way he cut and styled my hair today! Will be going back for sure.

Bella, CP branch is just adorable and she’s an amazing colourist!
I absolutely hate the colour but that’s 100% not Bella’s fault, I chose it- it’s a lot like Miss Havisham’s hair- kind of a dull, dusty cobweb colour.
The products are organic which is great but personally I didn’t like the acrid smell, so I washed it straight away and it felt exactly like I was washing a giant Brillo pad but I guess this is the result of bleach, so again, no fault of the salon. Sadly, the smell hasn’t washed out.

I think, just let them decide the colour when you go and maybe stretch to a treatment.

An expensive mistake for me but not your fault.
Update- gutted my top from yesterday is splattered with bleach all around the neck area-wear an old t-shirt guys!
I do hope this review is helpful, I am a Virgo and we are always told we are too critical but we only want to help.
Here’s the good news- I left a Kiehls treatment on overnight and it’s definitely less grey this morning! But still smells awful, I was dreaming of filling up my car with petrol all night.

Louisa at the Leyton Blue Tit Salon is INCREDIBLE. She listens and knows exactly what I want, always amazing results which I constantly get compliments on, even when I am due an appointment. She has created such a fantastic finish that grows out perfectly. Cannot recommend her enough!

I prepared for my appointment with the colour and cut I wanted to acheive and I couldn't be happier with the result. If you have had a balearge you will know its a long process but I was confortable throughout and very well looked after and the head massage was so lovely too. Cille also gave me some tips and tricks to styling and looking after my hair. Cille is a tallented stylist who really makes the experience wonderful. I truely recommend and will be returning again and again. Thank you Cille xx

I had a great experience with Nancy at Blue Tit in Streatham this week! I have very thick, curly hair and she did an amazing blow dry. Don’t think my hair has ever been that smooth!

Had a really disappointing experience here today. Sharing because I was convinced by all of the 5* reviews.

I arrived at 4pm on the dot but wasn’t seen until around 4:20–4:25. This delay appeared to be due to another client who was visibly upset about her colour ahead of a wedding that weekend. In hindsight, that should have been a red flag and I wish I’d trusted my instincts and left at that point.

After eventually being seen, I clearly explained that I wanted a slightly darker brown than my current colour, with the reddish tones removed. Despite this, it was already 4:45 before the colour was even applied. While it was developing, I flagged that my roots looked like they were lifting (going lighter/orange) rather than going darker as requested. I was reassured it was just the lighting and told to leave it for 35 minutes.

After 40 minutes had passed, I had to prompt another stylist to have it washed off and when I returned to my chair it was immediately obvious that my roots were orange. I raised this concern, only to be told it was looking “glowy” and that a toner would fix it.

At this point, I explained how unhappy I was and that I didn’t understand how my colour had lifted when I had specifically asked to go darker. I was reassured that this was not the case. After further dye and toner were applied, hours had passed and we had run so far over time that I no longer had time for the cut I had booked. By then, I had also completely lost confidence in the stylist.

I eventually cut my losses and left extremely upset. On the way home I was in tears as my hair colour is not what I asked for at all, and I’m due to go on holiday the tomorrow so have no time to get it fixed. Not only this but I flagged that my hair condition didn’t feel good & I was assured that the type of dye used couldn’t damage hair.

To make matters worse, when I got home and tried to run my hands through my hair, I discovered a section that still had loads of shampoo left in it. After washing it again myself, my hair just felt like straw. I’ve since had to spend a long time applying leave-in conditioner and treatments just to make it manageable so I can brush through it.

I’ve been getting my hair coloured for years without issue and usually leave with a cool-toned brown and healthy, silky hair. Since moving, I decided to try somewhere new - something I now deeply regret. This was a complete waste of time and I’m now heading off on holiday with damaged hair and orange roots, feeling really upset.

No idea how long it will take to get my hair back to how it was but I can’t imagine it’s going to be a quick or cheap process.

Tinting already brown hair a slightly darker shade of brown, and removing warmth, should surely be one of the most simple jobs in hairdressing. To get this so, so wrong, and to end up with the complete opposite of what I had asked for it just beyond me.

Definitely be cautious about this salon. I had a good hair cut with Aimee not too long ago, but my experience with colour with a different stylist has completely put me off.

I've been having a bit of a two year nightmare with my hair (other hairdressers) and have left it alone completely for 6 months. I was nervous about having another colour and being able to communicate what I wanted (and didn't want!) for my hair but Calum at Clapton salon was absolutely. Perfect natural balayage and lovely cut. He listened really well and made some helpful suggestions, and he is a really nice person to spend a couple of hours with too. Thanks!

I visit the Brixton branch of Blue Tit every two weeks for a root tint, and I’m always looked after by one of the talented assistants. I started with Jada, then Katie (both brilliant… and then they go and qualify!), and yesterday I had Borislava for the first time — I was not disappointed.

Borislava was absolutely lovely. Her bubbly personality immediately put me at ease; she kept me entertained the whole time and even poured me a G&T and brought me a bowl of popcorn — so appreciated. Most importantly, she did a fantastic job covering all my “sparkly bits” (as Michael calls them!).

Honestly, I was a bit sad to leave, which probably says it all. A wonderful lady doing a fab job. Thanks so much, Borislava! xx

I had a great haircut restyle experience with Luke. He listened to everything I wanted and consulted me along the way, I trusted him and felt like I was in really good hands and I'm thrilled with how my hair turned out. Will definitely be booking back in!

I had a great experience at Blue Tit in Hammersmith. I was in London visiting my daughter & desperately needed a hair cut so popped in to see if I could get an appointment, which luckily I could a couple of hours later. This was a very brave thing to do as I have been going to the same hairdresser in Scotland for 25 years & I was pretty nervous about trying someone else! However, Leanne completely put me at ease, listened carefully to what I wanted & then did a brilliant job! The hair salon itself is lovely & calm so all in all it was a very good experience. A week later & back in Scotland, & I am really happy with my hair. I will definitely visit Leanne again if I am doing a London trip.

I was seen by Holly for a fringe trim. I wouldn't want anyone else to cut my hair. When I have a full haircut by Holly my hair looks wonderful. It's always a pleasure to see her. She is lovely and extremely talented.

Melenia is great with curls. She listened and responded to my preferences, understood my hair and gave me a great cut. The salon has a welcoming friendly atmosphere. Will definitely go back. Thanks Melenia :)
