BMP investment is providing a highly efficient and supportive investment platform for me. The admin team have been outstanding in enabling a smooth and seamless service. My main communication being with David Blumsom who has managed my investments over a long period, both in Hong Kong and UK.

David Blumsom is excellent at explaining investment choices. He provided detailed advice on how best to manage my multiple pensions. He has built a trusted relationship with professional advice provided, both when employed and in retirement. He provides regular updates on the best investment strategy and makes changes as required to meet all my investment needs. I’m completely confident in his advice which means I don’t have to stress or worry about finances in retirement!

As I am retired and my risk profile is "low" my financial adviser is always on the look out for ways to improve the performance of my portfolio. Recently, he proposed I transfer my pension to a provider whose fees were considerably lower than the current one. Unfortunately, the Channel Islands-based custodian threw up obstacle after obstacle to the proposed transfer, including levying a 10% transfer charge, Japanese tax law (this had not been an issue when the original investment was made) and UK IHT issues (I am resident in Japan). Not to be deterred, my financial adviser has searched around for alternative ways to reduce my costs and is currently looking at a new scheme, which hopefully will save me money whilst keeping the custodian happy. Full marks for effort, but four stars considering the result to date.

They are also proactive. They found a better platform for my aggregated UK pensions and helped with the transfer from the old trustee to the new trustee. This was very time consuming for them, but they did it!
